Although I'm really not a fan of E+J I must say I find this to be really absurd:
A youtuber buys something he wants from his own money - YTMD be like "Look at them wasting all their money when we know the YT cash would stop coming in the future and they should be saving for rainy-days...".
A youtuber get something he wants through sponsorship - YTMD be like "Look at them asking for free stuff instead of getting it with their own money which we all know they have!".
Goes to show that no matter what you do someone will always have something to say...

Exactly, but I had to admit though that i'm guilty of this myself too! Before I knew about this board, I occasionally rolled my eyes on certain things some youtubers did. Since joining this board I have started to be more picky about the things they do. I had a break from watching them (just not enough time and they were boring) and I still kept reading this topic. Reading these threads gave me way more polarized view than if I had actually been watching them. I watched one of their recent vlogs, and yes it was boring but at the same time they just seem like normal people.

No one is perfect and Ellie (and Jared) also has her quirks for sure but just reading these threads you could imagine that she is the devil itself!

Having her quirks would be fine, if she didn't act like she (and the Griffiths) are better than everyone else. She _acts_ nice, but it's a facade.
I get what you're saying about the hypocrisy of being mad when they buy things, and being mad when they get free stuff, but the bottom line is the _entitlement_. I think that's what pisses most of us off. Ellie has even said that Heavenly Father is rewarding them because they live such a good life and He sees. They _deserve_ all this stuff, whether it's free or bought, because they are better than others. And that's what bothers me the most. I really don't think that their monetary success at this time is because God is rewarding them for not promoting siblings' vlogs, openly favoring one child until she became pregnant again, making Jackson share a bed and "take care of Calvin" at night when there are extra unused bedrooms, selfishly going to Mexico while pregnant, despite widespread information about the Zika virus, and their other various sins.

Ok, Jared's vision. I think we had some exaggeration going on there - like Ellie's precancer being called pre melanoma because that' more dramatic. If his eyes were as bad as he was saying, I think he would have needed to be wearing them all the time like he is now. I just thought he was wearing them more now because Ellie had her glasses.

Them letting Jackson play with Cody's toy before giving it to him-urrgg! As someone commented under the vlog, Ellie wouldn't be happy if Cody played with Jackson's toy before giving it to him.

These two and their fascination with bodily functions-they are so childish!

Wonder what the big family moment will tomorrow!

So I know he wears contacts. And I know he’s getting lasik done. I have had it and so have more than a dozen of my friends and family, ranging from mild vision issues to larger prescriptions. But regardless of how bad, we all had to wear our glasses for at least a week before the surgery to wean our eyes off of the contacts so that’s likely why he’s wearing them.
As for Ellie’s glasses, whomever helped her pick them out needs vision correction because she looks ridiculous. Like it’s part of a costume. I can’t.

The entitlement part is also what I think most people are objecting to. They always get the most expensive of whatever they buy, then call the people complaining on the cost of their Bollie items when it first opened up as haters. They wanted to go see "Hamilton" and carried on about not getting tickets, then bam free tickets for them to go see it.

Jared posted a pic on his instastory about how he taped lens on his eyes to sleep so he wouldn't touch his eyes and to block out haters. I am so tired of these two and calling folks 'haters". Do some folks get too rough and say stuff-yes sometimes. But these two, especially Ellie are bad about calling anyone that's not posting "I love Ellie and Jared" as haters!

Unless the person is making actual threats, the fan and haters both are how they are making money with their views of the vlogs! I really got burned out with them using the term with the Bollie debacle when anyone that dared question the prices, quality, where it was made, etc as haters.

The sack of potatoes in the cold storage is just an example of how they waste money. Ellie said they don't eat that many potatoes, but they bought a huge ass 50 lb bag of potatoes. It's just wasteful!! All the ones in the bottom of that sack need to be thrown away, they are nasty!!!
Wonder what they were blurring out on the picture organizing stuff? LOL at "eyebrows before and after" needing their own folder, she gonna print those out and put them in a book?

No we wouldn't object to medical treatments of any sort. As I mentioned over the weekend and others agreed, I think the eye procedure was a sponsored deal. He specially named the place doing it, had a link to the place and videoed the whole procedure. As someone posted, it was probably originally going to be a sponsored deal for Jared and his brother in law but the other guy couldn't have it done on his eyes.

So I'm bored and procrastinating taking my online finals so I've been watching their videos from Jackson's pregnancy and when he was a baby. I think Ellie and Jared (and some of the other Griffiths siblings) are a perfect example of money turning humble people greedy. They weren't and they aren't saints, but at least when these people were poor and living a down to earth lifestyle you could see they were more grateful for what they did have. I still get slightly emotional when I watch their reaction to finding out they were pregnant with Jackson, those were real honest tears they were crying. They used to be humble and that's what made people watch. Same with Bonnie, people loved her before she became "youtube famous" because she was humble and real. Now it's all just a show and "look what we just bought, Heavenly Father loves us more than you!"

It was weird bc it kept moving all over the place too, like sometimes it was covering what drives were connected to the computer (which why the need to blur that? I mean....maybe....but it wouldn't make any sense. Your deductible will be met whether it's $5000 for a baby or $5000 of other medical procedures (just an example of what the deductible might be). If they met the deductible with the baby then they could get full coverage for these other procedures afterwards or vice versa. It really doesn't make a difference as they're paying out the same amount with these procedures or the birth.

A bit late to this comment but the only thing I could consider affecting the insurance/deductible is if they have a percentage co-pay up to deductible (like 20% of cost up to $5k deductible.) So if they do all the smaller procedures, the 20% is smaller chunks at a time as apposed to 20% of the giant pregnancy/hospital bill. Yes, they end up spending the same but it doesn’t hurt as much.

This payment options was on some plans when I was shopping for insurance a few months ago.

My favorite thing to laugh at Ellie about is how she tries to do the Griffiths food hoarding thing but fails miserably. The potatoes are a perfect example. Who buys a 50lb bag of potatoes for a family of 4 (2 of whom are very young)? Especially THIS family, her portions are absurdly small, but yes let's stock up on POTATOES which go bad pretty quickly. Even in cold storage, they are going to turn green and get mushy, which yeah, it's not going to KILL you to eat that, but it can give you a pretty wicked stomachache. Now they are going to end up throwing away half those potatoes, which defeats the purpose of buying in bulk altogether.

Like the time she bought a year's supply of every toiletry item they use just because she didn't know what to spend money on that week. Usually people wait for that stuff to go on sale before stocking up, building it up over time. She's so dumb.
