The government requires a wage of at least $2.13 per hour be paid to employees that receive at least $30 per month in tips. If wages and tips do not equal the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour during any pay period, the employer is required to increase cash wages to compensate.whattheactual wrote:That's illegal. i understand tipping waiters because the get paid minimum wage or close to it. Nurses, and especially doctors, make good money. Jess wasn't even in the hospital for that long, she was there for like 5 days. I could see someone sending in something if they spect months in the hospital, but not a couple days.
Waiters and waitresses are always getting something around the $2-3 range in my area.
