I am not saying we can all be perfect but she will pull out food items like crackers, popcorn, fruit snacks (just examples) and won't put them back right away. She lets everything pile up on the counters and then goes back to put it away later. We all have had a day like this but for Jess it seems to be EVERY day. Learn how to tidy as you go throughout the day. Don't let the mess pile up.
This is my husband all over! Lol. He also does things that result in more work/double handling like he doesn't push in his chair after he's finished at the table. He always says that he's going back to push it in later (he does) ... why not just do it when you stand up?! ImageImage

Anyway, the reason for my comment is that I totally agree with all of what you said, especially #3 because I clean/tidy as I go but obviously live with someone who doesn't so I know both sides of this type of situation lol. If she just got out what she needed and put the rest straight back where it came from, she would make life sooo much easier for herself. For example, the blankets in the lounge room, use them and then when you're done, fold them and put them back.

But yes, also making the kids have responsibilities would help too! Have a designated shoe spot and make them put their clothes in the washing basket/machine after school etc. Or nah, just chuck it all on the floor and deal with the mountain later lol.

Oh girl I feel this. My husband is the same damn way. He'll get up and go to the kitchen but won't take his plate from the coffee table because he's "gonna come back for it" literally drives me insane.

The kids could totally have chores. The oldest 3 are capable of stripping their beds and putting on new sheets once a week, making their beds everyday, dusting and vacuuming their bedrooms once a week etc. If it's not modeled by their parents they aren't going to do it.

My husband won't push his kitchen chair in. I'm like why it is in the middle of the kitchen push it back in. Every day.

I had to pause the new video 5 mins in to come here and say what the duck is wrong with her? She's acting like an obnoxious toddler. And watching a lot of cleaning videos?? Where? Oh, you mean the two times you folded the blankets and vacuumed the rug?

There is really no excuse for any of that mess. 1 kid or 10 kids. When you use something, put it back. I couldn't believe seeing crackers left open on the counter from when she made lunches. Hello?? Aren't you an adult?? Use crackers, then put right back. That should be second nature. Shit all over the bathroom floor, what is that?? Take a shower, throw clothes and towel on the floor, and walk away?? I mean, people do that? I dunno, maybe I'm too clean, lmao. But wow.

And that end shot of the living room?? There were back packs and shoes all over the floor. Do they walk in and see who can fling their shit the furthest?? Legit, a little bit of adulting Jess and your cleaning issues would be gone.
