JesssFam: Just the Right Mix of Boobies & Booze (Part 84)
Re: JesssFam: Just the Right Mix of Boobies & Booze (Part 84
I'm a doctor and while i definitely don't know everything there is to know, and don't know the specific details of what happened with Addy, i do know it's extremely uncommon for a seizure to cause what Jess described. Seizures in infants are absolutely terrifying for parents to witness, but they usually stop within a few minutes and it's rare for them to cause a child to stop breathing or turn blue and unresponsive. If Addy had had an unwitnessed seizure, Jess may have found her a bit drowsy, grizzly and in a different position than she'd left her, or she may even have had no idea that Addy had had a seizure. Both of those outcomes are far more likely than a child stopping breathing and turning blue following a seizure. If she HAD had a seizure, it would either be due to a brain abnormality or a febrile seizure. Febrile seizures are almost always harmless, resolve quickly and only occur in the setting of a fever and very rarely in a child <6 months old. Easy to exclude. Jess said all the tests Addy had came back normal, so they would have excluded a brain abnormality by now which could potentially (but rarely) have caused a more serious seizure leading to the state in which Jess found Addy.
The first thing any doctor would consider in an infant who had been found blue and not breathing would be a heart condition, which is why Addy would have had EKG leads attached. She would also have had an echocardiogram at the children's hospital, and Jess said these found no abnormalities. Next, you would consider breathing difficulties which, in a child Addy's age would almost always be due to infection, which would be easy to exclude in her by listening to her lungs, checking her temperature and ordering a few basic blood tests. Next you would start considering less likely causes - perhaps meningitis leading to septic shock, but again you'd expect the child to have a fever and Jess said Addy had a lumbar puncture which excluded this.
I can guarantee by this point any doctor would be considering asphyxiation and asking the parents about risk of this - Jess would have been asked about where and how Addy was sleeping. Jess isn't stupid. I think her life is out of control and she is making irresponsible choices, but she's not stupid. She is well aware of the risks of Addy sleeping on her stomach, and she probably lied to the doctors (and herself) about this. The doctors would only consider a seizure because they've excluded all the more likely causes.
'Pre-SIDS' is not a thing. SIDS is sudden infant death in any case when the cause can't be identified retrospectively on autopsy - commonly this is due to asphyxiation which is why there is so much education about babies sleeping on their backs, avoiding excessive bedding, cot bumpers etc. The fact that SIDS deaths have reduced since this indicates how many of those deaths were previously due to asphyxiation. You can't have pre-sudden-unexplained-death. You can have a child that very nearly died of asphyxiation, who was extremely lucky to be found at just the right time. I think the doctors looking after Addy would be aware of this, and what they are calling 'pre-SIDS' to Jess is what they are actually considering to be near-asphyxiation... I'd be very surprised if there isn't a CPS investigation, especially considering Jess probably showed up to the same Emergency department with Kaden a few days ago, and was probably admitted there herself after her homebirth with Addy. Who knows how many other ER visits she's had with the kids but it hardly paints the picture of a capable, responsible parent.
As much as I feel Jess put Addy at risk by putting her to sleep on her stomach, and that is almost certainly the cause of this very close call, I genuinely feel really sorry for her. This would have been completely terrifying for her, and you could tell in her video she feels guilty, knows she could be responsible for this and knows she's put evidence of that all over social media. She must be so scared right now.
I think she's ruined her life before she had the maturity to fully understand what she was doing. She now has 5/7 kids to look after, she's married to a man she doesn't really love just because he was her last hope at a 'perfect blended family', she's finally had her baby girl and she's still not happy or fulfilled, hence all the drinking and partying of late. Meanwhile she is unable to meet her kids needs and it was really only a matter of time until something like this happened. It really is just a miracle it wasn't worse.

Here's a link. I don't think CPS will get involved, unless Jess is lying (big surprise) and the doctors do think it's from improper sleeping. I just hope Jess gets a smack upside the head and some sense knocked into her. She literally knows better.

Totally not Jessica related but what's Taylor up to these days? I've literally not heard anything about her since she had her third? Just a brief summary will do as I'm sure if I look at her page on her I'll get lost lolYue195 wrote:Thank you- my understanding is CPS will investigate if the circumstances are suspicious or constant.
I mean look at TaylerTragedy, her kids are literally in a pisspoor situation and CPS did jack.

I feel like she told the doctors that addie was sleeping on her stomach and instead of admitting she covers her in blankets she blamed one of the kids wanting to tuck her in or something and Jess not knowing
Re: JesssFam: Just the Right Mix of Boobies & Booze (Part 84
My friend has 3 kids and one of them fell off the playground and broke his arm a couple days later her other kid had a bad asthma attack and because there was two incidences in a week even though the daughter does have asthma CPS was called and they did a home investigation and a parent interview nothing ended up happening after that but they did want to make sure the home was safe and the parents stable

GUUUUURL; her and Chuckie broke up, she claimed he tried to rape her, she charged him Domestic Violence, got divorced, got a protection order against him, started shit with his family, Herron clan came on here wanting evidence to fight custody, dick hopped from dude to dude, met this bloke called Kevin, got PREGNANT TO HIM, had names and shit picked out, broke up with him, aborted the baby 2 days away from entering her second trimester because she felt "nothing", is back with Chuckles and is fucking pregnant again two months after an abortion because she " really really wanted another baby" even though she said she was in a shit situation with the last pregnancy and wasn't right to bring in another baby aka it had the wrong father. Her and Sara are acting like they are best buddies, pretending Chuckie isn't the father because she conceived this damn kid while a protection order was up and is possibly having CPS or courts starting to follow her trail of shit parenting and life skills. Is all acting like everything is all hunky dory now when really she's an even more piece of shit human being.

What you're saying isn't right. My friends baby girl is 8 weeks old and she's been in the hospital the past weeks. She was found blue and not breathing. The paramedics had to reanimate her. In the hospital they found out that she had a seizure which caused her to stop breathing. Further testing showed that she suffers from a heart condition which caused her seizure and her not breathing anymore. She's no longer in the nicu, finally breathing again but she's got a long rocky road ahead of her.dranya wrote:I'm a doctor and while i definitely don't know everything there is to know, and don't know the specific details of what happened with Addy, i do know it's extremely uncommon for a seizure to cause what Jess described. ^^ I agree, babydustfairy. A seizure itself wont cause you to stop breathing but if something is obstructing your airway (like if something was in your mouth when you being seizing or if you are on your stomach/wrapped in blankets) or a pre existing condition then it makes sense you would be blue/not breathing.
Jess never called it "pre-sids" she called it aborted SIDS, which is absolutely a thing. She was dying and Chris found her/saved her. It probably isnt a medical term but I can definitely see the doctors using that term to try and explain it to parents.
I mean, Im no doctor but that is just my opinion.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friends baby, I hope she improves. The key difference between the two is the heart condition. I obviously don't know your friend's baby's case, but what it sounds like is that this is what's called a cyanotic heart condition, which can result in hypoxia (low oxygen) in infants. Hypoxia then causes lack of oxygen to the brain, and that in turn can cause seizures. So the seizure might occur at the same time as the baby becoming blue/stopping breathing, but it's not actually the seizure that caused it. But again, I don't know that case so I don't want to make assumptions, that's just how it sounds.
The difference with addy as that Jess said all her tests for any other condition came back normal. I guess what I should say is that in an otherwise normal infant, with no pre-existing heart or neurological abnormality, it's very rare for a single, one-off seizure out of the blue to lead to a blue, unresponsive child requiring CPR.

CPS does not WANT to take kids away and at least in my state, they try not to until conditions are completely unsafe for kids. Maybe CPS will also get her to check her kids Iron, jussayin!Blackswan wrote:Sometimes CPS just do routine visits. They don't always try to take children away. I'd be interested to see the results of her sleep study. I was thinking that she may have had a weird breathing pattern in the first place, but noone noticed it and all the blankets and sheets made it worse. Also, I hope she stops putting so many bows on her head, since she's somehow sold on the idea that it might have been a seizure. Keep that little babyhead free of any pressure, unless it's cold and you have to put a warm little hat on...please!

Yep, people are confusing different types of seizures, I think. I think people are thinking epileptic seizures, but this is more like cardiogenic syncope, reflex anoxic seizure, reflex asystolic syncope, and/or convulsive vasovagal syncope. That type. That baby definitely suffocated and if she did have a seizure, it was definitely one of these types!dranya wrote:I'm really sorry to hear about your friends baby, I hope she improves. Re: JesssFam: Just the Right Mix of Boobies & Booze (Part 84
I agree with anyone saying CPS will investigate. They may not do much but they will probably look into it. My nephew had a true "freak accident" at daycare as a baby. His femur was broken and CPS was all over my sister's family. It was very clearly an accident (he got his foot stuck in the pocket of a daycare worker and she went to set him down or adjust how she was holding him and his fragile baby bone was fractured.)
The point is, unless something has changed in 15 years, CPS will at least look into the situation. Especially when added to the ER trips made with her other kids (Kaden especially.)

I've never understood why SIDS and suffocation are put into the same category.
If a baby suffocates due to being facedown and buried in blankets, nothing about that is random, sudden, or unexplained.
