I want to know, as I've seen a lot of bug buddies giving this reason, as to how exactly have they helped you?
Do you guys have no family/friends you can trust or talk to?
Just a 9 min funny vlog can help you deal with "depression". Are you diagnosed and on treatment and see counselers or solely depend on this 9min video?
What about the days they don't upload? How do you deal with your depression those days? Are you ungrateful just that day?
Thinking about ending your life doesn't exactly indicate suicidal ideation and depression. Theres lot to depression than just feel like ending life when you cant deal with a situation. You need a proper psych eval and help rather than a family who talk funnily and make weird faces.
As someone with mental health issues I can see youtube being a distraction to help ease suffering, but not a cure. I can also see it as one of those things that you love that you're holding on for, the thing you look forward to the most, which is fine for the short-term, but as others have said if you are feeling suicidal, please talk to a professional so you can get the help you need. Watching people you like is great, defend them if you feel you must. But coming onto a gossip site seems like it would only cause you more distress, this is the wrong place to come and try to white-knight your heroes, no one here is going to change their mind and you'll probably get banned.
Also, for clarification, I think people who come across this site to defend people they like don't get it, so I'd like to explain that we are all different people with different opinions, I don't think most of us
hate the people we gossip about and I think that's the biggest misconception. I see a lot of people say "I don't hate them, I just disagree with somethings they do" and that's all well and good, but I think the foundation is that we watch or have watched in the past and want to talk about the things we find annoying or their lapses in judgement. It's not a pleasant place to do that in the youtube comments section, that part of the internet is for you, this part is for us.
