Because, as a poster above said, it goes beyond randoms abducting kids. Often there are custody or safety issues involved with people in the child's life and it's dangerous to be showing their face with the school's identity so easy to find. And it's not even just the teacher's name like the one poster talked about. Jess has posted numerous times where Lilia's school name is visible. I personally know of a case where the one family member has custody because the parents were unfit and those parents are a danger to the child. The family members keep their child completely off the internet and move often. This stuff is serious and here Jess is offering these children up on a platter. Sure it isn't very likely that the bad guy is watching Jess's videos and just happens to see the kid. But it really would take hardly an effort to blur the faces out just to be safe.Shawn2011 wrote:I'm not sure what the big deal is with her putting out info that could identify her location. Also I took the Landen comment as a joke because her children are passed around from daddy to daddy; man to man. My kids would never have touched the strange man with a ten foot pole; let alone lay their heads on his shoulder. It looked like Landen was saying "are you my new daddy?" It's not like we really thought Landen was convinced he was meeting his new dad.

I knew that comment was a joke, it was the ones that came after it saying he has been passed around and looked so confused.
Re: Jess, Alpine and Their Soon to Be Family of 9: Part 71
I agree that she should blur the faces of the other kids and I personally wouldn't exploit my son on YouTube for cash, but that doesn't explain why people are worried about Lilia's whereabouts being disclosed. She is not the subject of a custody battle and is not in hiding. It just seems super peranoid to me.HCB wrote:Because, as a poster above said, it goes beyond randoms abducting kids. I don't think the posters are saying Lilia is in hiding or in a custody dispute, I think they are saying it's possible some of Lilia's classmates that Jess filmed could be. I doubt Jess asked every child's parents if they were ok with their kids faces being shown to 300,000+ subscribersShawn2011 wrote:I agree that she should blur the faces of the other kids and I personally wouldn't exploit my son on YouTube for cash, but that doesn't explain why people are worried about Lilia's whereabouts being disclosed. Lilia might not know these people, but they know her. They've watched her since before she was born, watched as Jess details and chronicles her entire life. People become obsessed with family vloggers; there are fanfiction, role-playing accounts, etc. It's not at all far fetched to think that someone might take that obsession too far, and I think you're being incredibly ignorant claiming that there's no danger in excessive posts about your children online.

I don't care how long it took, it's still so creepy you even looked it up at all. Why is a grown ass person like yourself (I'm assuming you're an adult) taking time to look up a little girls school information?? Doing that makes you no better than all the creepers out there you claim to be so worried about.[/quote
Oh come on! i think the person was just making a point. Be very very careful about what you put on the internet. It is easy to find identifying information from one little piece of info. She/he was just proving how easy it is.

I sort of thought the way you did and made a comment about it here. But after thinking about it, i have concluded that it is possible that someone following Jessica could feel some weird emotional attachment to her, being on the internet and such. She has that video of breastfeeding twins with all sorts of comments from weirdos about her breasts. I can see the danger in it. There was alos a guy who put together a playlist of youtube moms' kids in diapers. He had a sort of fettish about it. So i could see someone having some sort of weird sick feelings about her kids and wanting to see them in real life, looking them up and watching them in real life or even worse. Ick. i feel yucky just thinking and typing about it.Shawn2011 wrote:I agree that she should blur the faces of the other kids and I personally wouldn't exploit my son on YouTube for cash, but that doesn't explain why people are worried about Lilia's whereabouts being disclosed. Re: Jess, Alpine and Their Soon to Be Family of 9: Part 71
I just wanted to butt in and say I can't believe someone is ignorant enough to believe that kidnapping children or stalking them is more attributed to ppl who are known to them. Some kidnappings are very random occurences, but intelligent criminals do a lot of planning, research, and stalking prior to kidnapping victims. Complete strangers at that. Any child or adult is subject to this when they share too much on the internet.
Re: Jess, Alpine and Their Soon to Be Family of 9: Part 71
But that person is right... Only one percent of child abductions are performed by non-family members. Not that it's an excuse for Jess to post a video of random childrens faces for thousands of people to see. As previous posters have said, a family member who is not allowed custody could wander accross Jess' video and be able to figure out where the child is. Its unlikely, but possible.
Re: Jess, Alpine and Their Soon to Be Family of 9: Part 71
I think the biggest issue with knowing where they are and where they go to school is, together with everything else she puts out there, anyone could find one of her children (god forbid) easily and convince them that they're friends with Jessica, or a member of the family and that it was Jess who asked them to pick them up from school (for example).
I choose to believe that she's got precautions set up for that eventuality (a 'password' for example) for my own peace of mind but we don't (and probably shouldn't) know that for sure.

Since no other mod has stepped in as of yet, I will interject my $0.02 - take it or leave it. Do I think that posting instructions on how to find a child's school of a person that I watch their videos on youtube is the right thing to do? No. With that being said, Jessica herself posted all of that information before (teacher's name, pictures of the outside of the school fence, town that they live in, what color and model of car she drives, etc.) so I don't think that anyone would find anything revolutionary while reading here. I won't be removing anything that I have seen so far from any of these comments, but I would ask for future comments that you use your grown up hats and think about if you would want someone talking about how to find your child like that. If you feel like this is not a valid decision and/or want to discuss this issue further, feel free to message me privately and we can talk about it. I am not married to the idea of leaving it up so if someone wants to debate the idea or if another mod wants to change my decision, I am open to the discussion.

Even with abductions to the side, how can people not be concerned about privacy and child safety with as many child predators there are in the world? Dear God, I fear for children who are raised with such naivety.
"Oh hunny. Dont worry about strangers in public. You're more likely to get kidnapped by Uncle Johnny than you are by them."---that's how that rationale comes across

To be honest it's pretty creepy you took the time to look all of that up.
It didn't take any longer than 30 seconds. Just type the teachers name and 'Modesto' into google search and the school name comes up with a photo of the school and the gate around it as the top option. It literally took 10 seconds. 10 seconds for anyone to find out where this girl goes to school. This is what I am saying. Imagine someone putting in a lot of effort! She has really compromised her child's safety and she doesn't seem to care! She needs to take a leaf out of Britney or even Vanessa's book and learn that we don't need to know EVERY detail of where her children participate in activities etc.
I was making a point. As other users have said here. Jess should realise how easy it is to find her children. She tells us all the time what time Lilia, goes to school, what time she finishes etc etc. Jess has got a LOT of obsessive fans. Any one of them could turn up to that school and convince Lilia she is a friend of Jessica. We know pretty much everything we would need to know to convince her we are one of her friends. Jess puts this information onto the internet with no consideration for who is watching. You said "no better than all the creepers out there".......don't you get it? Thankfully I am not a 'creeper' but if I was, and I had poor intentions, I know what time she is coming out of school and also which school and which gate to be at ready. This is what am I trying to say. I really hope that Jess reads this message and realises what jeopardy she is putting her children into. She seems to think that she is invisable. I don't like the woman but I would never wish harm on any of those kids, and she needs to learn to protect their privacy better!

Re: Jess, Alpine and Their Soon to Be Family of 9: Part 71
I agree with this as well. Aside from the fact that someone could have an obsession with her kids specifically, I mean someone could snatch anyone's kids at any time. What creepers get from her videos they could still get from driving by a school every day or stalking a specific family. I'm not saying don't worry about your kids safety but just know that shit can still happen and kids were getting abducted looooong before the Internet and YouTube was around.Shawn2011 wrote:I'm not sure what the big deal is with her putting out info that could identify her location. That's probably true for the average child but considering she's some what youtube famous (bc of the kids) they're a bigger target. Knowing the locations days and times of school and activities could even just attract fans that just want to meet them which may be harmless but still would make me uncomfortable tbh.Shawn2011 wrote:I'm not sure what the big deal is with her putting out info that could identify her location. She's put Lilia on the internet wearing a tshirt with the name of her teacher on it. One quick google search has brought up the name of the school Lilia attends and also the address. Google maps confirms the school because the gate around the school matches the one we frequently see in her videos. Why can't Jess, for once in her life, put the camera down or at least filter the clips so we can't see things like that. Also, why on earth did she think it acceptable to put other peoples children on the internet for millions to see?!? Especially as we now know what school they all go to!
Did you just compare her to a creeper? Huh, aren't you creepy too since you watch and discuss another person's life you don't even know.
It's not like she posted the info. Chill.
