Whatever it takes to get him to school, they should do it. Have Mimi and Papa get him ready on school day and take him. They could pretend that Ollie is going to start staying the night with them a couple of nights a week because they need to bond. They could pull some excuse out of their ass. All that matters is that they aren't completely screwing their kid over.tintin15 wrote:Who needs to spend money on a nanny when you can constantly pawn your kids off on relatives?
They would probably make them take him to school/daycare if they did enroll him or have them accompany them when dropping him off lol

I agree, they should do whatever is necessary that makes them send him to school, but it would still be pretty terrible of them to cop out of taking him there themselves.Lovethesnark wrote:Whatever it takes to get him to school, they should do it. Since he'll be 4 next year, I'm hoping they'll put him in Pre-K like most parents do these days, but part of me thinks they won't. They might wait until kindergarten. I don't think I've seen any videos where they talk about schooling, so I can't be sure about what they'll do...as long as they don't home school him. With as much as they "teach" him now, that would be disastrous for him.
This tweet from Bryan last August: we may homeschool or do private for the first couple years.

I think they last time they spoke about it, they said they intend to send him to a private school. I bet when it's time to enroll him, something will come up and they'll end up home schooling him after all. The kid is still in diapers so that might be a problem too.
Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
I know most home schooled kids turn out fine socially but (his parents complete lack of ability to teach him aside) I think Ollie could really do with the social interaction, not to mention structure, that school would provideLovethesnark wrote:I think they last time they spoke about it, they said they intend to send him to a private school. When they go shopping on a daily basis and buy a "surprise toy" for Ollie all the time.....is it really something new for their viewers to see? The only cute thing about the vlog today seeing Finn making cute little noises towards the end of the video.

Its been a couple of years since I have had a baby but, shouldn't Finn be in a soft sole shoe? He's only 10 months c and walking about in heavy hard soles, with hardly any flexibility.

Yes he should be in soft soled or none at all. I feel missy got tired of everyone complaining he didn't have shoes, but now he has the wrong kind.spotsanddots wrote:Its been a couple of years since I have had a baby but, shouldn't Finn be in a soft sole shoe? Home school ONLY works if the parents understand curriculum, and how to implement it, but more importantly enroll their children in outside social activities. (again, hanging with the Johnson fam doesn't count).\tgo93 wrote:I know most home schooled kids turn out fine socially but (his parents complete lack of ability to teach him aside) I think Ollie could really do with the social interaction, not to mention structure, that school would provideLovethesnark wrote:I think they last time they spoke about it, they said they intend to send him to a private school. Considering they lack the ability to spell basic things, and they have no real world knowledge, it would be a huge negative for him to stay home.
That's because in reality, nothing can replace a trained teacher. I know people can read things online, and think they can easily do it, but it's MUCH more difficult than people think.Lovethesnark wrote:They don't vlog their entire day. He would be almost home from school when they normally get up and start their day. I think a couple of days a week would work wonders for him. Even one day a week would help. Do they expect to keep him home until kindergarten then push him into a classroom setting? He won't adjust well and will likely fall farther behind. The idiots from the Daily Davidsons have done the same thing to their son. He barely passed the placement test for kindergarten. His mother had attempted to do some home schooling with him and he's still behind. He's a bright kid. I don't think it was an issue of him not knowing the things he was tested on, he just didn't know how to interact with the teacher. Ollie could be in the same situation or worse because no one is trying to teach him anything.
We all know how much Missy thinks she is a know-it-all however.
Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
Absolutely it's for the 5 year old viewers. Similar concept to the toy box opening videos that rack up millions of views from little kids. For some reason, they eat that stuff up. Often when they don't record much for the day (because they are so "busy" with errands) they'll buy a new toy and spend half the vlog opening it, talking about it, and playing with it. They do it in a less obvious way than s straight up unboxing video but it's very clear what they are going for. I mean today's toy sure didn't have a lot of effort put in to it (I mean come on it was just a squishy ball) but somehow half the vlog was dedicated to it. I'm sure the tags included toy unboxing key words. There's a reason their subs are growing so fast....they've figured out the right YouTube formula (appeal to kids with Ollie and the pets, lots of toys and Disney trips, and showing off an extravagant dream life that is totally unattainable for most kids) and are using it to their advantage big time. From a business standpoint, they are very smart and make many calculated moves. They definitely know what they are doing with every toy video.brownprincess93 wrote:When they go shopping on a daily basis and buy a "surprise toy" for Ollie all the time.....is it really something new for their viewers to see? I think they will probably send Ollie to preschool when: Finn will become more entertaining to watch, baby #3 comes, or if Bryan suddenly thinks that sending your kid to pre k is the 'hip' thing to do

Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
Another toy bought aside, I actually watched the vlog today and it was the first time I enjoyed one of their vlogs in a long time. They didn't grate on me so much and seemed like they almost liked each other.
I did get a little annoyed when they said the boys were at Mimi and Papa's. I guess Ollie would have been too rowdy for their errands and the dance recital? They would have had to buy him a toy to get him to sit still...oh, wait...they bought him a toy anyway. Granted, those tomato splat things are, like, a dollar...but still.
And I agree, Finn should DEFINITELY be in soft soled shoes or none at all. He just started actually walking ffs.

It was at their house. They went out to lunch and met her parents there. So they switched cars from the restaurant.Bumblebee93 wrote:Why did Missy and Bryan take Mimi and Papa's car? what happened to their second car?
River: They weren't cows inside. They were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see the sky and they remember what they are.

Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
I don't know if this was already mentioned but in "playing with chickens" video at 2:45 Ollie is standing up in the cart seat. Missy was at the other side of the cart getting carrots and there would be no way she could've caught him if he fell. Why do no youtubers put the cart seatbelt on their kids?? So unsafe!

Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
It is ridiculous that he gets new toys literally every single day. If its $1-$100 toy it doesnt matter. Hes spoiled rotten. He wasnt upset that missy told him he couldnt get a toy because he wasnt good at the dentist, because he knows he has every toy ever made lol. He has nothing to excite him anymore.

Re: DailyTrappedInMarriage Part 71
There's a new, very young mom (about 18/19) I'm friends with on Facebook. She posted a picture of her daughter the other day, who is just over 3 months old, slipping down out of her bouncy seat and captioned it "She figured out how to get out of her seat". Um... no. You never buckled her in, she squirmed and slipped down. A couple of her other friends asked about her being buckled in (though you can tell from the picture she wasn't) and someone said she's too chubby to be strapped in anymore. Oy. Anyway, it totally reminded me of the time Ollie fell out of his stroller at the airport because he wasn't buckled in.Laura is dope 23 wrote:I don't know if this was already mentioned but in "playing with chickens" video at 2:45 Ollie is standing up in the cart seat. Guess the car with the red/black interior was a rental after all.
