Taking one for the team. Today's Vlog:
Lots of "fun, fun, fun"!
Spoiler: The big backyard makeover was the planting of a tree in the middle of the weird grassy part (I think), which will lead to fun memories forever and ever.
Beginning of the vlog- Ellie and Jared are setting up for a Girls Group churchy thing. It's all very fun. Ellie is climbing on a blow up slide thing and acting rather like an 8 year old.
They start talking about the new tree: "One of the main fun things about what we do is that we can look back on this footage". Ellie proceeds to fly the mini drone around the backyard, around each tree so they can see how they grow throughout the years or something. Jared makes the hilarious observation that the drone, which is referred to as 'spark', is just like Ellie- she sparkles!
Lots more talk about how great and fun the drone is.
Girls' party is over. "Did you have fun? What was your favourite part?" Halley is 'in disgrace' because she didn't go down the blow up slide.
Clean up after the party. It was all crazy, and sticky and stuff.
Calvin plays the ukulele.
Cut to another 'party', which involves eating pizza and chips ahoy cookies in the kitchen with the Mecham cousins. The only person who seems to find it fun is Jared.
Hot tub footage. Ha ha, we can see Jackson's bum! (Fortunately they blur it out)
Waxing sentimental about the trees, planning for chicken coops and a custom fence. Fun, fun, fun.
Jared clears the snot out of his nose with the neti pot. We get to watch the whole thing.
More fun. 17 references to fun, to be exact.

Honest question....

think of the best summer day.... how many times would you use the word "fun?" I feel like most people would just have fun and enjoy themselves, but wouldn't need to constantly vocalize it.

That bathtime product placement was painful to watch! It was so clearly filmed at another time as evidenced by Ellies squeaky laryngitis voice. How do they think that people won't notice that? I have a feeling they are getting anxious about their numbers dropping hence the product placements….

Why is Ellie ALWAYS in the thumbnail? If they are worried about attracting more views to the channel, why not focus on the boys more? I don't think they do it this way to protect the boys, but instead to promote Ellie. Assuming it's Jared that chooses the thumbnail everyday, I just can't figure out his reasoning do it always being Ellie.

Sometimes it's even multiple Ellie images!

I hate Ellie and Jared but did want to point out that Ellie has mentioned quiet a few times over the years that they like filming and making the vogs more about themselves then just the kids, so they {the kids} can lead normal day to day lives and not have a camera in their face or some shit lol

Reading through the comments on today's vlog... Lots of people are actually leaving "hate" comments about their vocabulary, Ellie's irritating voice, and how they barely show Jackson and Calvin in the vlogs anymore

That just seems very contradictory when they spent an entire vlog on Jackson getting stung by a bee. They want the vlogs all about them until one of the boys is hurt. Then it can be all about how Calvin stopped breathing or his neck issues. I'm not trying to be snarky. It's just that they are so obviously self-absorbed.

If they wanted the boys to lead normal lives they should leave them out of the vlogs all together. I love the vlogbrothers for instance. They both have children, and they might have all of 3 videos with their kids from the past 5 years of their kid's lives. That's a normal life for a kid. There are tons of vloggers who make interesting videos without exploiting their kids or filming them at all.
