It is a yeast infection, but it doesn't necessitate an ER visit. It's harmless.

Also if it's milk residue it will wipe away, if it doesn't it's thrush. No diff between breast and formula.

Urgent care but I would wait for the nearest doctor appointment. Urgent care places and ers are usually so germy. If his tongue is just white, that is normal for breastfed babies.

It's common amongst neonates. They're immunocompetent. Its curdy white growth and needs anti fungals like Nystatin twice a day. She could call her pediatrician and can coordinate in setting up an appointment. Sooner the better.

Jeez are most of you in the states? Where you have to pay for any medical care?
I'm in Canada and you don't go to the ER or urgent care unless you're dying
