I would probably get a new doc as well, but I wouldn't be surprised that she only took his word for it to justify herself to continue to ignore it. What's done is done and nothing can change that but we all saw him struggling with his arm. I would of still taken him to the specialist to double, even triple check to see if leaving it was the best thing to do for the time being or come in monthly to check it was going smoothly. I know I'm coming of as a hard ass but I honestly thought Britney was better then that. But I could see she felt genuinely guilty with how she went around it and I hope she doesn't hurt herself emotionally over and over again about it because at least it's now something is getting done and he will be fine.applebutter_dreams wrote:First of all, if I were Britney, I would get a new pediatrician. The pediatrician is obviously just generalizing and doesn't seem to care about Nolan's well-being. I read that the surgery should have been done before 12 months. The pediatrician should have known that and have been more concerned. It's not every day that you see a baby missing a thumb.
Secondly, I also read that 86% of children with thumb hypoplasia have some kind of other abnormality. Usually with the heart, neurological, or with the blood. I wonder if this is what showed up in his blood work...
Poor baby. I cannot imagine what Britney must be going through. She must feel so much guilt...
I read with thumb hypoplaysia that while its recommended for surgery to be done before 12 months, there's no difference if he got it done after.
