She says what she saw in no way equated to concerning abuse, and that playful teasing can actually be a beneficial part of a family's bond (play, not bullying). It's all about the child's reaction. Playful banter or teasing, can actually be a bonding factor if the child isn't overly sensitive or being bullied. In this case she didn't feel Bonnie showed any sinister intent by telling Cody the cactus story, and that she interpreted it as a mother adoring the innocence of her child. Not exploiting.
We also watched the egg prank vlog, the last 3 and a few of the others and she saw nothing to indicate Bonnie or Joel have Narcissistic tendencies (she has a different opinion of Ellie). She pointed out a few moments in the vlogs in particular that illustrate in particular the emotional attachment and connection Bonnie and Joel have with their children. (One in particular with Joel is when Linc ran over to him in yesterday's vlog and he had the drone. On seeing Linc he immediately stopped looking at the drone, bent down and kissed him).
She did think the seaweed joke was a bit far though, but again, didn't feel it indicated a need to control, shame, manipulate or embarrass. The comparisons to Daddy O Five she thought were reaching, unwarranted and dismissive of the abuse that Do5 is guilty of just from what is shown in the vlogs.
But clearly she hasn't watched all the vlogs, nor has she evaluated Bonnie and Joel on a personal level. I just thought it would be interesting to see what her formal/educated opinion is based on the interaction.
I am mostly trying to imagine you inviting your friend over and asking her to watch a handful of YouTube vids lol. I'd be way too embarrassed to let my friends know how I follow some families on YouTube. Or follow anyone on YouTube.
I agree that the cactus and seaweed things are relatively harmless and in good fun. The two things I don't like is how often we have seen her "torture" the kids. That's not as big of a deal as what lsmmomsd (lmao by now you'd think I knew exactly what your username is!!!)said, that different is weird. Like way to go to set your children to be an American stereotype.
On another bitchy note: I hate the matching outfits between Bonnie and Olivia in the video. Olivia looked way uncomfortable in those skin-tight shorts that kept riding up. She was even waddling in some clips due to the awkward ride-up. And Bonnie looks like an overgrown toddler when she wears that romper. I think most of it has to do with her sandal choices. They typically are kind of tacky with big flowers. Not all her clothes are like that. I find that she dresses pretty nicely and in flattering clothing 92% of the time!
