My son fell over when he was 21 months old and knocked his front tooth out (fighting with his older cousin over a toy stroller.. she won!) and I took him to the dentist at the children's hospital and I remember saying to him that i wish he had of broken his arm or something instead of knocking his tooth out and the dentist told me that it's actually the reverse because a lot of the time babies bones don't heal properly and can cause a lot of trouble later in life. That always stuck out to me and know I'm super paranoid about my kids breaking bones even though they're 4 and 6 now.Tiger27 wrote:ujvs_ wrote:I get that everyone develops and starts puberty at different times but what 8 year old needs bras? Maybe a crop top sort of elasticated top or something similar but not a bra (not sure if she means training bras).
I saw a comment a few videos back (one where they were at the pool) that said something along the lines of "Julie needs a bra!" and Ruby replied something like "LOL yes!". Of all the comments to respond to (especially considering she doesn't respond to many), why this?! That was so odd. I don't think it's a bid deal if she wears a training bra or not, she probably wants to be like her sisters. BUT I don't think it is anyones business and find it so odd she's take time out to reply to that comment (some stranger staring at her 8 year old daughters chest and commenting on it is already weird in my opinion). I am sure that Ruby put bras on the list and purposely showed it because she knew it would get a rise out of the minions. They seem to LOVE puberty related vlogs.
Also I couldn't believe Russell had a freaking femur fracture and went DAYS without seeing a doctor!!! Like what?! That is the longest, strongest bone in your body! I know he was a baby but still...it takes a tremendous amount of force to do that. The nurse in me had to research the incidence of that because I'm still shocked.
"We cannot determine how often fractures were due to abuse or neglect, but child abuse is thought to be common in children younger than 1 year old with femur fractures.7,8 Other possible causes include heritable disorders of connective tissue such as osteogenesis imperfecta13 and motor vehicle accidents. Short falls, as occur when a child rolls off a bed or table, are unlikely to cause a femur fracture in an infant"

I know freak accidents happen but something is not adding up. I cannot imagine doctors would choose to just let things heal as they were either....obviously I don't know the case specifics but that is just bizarre to me.
"Boston Children’s Hospital states that it’s important for parents and/or loved ones to be proactive about infant fractures, as young bones don’t heal as adult bones would, and without the proper treatment, the fracture can lead to permanent issues."
I personally would be seeking an immediate second opinion if a doctor told me my baby had a femur fracture and they weren't going to do anything about it because it was healing fine after a few days. That's horrifying to me actually. I hope they at least got him some pain medicine.
It's like when Ellie didn't take Calvin to the ER when he stopped breathing....where is the common sense with these people? This may well be the most shocking thing I've heard from Ruby, I can't believe she admitted that to the camera either. I really don't think she personally abused Russell or that she would lie about him having a femur fracture but I definitely think there is more to that story.
I definitely think there's more to the story too. Accidents happen with little kids and they happen in a split second before you can even react but what gets me is that she waited DAYS to take him to see a doctor. He must have been in so much pain and she did nothing for days?! I dont understand.
