Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
Thanks for realizing your kids need real friends, Chloe.
The more I think about homeschool I just don't get it. Letting them play like any other kid ever but calling it 'learning' as if all kids don't learn by playing/at home. Get real. (On that note, do any of these YT homeschoolers have any kids over the age of 10? Seems like they're all jumping on a trend, considering their kids are all under 6 or 7 years old and they've been homeschooling less than 2 years. Myka, I'm looking at you. And Chloe. And Britneyandbaby, I think?)
Like, when you put a kid in school his brain gets saturated with knowledge daily, and homeschooling is like forgetting to water something for 4 days and wondering why it's turning yellow.
If you're going to keep Evan home just to vlog, at least vlog how you educate him...???

Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
A lot of these homeschool groups want the parents to be very involved and hands on, usually for homeschool groups you're not supposed to just drop your kids off. Although, it wasn't clear to me from the vlog if she stayed or not, but I don't think it's that bad if she did. Especially for the boys very first time. Either way, at least they joined a homeschool group in the first place that's better than nothing.
I'll never understand when people say they can't stand Otto's hair, I think it's beautiful! Evans hair is always a curly mess but Otto has such nice thick hair.

Haven't watched the vlog, but I don't think it's weird if a parent stayed for the homeschool group. Usually they're set up co-op style so parents contribute in some way (obviously financially, but often helping out) and from what I've seen (I know quite a few homeschoolers in real life) usually it's a chance for parents and younger siblings to form friendships as well while the school aged kids are in a class. I can't exactly picture this awkward couple doing anything resembling socialising/helping out in a group but hey, in theory...!
Really glad to hear speech therapy is on the agenda!
I love it when people give a recap of the main points here, by the way! I don't even feel like watching them anymore. (Yet clearly am still morbidly curious enough to wonder what mostly boring/slightly cringey they're doing next.)

Yea it seems like Chloe stayed and maybe Ro had the others. I hope they switch off and Ro gets a chance to stay with the boys so maybe he can make friends too and have somewhat of a fucking break.

Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
JHouseVlogs homeschool and they have 5 kids, from a 10 year old to a baby. I think they do it really well though. The mother recently did a Q&A on instagram and talked about how they do group work in the morning, but to accommodate for the different ages, they make the engagement level at that of the youngest but the academic level at that of the oldest. That would be too much work for Chloe though, putting that much effort and planning into an activity
Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
How on earth can they afford to do all this? Having 6x kids in home school (eventually), 3x kids in speech therapy (which I know is covered by Medicare, but Medicare only covers so much), etc. She can also afford to buy like 20 avocados which are pretty pricey - wish i could do that lol
Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
The one vlogger I have nothing bad to say about! I think if any of us thought Chloe would put that kind of effort in, we wouldn't be so against her homeschooling.IfIFitsIStits wrote:JHouseVlogs homeschool and they have 5 kids, from a 10 year old to a baby. Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
Of course it was Chloe who stayed! That means she had to be driven there by Ro and with all four other kids. Who probably just hung around for a couple hours rather than being able to run around and have fun at home because this incompetent child-woman can't drive. If it's that big of an issue for her she should just accept that she's the one who should stay home with the babies and send Ro with the older kids to activities (at least SOMETIMES) or to the shops--he could even do that ALONE. Imagine that! He could leisurely stroll through the supermarket without being loaded up like a pack animal! Buy a coffee for himself alone rather than five billion bananas and babycinnos to keep the kids happy strapped in their pram! Maybe Chloe is afraid he'll get one taste of that kind of freedom and run wild...what if he started needing me time or wanted to eat a burger rather than stay home and clean and eat gruel and avocado?!Aboogabooga wrote:Yea it seems like Chloe stayed and maybe Ro had the others. I thought what Otto asked for sounded like a pretty normal meal, but then she squirted KETCHUP into it?! What?? Tomato sauce with chickpeas in it isn't weird at all. Ketchup and chickpeas is weird but that's not what he asked for? I was confused by that scene.
Anywho: yay for home school group and speech therapy!!

In Australia tomato sauce = ketchup. (That meal sounds disgusting.)gossipingloser wrote:I thought what Otto asked for sounded like a pretty normal meal, but then she squirted KETCHUP into it?! What?? Re: Showy Chloe, RohieDerella & Beans - Part 3
While I agree chloe is setting a horrible example for homeschooling, kids really do learn when homeschooling (unlike Chloes kids who play at parks and do occasional worksheets). My nephew was homeschooled (ever since he started school) and is studying to become an engineer and one of his friends is studying to become a doctor, and my nephew graduated hghschool almost two years early! And his little sister is 10 and is doing 9th grade science. There are people who come to their house once a year or something to check that the kids really are learning and are up to standard. I bet Chloe will fail their next homeschool evaluation because she literally is too lazy to do anything. She shouldn't be aloud to homeschool.fortwendy wrote:Thanks for realizing your kids need real friends, Chloe.

I realize now, being reminded of JHouseVlogs, that I didn't mean homeschooling, but the unschooling that Chloe is doing (or not doing...)julietpreston wrote:While I agree chloe is setting a horrible example for homeschooling, kids really do learn when homeschooling (unlike Chloes kids who play at parks and do occasional worksheets). Poor Ro wrangling the 4 other kids while Chloe sat around at the home-school meet up. I'm sure he would have had to drive her there and back too
A bit off topic but has anyone heard of Surprisedbyfive? She's another Perth Mum that had quintuplets and has started up on YT. She's so much more humbled by the attention than Chloe. Chloe just seems like an entitled teenager in comparison!

I have heard of her but didn't know she had YouTube.
Kind of rubs me the wrong way though that some families figure out they have a niche (trips, Quins) and decide to put their kids online to make some cash.
I don't know I find it strange.

Honestly I think this is just a new thing. People want to make money and they don't want to have to work long hours out of the house to do it. The internet is the best way to do it and I can't say I really blame them. I've racked my brain too trying to find something I could make YouTube videos about lol.lurking10 wrote:tigerlily wrote:Poor Ro wrangling the 4 other kids while Chloe sat around at the home-school meet up. There's a channel called PlanetMommyhood, 2 moms who both homeschool, again babies thru to older kids, but they don't really upload anymore
I think Ruby (Ellie's sister) was homeschooling one of her kids too, not sure on that one though

Same for me. I can't help but think about the Dionne quintuplets, what happened to them and what were their thoughts about it when they became adults.lurking10 wrote:tigerlily wrote:Poor Ro wrangling the 4 other kids while Chloe sat around at the home-school meet up. I see so many similitaries it's kind of scary actually:
"While living at the compound, they had a somewhat rigid lifestyle. They were not required to participate in chores and were privately tutored in the same building where they lived. Cared for primarily by nurses, they had limited exposure to the world outside the boundaries of the compound except for the daily rounds of tourists, who, from the sisters' point of view, were generally heard but not seen.[12] They also had occasional contact with their parents and siblings across the road. Every morning they dressed together in a big bathroom, had doses of orange juice and cod-liver oil, and then went to have their hair curled. They then said a prayer, a gong was sounded, and they ate breakfast in the dining room. After thirty minutes, they had to clear the table. They then went and played in the sunroom for thirty minutes, took a fifteen-minute break, and at nine o'clock had their morning inspection with Dr. Dafoe. Every month they had a different timetable of activities. They bathed every day before dinner and put on their pajamas. Dinner was served at precisely six o'clock. They then went into the quiet playroom to say their evening prayers. Each girl had a colour and a symbol to mark whatever belonged to her. Annette's colour was red and her design a maple leaf, Cecile's green and a turkey. Emilie had white and a tulip, Marie blue and a teddy bear, and Yvonne pink and a bluebird.[13]
Approximately 6,000 people per day visited the observation gallery that surrounded the outdoor playground to view the Dionne sisters. Ample parking was provided and almost 3,000,000 people walked through the gallery between 1936 and 1943. Oliva Dionne ran a souvenir shop and a concession store opposite the nursery and the area acquired the name "Quintland". The souvenirs, picturing the five sisters, included autographs and framed photographs, spoons, cups, plates, plaques, candy bars, books, postcards and dolls. Oliva also sold stones from the Dionne farm that were supposed to have a magical power of fertility. Midwives Madame LeGros and Madame LeBelle also opened their own souvenir and dining stand.[14] In 1934, the quintuplets brought in about $1 million and attracted about $51 million in total tourist revenue to Ontario. Quintland became Ontario's biggest tourist attraction of the era, surpassing the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.[citation needed] It was only rivaled by Radio City Music Hall, Mount Vernon, and Gettysburg in the United States. Hollywood stars who came to Callander to visit the Quints included Clark Gable, James Stewart, Bette Davis, James Cagney, and Mae West. Amelia Earhart also visited Callander just six weeks before her ill-fated flight in 1937"
"While the parents claimed that they wished to integrate the quintuplets into the family, the sisters frequently travelled to perform at various functions, still dressed identically. According to the accounts of the surviving sisters, the parents often treated them at home as a five-part unit, and frequently lectured them about the trouble they had caused the family by existing. They were sometimes denied privileges the other children received, and were more strictly disciplined and punished. They also received a heavier share of the housework and farmwork. They were unaware for many years that the lavish house, the expensive food and the series of cars the family enjoyed were paid for with money they themselves had earned."
"In 1997, the three surviving sisters wrote an open letter to the parents of the McCaughey septuplets, warning against allowing too much publicity for the children. The letter read:[21][22]
Dear Bobbi and Kenny,
If we emerge momentarily from the privacy we have sought all our adult lives, it is only to send a message to the McCaughey family. We three would like you to know we feel a natural affinity and tenderness for your children. We hope your children receive more respect than we did. Their fate should be no different from that of other children. Multiple births should not be confused with entertainment, nor should they be an opportunity to sell products.
Our lives have been ruined by the exploitation we suffered at the hands of the government of Ontario, our place of birth. We were displayed as a curiosity three times a day for millions of tourists. To this day we receive letters from all over the world. To all those who have expressed their support in light of the abuse we have endured, we say thank you. And to those who would seek to exploit the growing fame of these children, we say beware.
We sincerely hope a lesson will be learned from examining how our lives were forever altered by our childhood experience. If this letter changes the course of events for these newborns, then perhaps our lives will have served a higher purpose.
Sincerely, Annette, Cécile and Yvonne Dionne
In 1998, the sisters reached a $2.8 million settlement with the Ontario government as compensation for their exploitation"
Some people just never learn from others' past mistakes.

Wow I'm disgusted that happened in Ontario! Then again Canada is not as progressive as everyone thinks (I live here). That does sound eerily like the Beans tho.
