As an American I'm super curious based on comments around this thread... What is the reputation of Tasmania / Tasmanian residents among other Australians?

From what I've gathered, they're "inbred", have low IQs, simpletons. I'm thinking they're probably what we'd call rednecks.

She needs new ideas of getting more views. Getting sympathy might be one of it. Must make a vlog and half of it show Rufus being sick. People especially her fans did that. Awwww poor babies bla3. Don't be surprised if that is why she admitted the trips have speech delay.

Harsh! I live in melbourne but my family is from Tassie. It really is beautiful there, although has a dark history (related to colonisation and genocide of the Aboriginal people who lived there). The original reputation is around them being "bogans" and "inbred" due to its remoteness however this is changing as more maindlanders are moving there! It's a beautiful island, the city is really interesting and "cultured", the only reason I wouldn't live there is the cold!

I have to say there will he some 'rednecks' everywhere. Tasmania is a beautiful place for sure. But Chloe seemed to be growing up in a bubble. Shame she deleted her tumblr.

She always zooms on her kids' faces because they're cute but ... their faces are always dirty especially around their mouth and nose and she doesn't care about it. Last time she zoomed on Felix' face his face was really really dirty. Also in the vlog about Rufus not feeling well, at 4:52 and after when she was talking to the camera there was an insect walking on the wall behind her. I really don't want to see what their toilet looks like even for 5000$. They really are disgusting.

Yeah the Tassie comments are just a bit of fun - despite its backward stereotype it's actually one of the most progressive Australian states these days
