I have been watching them too. I however don't understand why they live in Alaska and it's freezing but Kristen and the baby wear short sleeveless stuff all winter. Weird.

Also, it's interesting that Missy posted a picture with Jared and not Ellie...tbh, I can't blame her if she and Ellie aren't all that friendly anymore. Missy seems like she's standoffish and had bad ideas implemented into her that stuck, but Ellie just seems like a downright bitch, pardon my French.

Also, I didn't really like her new hair at first, but I'm starting to like it. Straight, sleek, and brown, instead of her usual unflattering blonde or orange-y brunette with damaged looking curls.

I wonder if Ellie going on about how she struggled with infertility (when she really didn't) bugs Missy because of her two losses.

Sorry, this is completely out of context but this showed up in my recommended videos!
I haven't been reading here when Ollie was that young, so I have no idea if this was discussed but HOW ON EARTH can someone dye or spray their toddlers hair like that?!
His poor skin and hair for what?! So he can look like a little californian surfer boy?!

I don't think his hair was dyed?? Kids hair tends to lighten in summer and darken with age. My son is 3 and his hair was much lighter when he was younger than it is now. I'm betting his hair will lighten again this summer.

Yes, I don't know where and when, but she once showed the exact product she used. I think it was a spray that would lighten his hair. I remember being completely shocked but since it happened slowly I never saw how bright it really was!
I am going to try and find it...

Are you talking about when she was buying a bunch of sunblocks? (Or maybe it was toothpastes?) in a place that sold a lot of more natural products. I'm curious when that video was versus the video that you posted a screen shot from. I personally don't care if she lightened his hair either way. Especially not with some product that may have been advertised as "natural." I remember after she bought that product everyone talked about Missy's hair looking all kinds of funky.

^^^ so when was the vid from him hugging Cassie? It looks like when he was way younger, when his hair was still very blonde and hadn't darkened yet.

And omg remembering the splotchy hair Missy had after those videos is hilarious. her stylist was probably like, "awesome, making more money off this hair moron!"

DailyFirstClassAndWastingCash Part 85

Postby HelloSweetie » Tue Apr 18, 2017 10:20 am

I remember us talking about this. Missy put Sun In in Ollie's hair didn't she? It's like lemon juice and will react with the sun to create highlights. At the time on this board there was a lot of speculation that Ollie's hair was getting darker and we thought she had tried it in desperate reaction to that.

No one else remembers?

Bryan posted an IG story, with himself and Ollie on a ride at Disneyland. He called it "Fettuccine's Dancing Cars". It's "Luigi's Rollicking Roadsters". But he's SUCH an expert on Disneyland...

At the end of today's vlog...
Ollie: whining, Finns drinking my apple juice!
Cut to Ollie has the apple juice
Bryan: isn't is so nice Finn shares!
We're seeing more and more of the tantrums Ollie is throwing, and poor little Finn

I've been saying this forever! They know very little about Disneyland for people that go there all the time.

We go every other year and keep up to date on everything that's going on. I know the name of all the rides, and when there are closures and refurbishments. Bryan and Missy always seem surprised by changes, and couldn't understand why the Avengers characters were there

Then again, Bryan also calls himself a "Star Wars fan" and we all know he probably hasn't even seen the movies, and only started banging that drum when he was trying to fit in with Chris Porillo. Always posing.... always.

Plaids only get you into the Fastpass line. Not exactly Front of the Line. The irony is that at DL, if you are experienced (like B&M should be) you really shouldn't have to stand in lines longer than 20 minutes most of the time.

I think they pay for the plaid to keep "undesirables" away. Can't be rubbing elbows with the littler people.

What the hell is the big attraction with Disneyland? Not just with them, but with a lot of adults. Hell, some even get married there! I'm not American so is it some sort of cultural thing I'm missing?

Things I loved today:
- Ollie cracking up about the "pack you up" joke. It's pretty cool to see him starting to make jokes -- it shows intellectual and linguistic development. Nice, man.
- Finn and Karma. My god that kid is cute. I don't know what you are going on about saying he needs to get a haircut -- I love his hair and I'll be sad when it goes. My brother had hair a lot like Finn's and he was probably almost two before my mom could bear to cut it.
- Ollie's excitement at having Peyton AND Jackson in the same spot. He was just mindblown. Of course -- much of that was amped up by the adults , but it was still pretty cute. On a side note, can you imagine how awful to be anyone else who just happened to be in that little store or whatever? all that yelling and ... ughhhhh ...

Things I could-not-even-with today:
- Bryan's weird I'm-being-funny-but-not-really boasting about how good he is at the Buzz Lightyear ride. Wtf is that even about? He's genuinely proud of his performance at something that he gets to do all the time.
- His inability to remember whether he and Jared have ever been to Disneyland together before. Huh? It's not like you obsessively document your days or anything.
- "And here's the closet where we're going to put Finn ... you'd think we're joking but we're not ..." For all his Harry Potter watching, you'd think Bryan would have figured out that the Dursleys are NOT sympathetic characters. They're not Voldemort and his merry band of Death Eaters ... but they're not the good guys, dude.
- Peyton and Liv both being blatantly freaked out by Jackson's aggressive hugging. And all the "give so-and-so a hug!" that you see in both families' vlogs so constantly. It just got me all sad about how these kids have just absolutely no bodily autonomy or sense of privacy and boundaries ... and I'm really nervous about how they're going to grow up.

It's really fun and "magical." It's about so much more than just the rides. That said, most of what B&M do aw the rides, and they seem to do very little if the extra magical things.

For me, an admittedly anxious person, I like it because it's clean/tidy and happy. It's a great place to people watch, and to see happy families enjoying time together. Even at its busiest, I can find it relaxing because I don't feel like there is anything to worry about. They have the best customer service in the world, and everything is ordered, organized and clear. There is even an escort to follow the ducks that live there as they roam around to keep people from hurting them! When we go, my kids are beyond happy to be there, which then makes us feel like the best parents in the world. The magic isn't in the rides though, but in the "extras" like fireworks, parades, pop up parties, shows, characters, etc . All the things B&M seem to miss.

It's just a beautiful place.... even if the "perfect happiness" is manufactured.

I think Disney just does things really well - it's like no other experience you would have at another theme park. They truly go above and beyond and immerse you in the experience, and there are things that appeal to all age groups (even the adults!). The little details that they work into the experience are pretty cool - like, they pump scents in to different areas of the parks, and the park and ride designers work "hidden Mickeys" into the attractions for people to find. Little the things like that that are sort of the icing on the cake. There's a lot of creativity that goes into it all, and, like I said, you are just totally immersed in the "world of Disney" while you are there.

I don't have much experience with Disneyland, but Disney World (in Orlando) is enormous - it's a city in itself! So I think that it part of the fascination, too. My family is always amazed at the efficiency of it all, and just how the "magic" is created. I am an adult WDW fanatic, and for me personally, a lot of the attraction is that I grew up going there with extended family, and it just holds a lot of good memories. So, I guess that's my take on it - it's just an experience that is unlike anything else, and Disney just does everything really well.

Ahhh! Gotcha! Makes more sense now. My only experience with Disneyland is what I've seen DB experience on their older vlogs and given your description of disney, they don't seem to showcase the place very well.

Same. I totally get why for people with kids it's wonderful and magical, but I am totally weirded out by grown up people who are still really into the whole magic aspect of it. Like ... people who have Disney themed weddings or single folk who have "Someday my prince will come" prints hanging in their living rooms and stuff, people who buy expensive Beauty and the Beast tea sets for their wives for Easter ... I just don't get it. It's weird in the way that Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch was weird. I still enjoy nostalgically watching old Disney movies, but I don't, like, yearn for the magic or anything.

I've been to Disney World three times -- 5th grade (perfect age); 9th grade (dance company trip -- also a great age and super fun to go on as a field trip with no parents, only a handful of adult chaperones); and once when I was about 28 (right when the first Harry Potter park opened up -- but since it was such a far trip for me & my friends, we spent a day at the Magic Kingdom and another at Epcot). While it was definitely a cool experience (for all the reasons HelloSweetie pointed out), it was definitely just kind of weird for me, too. I was like "No ... I don't really want to high five random characters" and I was just so grossed out by the stores upon stores upon stores upon stores. It's like 60% theme park, 40% massive Disney Store.

Now -- I totally get why DB and the Johnsons invest in the season passes (and I think they got CJ and Bailey season passes for Christmas, which is super sweet and really generous). If you've got kids who are at the age where it's still a really magical experience (and honestly I think that except for Liv they're all a little young for it to be a truly worthwhile investment) -- and you can take advantage of lots of dates -- and you have lots of money to spare ... it makes a lot of sense. The Johnsons will often just pop in for a morning and go on one or two rides each time and I'm like "ahh ... smart!" But I do wonder -- when I got to go at age 10 (my brother was 6), it was really awesome. One of the best parts, though, was spending MONTHS anticipating the trip -- and then it was FINALLY time to go. It was really special! While it's cost-effective if these kids go at least once a month ... doesn't that spoil some of the anticipation and magic of it all?
