Bonnie Hoellein: A Butt-Squeezing Good Time | Part 12
Re: Bonnie Hoellein: A Butt-Squeezing Good Time | Part 12
I hope they don't move, their house is fine. YouTubers always seem to go to shit after they move into a McMansion.

I would love for them to move, their house is tiny. All the kids have small bedrooms, their dining area is a tiny table that will barely fit them as teenagers, etc. I think they could use a lot more space, now and especially in the future. Would be great for Joel to have a little shed or work space too.
Would be even cooler if they bought a fixer upper and renovated it.

They should've extended when they renovated the kitchen. They have a huge backyard which is kind of wasted space, so they could've renovated out or up. The kitchen could've been made bigger, and added another bedroom.
Bigger house will mean another kid.

They said in a vlog a couple weeks ago that they are waiting to redo the fence next year. If they were planning on selling they likely would have redone the fence instead of built the pergola.
I don't think they'll sell. If they choose to move, they will keep this house and make it a rental. But I don't think they are moving just because they don't want to get carried away spending money on more projects just because they can.

I wouldn't blame them for moving, I think they'll need more space as the kids grow

Redoing a fence like theirs is tricky because they seem to share it with neighbors.HelloSweetie wrote:They said in a vlog a couple weeks ago that they are waiting to redo the fence next year. If they were planning on selling they likely would have redone the fence instead of built the pergola.

Also, there's the old real estate adage - "don't make your house the nicest on the block." They seem to live in a fairly older/outdated neighborhood, so upgrading their house won't bring ROI the more they add to it. I think you are probably right that they might be renting it out and moving.

Though I think they *could* stay in that house for the rest of their lives, it's definitely a bit small for a family of 6. It'll only get more cramped as the kids age. A bigger house would be nice but I think they could make their current house work if they want to.

She sounded like such a bitch in this vlog. It was the first time I thought she sounded like a bitch.ewokfan11 wrote:Bonnie said she and Joel agreed to do nothing more to the house when he showed her new outdoor lights...that's usually a sign when people are planning to sell. Hmmmmm. I do wonder if they are looking to upgrade to a bigger house. They could obviously use a lot more room.
This poor man is trying to make ur tinyass house look even prettier and you say if he's not done in 3hrs you'll throw everything in the garbage? Idiot. Why does she always make it sound like Joel HAS to ask her before doing anything with his time?
JFC this woman always says that she appreciates her man when he's not around, but what comes out of her mouth when he is is a completely different story. And that wasn't joking around! She legit bugged him about the damn lights the entire vlog. Ugh what is he? Your handy man?

Personally I still think their house is pretty normal sized, but I can see how others would disagree. But I think having a 'smaller' house is probably something that makes her more relatable to average families.

Shouldn't an 8 year old know what a thermometer is?

All the real estate sites say the house is only 1000 square feet. That's really, really small for a family their size. They did a nice job of updating it, but I think they've outgrown the place.CallieT wrote:Personally I still think their house is pretty normal sized, but I can see how others would disagree. Thinking about my 10 year old, I honestly don't know if he'd know. He isn't sick that often, and never gets fevers so we never have cause to use one. I don't know if an 8 year old would necessarily know.Caisflame wrote:Shouldn't an 8 year old know what a thermometer is?

Funny story, when I was three years old I ran up to my dad sobbing and telling him I needed Hooked On Phonics because I couldn't spell thermometer. I don't know how I knew what a thermometer OR Hooked-On Phonics was. :pHelloSweetie wrote:Thinking about my 10 year old, I honestly don't know if he'd know. Anyway, my ex boyfriend and his family have the same exact family set up as Bonnie. An oldest daughter followed by three sons. They lived in a fairly small house for most of their lives, even smaller than Bonnie's, and they're ALL still living there. The oldest is around 30 now I think, followed by 28, 24, and 17. Their mother is driving herself up the wall and she just wants to get rid of her kids and live in a tiny apartment by herself. They only have one bathroom too! I often compare Bonnie's family to their family. A family of six in a small house is stressful and loud, and I was only a visitor! I don't know if B&J will move or not, but if they do, I hope they don't go crazy like other Youtubers have.

I've always felt they would move/build eventually. I just don't see Bonnie staying in that tiny house while Ellie has the Ice Palace and Ruby (I think) is looking for a bigger house. No way she'll be left behind in that house. I do think they need more room though. I think Bonnie's house (and it will be HER house) will be Ice Palace II.CallieT wrote:I hope they don't move, their house is fine. They are 100% preparing to move. Bonnie's comment about not wanting to put any more money into the house solidifies that for me.
I dont blame them, theyve increased the value of that home and likely will walk away with a large profit.
Also, I think building their own ice palace, with cash, is one of their financial goals before purchasing a truck.

So I guess all schools don't teach temperature? I remember learning about thermometers during science class when we studied temperature in 2nd grade, and my nephew learned about it in 1st. Not just a thermometer for illness. I still think it's strange that a child 6 or older wouldn't know what a thermometer is, especially an 8 year old. They pop up in everyday life pretty often whether it's weather, food, water, etc.HelloSweetie wrote:Thinking about my 10 year old, I honestly don't know if he'd know. Yeah I feel like my 7 year old has known for awhile now. But every child's vocabulary is different, overall I do think Olivia is pretty bright.Caisflame wrote:So I guess all schools don't teach temperature? Im not surprised Olivia didnt know. She seems like a sweet girl, but not that bright. Which is likely her parents fault, she even missed a month of school this past year. I dont think Bonnie values education, especially for girls.

they have 4 kids... imagine 4 teenagers in that house. three of them crammed into one room.CallieT wrote:Personally I still think their house is pretty normal sized, but I can see how others would disagree. I agree. The house is OK for now, but I would imagine that the plan was always to fix it up and move onto something else. Although now with youtube Im sure their something else is going to be bigger and newer then what they originally thought.
