Did anyone else notice she said that the next time they see each other she'll be moving to be with him? Then she said "it will be in a long time...or at least it will feel like a long time." I wonder if they're moving sooner than originally expected? She used to just say he will be gone for a year.

I feel like vanessa is more concerned with looking good to anonymous viewers than she is to actual people in her life. She probably thought she was creating some cute husband wife moment when she made David change his shoes. But it's just like, you rarely get to see your husband. He's literally sacrificing his entire life so that you can sit home and play American housewife. Give the guy a Break! Who cares what shoes he wants to wear! Let the poor guy be comfortable! He's earned it. After all these years, vanessa still just puts off this vibe of trying too fucking hard. It's like she's just living her entire life trying to emulate other people because she has no idea how to be a human. When I think of Vanessa's "personality", I literally just picture a blank sheet of white paper. Is it even possible for someone to be so void of personality!? Or do you think she's just hiding her real self from the camera?

Yea remember the first time he left and she said David won't see lily again until she's already in kindergarten? But they saw him like half way through her last year of preschool, no where close to the start of kindergarten.
Idk if she does it be dramatic or cause she's really that dumb but every time David leaves she just picks some ridiculous duration that he'll be gone for and it never ends up being that long

To be fair, when your spouse leaves for a year long deployment or unaccompanied tour, it does feel like it's going to be a long time, especially right after you drop them off. That said, he should get two weeks of R&R leave sometime during his tour. If I were Vanessa I'd be skipping the Rae Dunn and Target hauls, pumping out yt vids, saving all that separation pay and planning a trip to visit him with both the kids. She doesn't even have to go to Korea if she is worried about safety, they could meet in Japan, or Thailand. It would give her something to plan and a goal to work towards while he is gone, that way she isn't just waiting for him to come back.

I think you made a very interesting point here, and something I've been thinking about for the past year or so. No, I don't think Vanessa has a very strong personal identity at all. Cliche, but I don't think she's ever "found" herself. I think she's quite trapped into a life that isn't what she thought or maybe even wanted, but she's stuck now.

It's hard to live the military wife life. She has nothing of her own doing. No education, no career, just the kids, and I do think it's overwhelming her. She probably also gets a lot of advice from her family, and they've always been on the harsh side to her, so maybe she feels like she has to portray this false image. I get that there's a lot of turmoil in this kind of a life, but she could have a goal and work toward something more tangible. Give up YT and go to school would be my advice. I don't think her heart is into it, and the pay is steadily going down. All youtubers are complaining that they can't make a living at it these days. Time to move on. It would be better for her kids too. JMO.

I honestly don't think she's very smart with her money. I highly doubt she has a savings and if she does, I can't imagine it being over $1,000 if that. She spends so much, she literally shops all day buying useless crap and you can tell it's out of boredom cause what else does she have to do? She doesn't have another job and doesn't go to school, no extra curricular activities for lily, no mommy and me with Charlie, nothing.
Personal - I recently graduated and have a well paying job, so lately I've been spending pretty freely. I don't spend nearly as much or as often as Vanessa does and I still struggle to build a savings. Only I don't have kids to put first. I also don't buy as much useless crap as her, and between my husband and I, I'm sure we make as much, if not more than her and David so idk how she does it. She must live paycheck to paycheck. Which I would believe because she always seems to put of grocery shopping a few days after they've run out of food, which I assume is cause she's waiting to get paid again.
It would be so smart of her to save up for trips to see David or, idk a new car! Haven't they been saying they wanna buy one for a while? And her excuse before was that David wanted to be there to help pick it out.. well he visited for a while and they didn't even look at cars so I'm sure it's more about money than anything. Stop spending endlessly Vanessa, you have other things to pay for that are more important than Rae Dunn and your YouTube image

Because Lillian is her given name, Lily is her nick name. Schools go by a first name most of the time unless there's another child in the class with the same name..
