I know. I scratched my head at that too. The "experience" of pouring batter on a round electric griddle? Wow. So fun!!! It's probably on her bucket list, along with the deal with Huggies and visiting a lighthouse. Not making fun of the lighthouse. That is the only reasonable thing she's said was on her list.
Edited: guess I was too slow on my snarky response!

What was the Huggies deal? I must've missed that one.

Also, this is making me reminisce on B&M's glorious, not expensive at all whipped cream maker... Image All for the experienth!!

Oh, they had a brand deal with Huggies, and she posted about it on IG, saying that it was a "bucket list item checked off".

But yes, you're right. There's no experience. A crepe maker is just an electric griddle that's a circle. The experience is no different than making them in a pan.
I remember the first time I made crepes with with my grade five French teacher. The woman was from FRANCE. We didn't have a fancy crepe maker, but the experience was still meaningful :)

Now, that's cool, and definitely qualified as an experience.
But wanting a special pan just "for the experience", is weird. Next she'll need an ebelskiver pan "for the experience". SMH. So wasteful.

Ding ding ding ding!
Also part of the experience: one more thing that takes up countertop space that you'll use maybe 3 times a year and that will end up at Goodwill after that. Goodwills are FULL of waffle makers, popcorn makers, sandwich presses, ice-cream makers, bread makers (I got mine there and use it twice a week!) and all other uber-specific appliances that people don't need. Ever consider why?

Ellie said at the beginning of today's video that today was Calvin's first official play date. Later on (2:54) she stumbles over her words and says "K well Calvin's at his day...his little play date". Did she almost accidentally say DAYCARE?! Most likely but we will never know. Now coming back to this being Cal's first official play date she then goes on to say "he did so good, he just went in and played with his friends. Its cute. Some days he doesn't really want to and then sometimes he does really great, and today he did great!"

What a liar. If this was the first time how is she comparing it to other times? :|

So weird. I have a kid born the day before Calvin (who speaks in full sentences but that is neither here nor there). First of all, I dont personally know any moms who do "playdates" at age 2 where you drop the kid off and don't stay. My daughter will go on playdates but I always stay with her. Unless they asked a friend to babysit and watch him but at age 2 , I don't know any kids who do solo playdates. Secondly, I send my daughter to preschool a few mornings a week- she loves it. Even IF they are sending him to a Mother's Day Out type thing like C&K send Gaines and Brooks to WHO CARES. E&J are so shady

Exactly, it probably would be great stimulation for Calvin! Their shadiness just makes me mad.

My son turned one on a Saturday, and that following Monday I had him in the local Montessori program. He needed socialization, and I needed to get a break! I wouldn't judge her for that. I do judge her for the unnecessary deception. Just like way back in the original vlog that made so many of us start to really side eye them.

The Brataley's have a new Pacifica, courtesy of Chrysler. Looks like Ellie and Jared got dumped for a more popular family.

Forgive me for two in a row...is it possible that Calvin's playdate was with a speech therapist or some sort of early intervention? I sincerely hope he is getting help if indeed he needs help.

She totally started to say daycare! Not that it matters so why say play date. I'm happy he is with other kids. I doubt it was speech therapy or EI since she mentioned the other kids. Regardless, it is good for him to be away from her and with kids his own age. If he is in daycare for socialization just say it!! Why the stigma Ellie??

I don’t understand why they try to hide babysitters or daycare. No one would judge them for using them, most parents use them! They get judged for being shady and lying and het they continue to do it!
Daycare is so good for kids, it teaches socialising, to listen to your teacher, how to share and play with other children and it sets kids up for school. You can always tell which kids have never been away from their parents and which kids have gone to daycare and had that time apart from their parents, they transition into school a lot easier (in my experience).
It don’t understand why they feel the need to hide it and lie? And they wonder why everyone is starting to see right through their bullshit and why they are losing subs and views.

I noticed that right away! Who cares if we went to Day Care or was Babysat right? Why is she hiding it? I wonder other parents who have kids in that day care think when/if they see the vlog and know Ellie lied?

Again, why Jared's dad being at this vlogger conference makes me more suspicious that he is on E&J's payroll. No one agrees?

Seems like most of the stay at home griffiths girls never put their kids in daycare, maybe it’s a weird Jennifer thing that was passed on just like the no dishwasher thing. It seems like it’s only acceptable to put them in daycare when they can call it “preschool” when the kid is over 3 years. Ruby didn’t put evie in a program until “preschool”. But I don’t get it, isn’t preschool and daycare the same thing? Play based learning?

They def are, the planner/budget video briefly showed their budget and there was a section that looked like “parents” I think. And Jared’s dad manages his google ad, website techy stuff- that’s his business.

It is where I am from, basically.. Where I'm from, at least in my suburb, day care is subsidised by the government with approx 80% off day care costs per day. Out of pocket could be $5/day. Preschool is not subsidised, and it about $700+ per term. Most parents take their kids out of preschool because it's no different than day care, and just do a bit more studying at home and more outdoor play or playgroups. It's ridiculous, but I think it's a little different in the US.

Yeah I think it’s different everywhere. I’m in Ontario Canada and only the Quebec side has subsidized daycare like that. In Ottawa we pay 40-60$ a day for daycare and you only get slightly subsidized if you have a low household income

I've been randomly tuning in and watching them ever since E+J's last photoshoot with her. I didn't know if people were aware she was on YT! I always want to post about them but there's not a thread.
