Losing weight with PCOS

Post by CypKitty »

So my endo is treating my case as PCOS even though bloods came back normal. Crazy acne, heavy periods, lots of weight gain the last year (with all bloods been normal) and it will not budge!

I am on Metformin and Aldactone.

What diets are the best for PCOS to promote weight loss?

I don't have PCOS personally, but my sister does. She did a low amylose diet for about a year and she lost around 100 pounds and was even able to get pregnant afterwards. Good luck! <3

It is important to lose weight right way with PCOS. To lose weight you can increase the protein content in your diet. To control carb craving you can also take inositol which is a naturally occurring substance that used to be considered as one of the B vitamins. By making all these changes to your diet, you must prepare your body for exercise daily for 1 hour. This will help to lose weight with PCOS.

It seems to me that it all depends on how much weight you want to lose. If this is about 20 pounds, then only sports will not help you, you need to completely change your diet. Let's be honest, if a person counts calories and eats correctly, he will not gain weight, if he has no problems with the thyroid gland or with hormones that can slow down metabolism, so first you need to see a doctor. The next step is a food diary, which you will honestly keep, because its very important to understand which foods you are abusing and which foods you need to reduce. You also need to find the sport that you like and you will enjoy it with pleasure. I know that all people want a speedy result, but if you want to do yoga only, you are unlikely to achieve the desired result in the near future, so try to alternate cardio loads and strength exercises. I don't like to run, but this is the necessary cardio that I need, so three times a week I do a 30 minute run. I also do exercises at home, I started with a video by Jillian Michaels, but then I picked up my training program. If you want to study at home, I advise you to read more information about this on the Internet so that you don't harm your health. For example, I didn't know how running can dehydrate the body and how the body loses the necessary salts through sweat, then I found this article https://waterbladderbag.com/what-drink- ... ectrolytes on the Internet and decided to add special drinks to my diet. It helps me lose weight, but not harm my health.

Okay, so I have PCOS and a lot of other women too I've seen in groups and we've all lost weight.

Something I've recently found super important over the last few months is to pay close attention to your body. It's important to understand certain patterns you see throughout your cycle etc. Then try to figure out your hormones overall, whether you get checked by a Dr. Or you do research. The next best thing I can recommend I'd probiotics! Just look up the benefits!

For food, honestly just overall eat healthy. Don't feel like you need to completely restrict. From what I've read women with PCOS have some issues we the digesting gluten, sugars, and lactose (which is sugar) I do have these issues and have noticed an improvement even though I haven't completely cut them out.

Next, do more weight training than cardio. For the first couple years I didn't do too much excersize other than moderate cardio. Though I lost weight, my body didn't look how I wanted it to. After starting to do weigh training (with my own body weight) I quickly noticed an improvement, and that's without even doing it everyday.
I believe I read a couple articles awhile back on why weight training for women with PCOS is better for weightloss, so look into that.

Oh, and of course higher protein diet.
