I'm in NJ and we have them libraries here too. There's also a lot of companies specifically for children's play around me but I wouldn't know about the church thing, I'm agnostic.things2say wrote:The little boy I nanny for is 15 months and I've taken him to storytime/playgroups ever since he was 6-7 months. I'm in canada and there are four baby/toddler/kids groups a week an that's just at one location, there are a lot. So in sure she could find something. And I agree with the person above, I don't think she has her van anymore why would they all crowd into Chris' car with car seats when she could easily just put them I her van and have lots more room. I wonder what happend to her van.
Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
This is my first time posting, but I've been reading here forever! I'm an atheist and live in a smaller city in Ohio, and there are many groups for all ages at libraries and playgrounds, as well as the local mall, and I'm sure there are many more held at churches, but I choose not to attend those ones, as there are so many more held at places that I'm more comfortable. There is also an indoor playground that has annual parties for each holiday, as well as events for kids to do crafts and play with other kids their age. My two godsons and niece have always loved going and socializing with the other kids, so we've never missed one. I've been taking them by myself since they were 1, 2, and 3, and I handle it just fine. It's totally worth the 'hassle' to see them have such a great time and enjoy the experience. I'm pregnant now and can't wait to take my son to events and to play groups and can't imagine depriving a child of those experiences for no real reason. She's in California, there's got to be all kinds of opportunities for those kids to play with other children their age and it's sad that they never get to do thatspacekitty wrote:I'm in NJ and we have them libraries here too. Sorry this post is so long! I just don't buy the excuses because I have always taken three kids by myself and they're not even my kids, so I'm not used to having them everyday the way she is! It's a cop-out.

Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
If Jess can't handle her 4 kids..how does she think she's going to be an elementary teacher?
Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
When I was 15 years old I was a full time babysitter for two boys, who were 3 and 6 at the time. My younger brother was 5, and I often brought him over to play with the other boys. I took them all sorts of places... we went to the library, to the movie theatre, to the park, etc. I never once had an issue keeping track of them or keeping them safe. It's tiring running after 3 young kids, but it's do-able. Jess is still quite young and I really don't understand why it's so difficult for her to take more than 1-2 kids out together at a time.
Maybe she should become a fan of shows like SuperNanny or Nanny911 instead of 19 Kids and Counting so she can get some ideas on how to discipline her kids if she can't handle them.
(btw, no idea if those shows have any legitimate advice for disciplining kids. But it seems like a good place to start lol)

Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
I wonder what would happen if, after a whole childhood of being SO gendered (like Lilia can ONLY play with girly toys and MUST be a princess and a ballerina and have everything in pink, and the boys MUST love cars and balls and sports an #boyswillbeboys and shit).. what in the future Lilia turned out to be a lesbian, (one of) the boys to be gay?
I certainly don't see anything wrong with that, but I think Jess would be one of those parents who kicks out her children for being gay.

Also, I wonder what will happen once Lilia becomes a teen and gets pregnant #justlikemomma

Sorry but I find this extremely hard to believe. How were you a full time anything at 15 years old, didn't you have school? Do you mean on the weekends or something?RubyRed wrote:When I was 15 years old I was a full time babysitter for two boys, who were 3 and 6 at the time. Even then, I think its crazy that a parent would allow a 15 year old child to take 3 small children to the cinema or park unsupervised. Don't buy that at all...

I do not believe modesto is as bad/ghetto as you all say! I do not live far and my city is on the least educated list too but that does not mean the whole city is like that! There is the nice side of town and lots of educated people live there and even super rich people too. But theres also the nasty ghetto side with hoodrats walking around everywhere! To me it does not look like jess lives in the ghetto. JUST SAYING!!!!

We are all on the outside looking in. I live in my town which is a few over from a ghetto town, a lot of shootings and drug dealing. It's nicknamed as a warzone. The ghetto town used to be beautiful and it can be if you drive through in the daylight. Things can easily change.Waterbug wrote:I do not believe modesto is as bad/ghetto as you all say! Yeah, fair enough. It just seemed pretty bad at first, but I wrote that as I was watching the beginning (probably a mistake!). Anyway, I don't tend to always look for tiny little things wrong with Jess's decisions, but I just think that going to Disneyland again (twins or no twins) was such a bad idea on her part that I had no mercy in picking it apart. You're right though, Lilia perked up a lot later on!jedoc321 wrote:Oh come one "the poor thing" in Disneyland to see Princessess she loves (regardless of whether Jess forced them on her in the first place)Scrapple wrote:1. Notice the cut in footage just before Lilia's "squeal of excitement" in the surprise vid. I'll bet she got a right pep talk in the interim
2. The Disneyland video itself is just painful. The poor thing just isn't that excited anymore. Also I don't really like that buggy idea, cause that way she won't walk at all, she'll just sit in it.
EDIT: 3. Does Jess not realise how bad it is for a baby Landen's age to constantly have his sleep pattern disturbed? -_-
Stop trying to see the bad in every little thing Jess does especially when there is so much other things to focus on.
My baby is 2 months younger than Landen...theyre pretty adaptable

Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
I babysat at the age of 18 for THREE children, ages 4, 7, and 9. I drove them by myself to tae-kwon-do lessons, swimming at the local pool, hiking in woods nearby, to parks, walking around the neighborhood, picking the littlest up from daycare. Sure, it was was not the easiest thing ever as they were all boys with minds of their own, but I was a damn good babysitter that kept them in check. I always knew where they were. I never had any problems. And I was BY MYSELF with 3 children at 18. That's one less child than Jessica, but trust me, those boys had friends over all the time that I had to keep track of. I was watching 6 and 7 kids simultaneously sometimes. So, a 15 year old watching after a few kids full time isn't so hard to believe, especially if she was home schooled or if the parents needed her every day after her school.drunkunicorn wrote:Sorry but I find this extremely hard to believe. Re: FlabbyStabbyDoo #6KidsUnder6 #NowWithGuns
I told my boyfriend that Jessica took Lilia and Landen to Disneyland and not the twins and he started to defend her saying how difficult walking around Disneyland with 3 year olds would be.... Until I told him that their mom's way of making up for it was taking the twins to a monster truck expo that only one of them enjoyed..
His response: "SHE TOOK 3 YEAR OLDS TO A MONSTER TRUCK EXPO?! IS SHE A FUCKING MORON!? DOES SHE KNOW HOW LOUD THAT IS?!" proceeded by... "Yeah, that's not fair."

Ok chill out, I wasn't even addressing you so I don't know why you just told me your life story. The difference between an 18 year old and a 15year old is stark. I have no problem believing an 18 yr old could be a nanny, but 15? No. A 15 yr old babysitter, like on weekends or evenings in the kids home, yes. But not full time like the original poster suggested. "Every day after school" isn't full time, I assumed she meant 9-5 Mon-Fri. No need to jump down my throatAnonymousSource wrote:I babysat at the age of 18 for THREE children, ages 4, 7, and 9. I should have clarified, it was during the summers. I'm not lying, I promise. loldrunkunicorn wrote:Sorry but I find this extremely hard to believe. During the summer I babysat two boys from 9-4 pm from Monday to Friday. I live in a very safe area of Ontario, and I was a good kid. I had taken the babysitter's first aid course and had many years of casual babysitting under my belt, so she trusted me.
I hope that helps to clarify it a bit? Yes I was in school full time during the school year.
As for why she hired a 15 year old, I'm assuming it was because she was a single mom with a very low income. They were a great family and I loved working for them
