Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
There was sooo much anger in her voice. I get having a bad day and a shorter fuse with the kids but damn. That was tough.
She definitely put on a bit of show for the camera, there’s no need to discipline in the car if she already did in the post office.

I dont think she "lost it" on lily at all!! If i would have hit my mom as a child i would have been yelled at for sure. Lily is too old to be hitting her mom. Thats super disrespectful. She is behind and stuff but she knows thats wrong
I dont mind that she disciplined her in public. I prefer mothers to get after their kids in public rather than let them go crazy and be annoying to everyone else there.

Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
Ok, at first I was like “the post office thing wasn’t so bad”, but then she was clearly not moving on from it at the grocery store. That was a total overreaction.
My daughter is a lot like Lily. Her teachers are surprised when she gets upset because she is normally the sweetest kid, and a really good listener, but she throws a wicked tantrum once every month or so. (Actually happened two days ago. She lost her doctor kit for the day.)
When this happens, I’m constantly checking in with myself as a parent and making sure my reaction is appropriate. I don’t put myself in situations that would exacerbate my frustration. In that situation, I might still have been cooling down from the post office and I would have said to my daughter “you know what? We aren’t going to do a little cart today, because I need you to calm yourself down and show me good behavior by riding in the cart.”
Girlfriend was screaming at her from the second she started pushing the cart. It was pretty clear that she was still frustrated and projecting on Lily at that point.

Yeah, i do agree she overreacted when it came to lily pushing the cart.
It must get hard and frustrating to raise a child who is in their own world and spaced out as much as lily seems to be though. Id probably lose my cool sometimes too even though its not right

Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
It bothered me that she stood back and recorded her putting the cart back. What would she have done if lily bolted out the door? A few years ago a 4 yr old here got hit and killed by a truck outside a store and his parents were right there and couldn't grab him in time.hey girl hey007 wrote:It very much seemed like it was for the video. Why wait until you get in the car, buckle up the kids, get the camera going and then yell at her? Why can't you just take her to the side and correct her? The punishment should have ended there. She was so weird about the whole, "she hit me" thing. Vanessa made it seem like Lily straight up punched and actually hurt her. Then she's awarded at the grocery store by using a cart which gets taken away. (Yes, I think letting her have her own cart was a reward.) What does Vanessa do? She stands in the door way to get after her child yet again! Why can't she stand off to the side? Why does she have to record it? She makes zero sense to me.Blueberries wrote:If she already disciplined Lily in the Post office I don’t get why she started up again in the car...for the sake of the video? I hope not!
Also, what was the BS line of "I just have to keep it real" calm down Britney! Queen of "I'm just keep keeping it real with you guys, these are just the real life moments"

Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
Oh her screaming at Lily was COMPLETELY staged. I mean Lily did not give much of a reaction. Because she is Lily. You know ? If it was Aria , oh man.
I'm not saying Lily did nothing wrong, but it is hard to believe when she managed to turn the camera of when the incident took place and conveniently turned it on in the car and continued yelling at her. Also who else thinks her disciplining Lily for the "cart" matter was just silly. Come on. You can have an eye on her at all times. It is not a fantasy park where kids can get lost

Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
Im curious why people think she picks Charles? This tiny little sore doesnt seem like hard proof, I know personally I have 4 kids and all have had little sores like that off and on, our youngest scratches her hair when she tired.. Just seems like a lot of people are wanting to make this factual when it seems not to beJeybee27 wrote:Wow.may8675 wrote:She has manged to pick charlies forehead scab for over 2 weeks!

I think mostly because Charlie always has sores in the same spots that never seem to heal, she is dodgy when it comes to discussing it and she has self admitted that she has a picking issue on herselfLolitalene wrote:Im curious why people think she picks Charles? Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
This is … an odd choice for a thumbnail – Charlie obviously wasn’t the one being disciplined, and, while I don’t have children yet, I feel like it’s not exactly appropriate to discipline such a young child/a baby (let me know however if I’m wrong about this!), so it’s also obvious that he wasn’t doing mischief (because how should he have done that?).
I’m not trying to imply the thumbnail should’ve been a picture of Lily being upset over being disciplined, but why use this photo? (because the video title is ‘disciplining in public’ and charlie is in a shopping trolley and evidently in public where lily was disciplined (duh) )
(The image is blurry because I zoomed in on it on my laptop)
Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
Exactly... I question what she means when she says " discipline" too... discipline is simply teaching a child right from wrong it does not always mean yelling at them or hitting ( not saying she hit Lily). Why was she acting so weird about disciplining in public? it shouldn't be that big of a deal... get down on her level, address the behavior and move on. She clearly did not move on if she is still yelling at her in the car and then was so short with her in the grocery store.ForeverGauc01 wrote:There was sooo much anger in her voice. Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
If you were THAT pissed like she said she was, why the hell would you even THINK to turn the camera on just to yell at your daughter some more? Poor kid, I feel like Vanessa had planned a discipline video and just went with it regardless of Lily's behavior that day. WE NEED A DISCIPLINE VIDEO SO TODAY I'M GOING TO YELL AT YOU FOR EVERY LITTLE THING. Lilly's probably thinking calm your tits mum, it's just a shopping cart, leave me the fuck alone.
And her little voice when she said 'okay mum' or whatever it was in the car, she just sounded a bit spaced out and confused to be honest. So staged

Re: 2011InvisibleMilestones (Part 40)
It was her tone of voice that I didn't like, she was angry and I can't even remember if she looked into Lily's eyes to be sure Lily was looking and listening.
If her garage wasn't so packed, then she could park her car in there and unload groceries and the cat wouldn't get out.
