Not for us they wanted us closer to the hospital so we had to live off base.mara7 wrote:Actually that is false. If they are married their chances of getting base housing is actually better because of her medical condition. They would be moved to the top of the list for housing on base because she has special medical needs. And the amount of money they would get for being married depends on what branch he is, and what state and area he gets stationed in. It varies depending on the cost of living in different areas.QueenBooBoo1216 wrote:Lily will not be able to be stationed anywhere overseas due to her medical problems. A really old family friend of ours is in the Air Force. Anyways, his wife has a heart condition which requires a certain medication. When he was deployed to the Middle East, his wife and kids couldn't go with him, because her medication was unavailable there.
Is this a common thing? Could this happen with Lily? I really hope it doesn't.

Also the chances of them getting housing on base is slim what would happen is they get I think around $800 for housing costs if they are married. They could still live together unmarried but they wouldn't get the money. They could try to marry after on a certain date but it's not guaranteed he can get leave he wouldn't know until right before.
