No, in the US, the public school does not have to do it because a parent demands it. Testing will be a decision between parent, teacher, and probably the specialist on staff. Jess can call for a meeting and everyone can debate whether testing is necessary but if she's got nothing else beside her own opinion, it is likely the school will rule against her. But if she brings independent evaluations or a report from pediatrician, the school will listen. That's why if you even suspect your kid is delayed in speech as a toddler, you should get them evaluated. Many counties in the US will do it for FREE because they want all children to be ready for kindergarten. If your kid is speech-delayed, the county will start delivering services at age 3! Once your kid enters kindergarten, the school already has a record of evaluation and services and will pretty much continue the therapy automatically. But if you do nothing until kindergarten, it's much tougher to get help. (Can you tell I've been in the trenches about this?!!!!)

Yep. When mine switched from 0-3 services to 3+ services it was a series of 3 or 4 meetings so services picked up the day after they turned 3. The transition to Kindergarten from Pre-K was also 3-4 meetings which started in like January so everything was ready for next year by the time school gets out in May.

He shows up in Kindergarten and that alone can delay getting services even more so since she seems not to be proactive about asking for him to be tested in writing with a CC to teacher, SLP at the school or which one covers the school, special ed admin etc. Then they have so many days to get the testing done. An diagnosis from a private evaluation carries a lot of weight - while the school can say according to the tests that my kid is very likely to have autism [for example] they can't actually diagnose.

I can believe they said at school Kaden's speech isn't a concern because he's a twin etc. but that's obviously not true. I know Jess said she talked to the teacher and their doctor about it. It seems possible they're both brushing it off because the school is underfunded and Jess has medicaid/crappy insurance so he's falling between the cracks. The kids did have a 'minimum day' a while back which I thought schools only did if they were super underfunded. I'm only surprised Mimi hasn't said anything about it as a grade school teacher.

I'm also always surprised that Kaden gets the go-sign everytime there is mention about his speech pattern. Either through evaluation she takes him to (her words), or through the kindergardenteacher that we heard from herself, that she wouldn't worry right now. I think it was something, that she'll (the teacher) look out for his speech progression.
I think it got ever so slightly better since he entered kindergarden, sometimes you understand him quite alright, but the longer his sentences are, the more slurred his speech becomes.

My completely honest, non-professional opinion is, that I doubt his speech will miraculously get better with time. He's going on to six years, an age where I started elemetary school, and he still pronounces most words so bad, that you have to either know him to understand what he's trying to say, or translate. A friend of mine that I went to that elemantary school with, got diagnosed with speech problems on the first day she entered class and recieved treatment immediatly, but she was already 7, even with therapy it took her roughly 5 years to accomplish speech that was clear. To this day you can sometimes tell that there was once a speech problem, because some words still aren't clear or properly pronounced.

Hopefully all that worry is for nothing and Kaden will start speaking clear within the next year or something, but at the moment even Landen is catching up with him.

I can usually understand Landen 100% better than I can understand Kaden. Kyson speaks leaps and bounds above Kaden, but they're twins so apparently that's normal? This is what Jess has ALWAYS justified his speech with, even when they were 2-3 years old.

And also, it's pitiful how she has to caption every thing that Kaden says because nobody can understand a damn word that kid says. If that was my son, I would have had him in speech therapy at the beginning of the school year. Why does she not at all seem concerned about this?? Has she ever mentioned Kaden's speech?? It's awful! He sounds like he is 3 yrs old.

She discussed it with Kaden's kindergarten teacher at parent-teacher conference time and the teacher did not think it was a problem for right now.

The school system is probably backed up with students requiring speech that they take the most severe cases. We went private for our youngest for that reason. It was very expensive, but I did not want to lose time.

Ok this latest video was hella annoying. Jesss was talking 90 miles an hour about stupid boring shit. Like....ugh, nobody gives a shit about your grass! Really?? Grass!!!!
And she vlogs the stuff Addie does like it's just so unique and impressive. ALL babies climb stairs if given the chance. ALL babies climb on and play in the dishwasher if given the chance. This is her 100th kid so why is she acting like these things Addie does is the first time she has seen it and just "so Addie"?? Naw girl, that's normal baby shit right there....Addie is not special or impressive. She's an average very typical baby. NOT special.

And why must they constantly let her go diaperless??? Ok, I get that she has a rash so if they want to let her bottom breathe, I could understand but it seems like they always have this kid diaperless and naked. It's weird. Not to mention, she could piss on the floor at any time, then her house will smell like urine even more than it probably already does.
I know that bitch's house smells like urine with that many males in the house. You cannot tell me her bathroom does not smell like piss!!! I don't believe that for a second.

Exactly. I have one boy too (well, just one that is toilet trained) and he is in the same age range as Jess's kids and our bathroom smells like a damn urinal if I don't clean it daily. Little boys don't give two shits about where their piss flies. I've caught my son peeing on the wall before ....didn't even realize it.....aiming for the toilet but hitting the wall.

So you cannot tell me that with all those boys her house doesn't smell like piss!!!! Plus with naked Addie and a cat!!!! Piss city!!!

I wonder if his speech is better at school, he is away from the mess and chaos. He probably has really bad anxiety which severely affects his speech at home. Being away from home he might do a lot better. Idk just a thought because reading this reminded me of myself, I have add and anxiety and in certain situations I can't speak well, I stutter and can't get my words out. I just can't see a teacher not being concerned with his speech that is crazy to me.

I think you may be in the right track with this one - the kids are encouraged to act hyper and overexcited at home. Kaden’s speech is really fast, add to that he kind of mumbles, which makes him almost unintelligible. At school, he may be a lot calmer
