Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
Hi Everyone. I am new to commenting but have been reading the posts for several months. I found Bonnie's YT channel by way of the video where she was coming out of anesthesia after her tonsils were removed. Around the same time I started watching 8Passengers by way of the Eve video of her learning to get out of her crib. Then the rest of the families vlogs started showing up under recommended videos by YT. It took a bit of time to realize they were all related. Initially I watched mostly 8Passengers because of Eve. Then Bonnie because of Boston. I enjoy watching videos of toddlers because they are the most honest in what they say and do, up until the age of 3 or 4. Sadly after that age I have noticed that the parents start prompting and scripting them in what they say and do. Of all the Griffith's siblings I historically have enjoyed and watched Bonnie's the most. I have never liked Ellie and Jared videos. They all seemed over the top, showy and planned. Although I do occasionally watch them using fast forward and skipping through parts without the toddlers.
As someone else mentioned it was a joy to see Tuesday's video (5/16) allowing Lincoln to be a toddler. He has been fun to watch grow up. His newly learned scowl is very cute. I have seen Jackson and Eve with the same scowl. Lincoln seems to have learned it earlier in age then the other kids. I think he has picked it up by watching his cousins Eve and Jackson videos. I also think he should be speaking some basic words more clearly now and without prompting, but being the youngest in the family myself and also a late speech bloomer, I understand why he doesn't. He only needs to point and grunt and either the parents or older kids will immediately respond and give him what he wants, so no need for him to speak. My mother told me that when I did start speaking it was in full sentences. It will be interesting to see what happens with Boston (and Calvin who seems even further behind Boston even though several months older).
I also think that Bonnie and Joel will be having another child in maybe three years when Lincoln is grown out of his cute innocent phase and is ready to enter kindergarten and all the kids are out of the house during the day. They will need it to keep their viewer numbers up and the money coming in. Without the toddlers in all these families there would not be much of interest except to the kiddie and tween audience. Without any toddlers at home Bonnie and Joel are going to have to get out of their bubble and comfort zone and create interesting content without the kids.
I also see them selling their home for more space, especially if they do have, another child and also to have something to vlog about that might be interesting. Plus by then all the other siblings will have moved into a bigger and better home and they will feel the need to do the same. They can't possibly continue to keep their kids out of school to travel in order to have something new and interesting to vlog; or maybe they will by way of getting a tutor to home school and travel with them. Which for their kids I think would be a huge mistake. Plus would be over the top pretentious.
Has anyone else noticed that in the past four weeks both Bonnie and Olivia appear to have put on several pounds, especially Bonnie. Maybe it was the dress she wore for Mothers that made her look larger than usual. I have seen it on Bonnie before, but this time it looked like the dress was glued to her with no room to move. I am guessing both Bonnie and Olivia will be getting new wardrobes very soon.
While I was shocked to see them traveling again so soon to Disneyland it was nice to see Boston happy and blooming. He is so precious. Sometimes I think his parents are harder on him then the other kids and Lincoln gets away with things that Boston would not. Overall I think they are raising their kids nicely to be respectful and kind to others.
Has anyone else noticed that Ellie and Jared are now promoting Bonnie's channel. Up until a few months ago none of Ellie or Jared siblings were listed under their "Featured Channels". This makes me think that Bonnie and Jared have been signed on under contract to the same management company as her sister.
Lastly worth noting - much of the expenses they incur in their every day life, (traveling, auto gas, home improvements etc) can be written off as a business expense on their taxes because it is used to produce their business income. It is a sweet deal to earn their living this way!
Hope you found my post/comments interesting and worthy of this discussion board.

Oh, Bonnie, ringworm doesn't go away overnight.... SMH. I'm glad she's not a doctor. And I'm glad Joel is there to correct here. I do wonder if he ever gets tired of her being SO stupid.

I'm sure not everyone knows about ringworm. I've never had it, and only know about it from Googling.ewokfan11 wrote:Oh, Bonnie, ringworm doesn't go away overnight.... SMH. Ha, it definitely seems like Joel is getting a little frustrated with Bonnie. The first time I really noticed it was right before they left for Disney and she was going on about MY baby. And then again today when she said it was a mild case of ringworm and he goes, no Bonnie it doesn't go away over night, its a fungus.
hahaha, the look on his face, he totally looked like he was annoyed with her for being so stupid and being so adamant she is right when its not even possible!

It's an interesting and still new dynamic in their relationship, having them both home together 24/7. Other vloggers have been doing it for years so I wonder how things are behind the scenes, what with Bonnie being so *ahem* spirited and the channel essentially being her start up company/channel. That old phrase familiarity breeds contempt comes to mind lol.FakingIt_MakingIt wrote:Ha, it definitely seems like Joel is getting a little frustrated with Bonnie. No, but wouldn't you look it up before yammering about it on a vlog? Google is right there on her phone.HelloSweetie wrote:I'm sure not everyone knows about ringworm. WTH??! Bonnie is stupid. I have no idea if you are stupid or not. LOLHelloSweetie wrote:I'm sure not everyone knows about ringworm. I was just saying she has 4 kids (it's VERY common for kids to get) and some idea of what ringworm is, but thinking it could clear up overnight is typical Bonnie brain. She's lucky she has Joel, who seems like the smart and sane one - but he DID use ringworm as clickbait.

Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
I think their relationship is pretty typical married couple relationship? Now that they're both home, maybe Joel will feel more incentive to start a business if he and Bonnie are getting on each other's nerves? Personal space is so important! Dont get me wrong, I've been married for 6 years and we have a more or less normal relationship (whatever normal is- we're happy with our "normal" ) but we need space especially with our kids...I like Bonnie and Joel for *how honest they seem to appear* about their marriage. Im not naieve that they're editing a lot out but compared to the other vloggers they are pretty open. They do say when they fight, how bad it was, we can see when they're getting on each other's nerves, kids' homework situation when they are frustrated... etc. I kind of like that they expose that.

I was talking to my grandma about Hawaii and found myself calling Palm Trees, "Pine" trees. Then I realized it was because they kept mentioning Bonnie calling the trees that in Hawaii throughout the trip. Dammit, Bonnie. You've rubbed off on me.

I was confused by Bonnie's lack of education about ringworm. Didn't she used to be in the medical field? I would have thought she would have a basic understanding of ringworm.

She's trained to draw blood and perform basic CPR from what I understand. I don't think they delve into fungal infections, etc for that certification.beachygirly wrote:I was confused by Bonnie's lack of education about ringworm. Didn't she used to be in the medical field? Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
I think they're both a little dim when it comes to common skin conditions. Bonnie thinks ringworm can clear up overnight, and Joel thought it was a bruise from the rake? Why would a bruise look like that?
Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
I thought Bonnie was a "beautician" prior to having kids. When was she in the medical field and what did she do?
Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
Boston seems like he has grown up so much suddenly. He looked happy, confident and calm in today's video (5/17). He spoke less babyish and was adorable sitting in his dad's lap. I just adore that boy.

Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
Yep, I'm confused about that too. She's also mentioned she used to travel a lot for her "old job." But the only job I've heard her mention was doing hair.snkjdgs wrote:I thought Bonnie was a "beautician" prior to having kids. When was she in the medical field and what did she do?
Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
When did she have time to be a phlebotomist? I don't think that's true, because wouldn't that make more money than cutting hair?

She used to be a phlebotomist and an EMT. I'm not sure what the timeline of her doing those jobs was, though.

Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
I don't think she was an EMT. There's a bunch of confusion about what she used to do, but she's too uninformed about too many medical things to have been an EMT. And when they were removing Lincoln's stitches in Hawaii, Joel made a comment about how they should have paid attention to the way the "medical professionals" restrained him, because "professionals know best", and if Bonnie had actually been a medical professional, that would have been a weird statement.beachygirly wrote:She used to be a phlebotomist and an EMT. Re: Bonnie and Joel: Not Your Average BonBon Part 11
I was trying to find out more about her past careers, and was looking at her blog. God, the grammar and spelling-- "babys", "a lone time" (why do they write a lone, but when they're talking about being a part of something, they say "apart"?) Anyway, found this picture of three year old Olivia with "Dr Pepper and Skittles"WTF? No wonder those kids have cavities! I am not a perfect parent, but my kids didn't drink Dr Pepper when they were little! And adding Skittles to it-- ick! Sugar rush city! They love their Skittles, don't they? Lincoln is certainly into them. Who gives a baby a big bag of Skittles, even for a short period?
