Yeah guys, that's Jade :) She was something else... I was never bothered by her or thought she was a bitch or anything, I just found her really, really eccentric.

Me too. I found her fascinating and I saw her vulnerable side besides her smashing look. She covered her insecurity with bravado that many misread... I hope she's doing well.

What is a KiB? EVERY time I try to put an image as my avatar it tells me it needs to be between 0 and 9 kib. No matter the size in terms of pixels....

It's the right dimensions....

This is getting really annoying.

That happened to me every time, too. it's the file size in kilobytes. How I got around it was I went to tinypic.com, uploaded my properly-sized avatar, and then copied the "direct link for layouts" link the upload generated, and put it in the 'link to an off-site avatar' field on our profiles. Boom! It stopped yelling at me about filesize (and mine is a gif, so I'm guessing the filesize is definitely above that). Also, if you link to an off-site avatar like that, it may even get around the width and height dimensions. I'll try it myself in a sec before anyone quotes me on that, but I saw a few members with bigger avatars :)

EDIT: Confirmed (someone else had mentioned it earlier in the thread as well) using the direct link for layouts via tinypic in the "link to an off-site avatar" field allows for any avatar.

Quick Question, how do I upload a signature that is a gif? I'm pretty horrible at this stuff.

It has to be in the IMG code. Copy the URL for your gif, then click on the IMG button and put your link in between it.

there's also this that will resize and/or compress so it will be under 9kb

http://jpeg-optimizer.com/

just put the optimizer at like 90 or it's really pixelated

The same thing happened to me. I had my file saved as a .png. I changed it to a .jpeg and it worked.

Goodness, what a hassle that was.

TinyPic is a far simpler option than the one recommended in the OP.
