ok i'm sorry but i KNOW i can't be the only person feeling like this, when i first found 2011teenagemom's youtube i liked her a lot..she's so strong with everything she went through with her daughter but as she kept on making video's i started to REALLY dislike her. why is she SO obsessed with changing lily?! why can't she just be okay with the way her daughter was born and give Lily the choice when she's big enough to understand..what if Lily is happy with the way she is?! Nothing about her say's she's going to die..she's just different! Just because Vanessa was bullied doesn't mean lily will be too. she should love her daughter JUST THE WAY SHE IS and stop trying to change her!

youre right! its so wrong! vanessa stated that she was bullied in school and she doesnt want lily to be bullied. she shows a complete lack of faith in her daughter just because shes different! its so wrong and sad that shes that obsessed with being normal! let lily choose if she wants to have surgery when she gets older!

I can understand her wanting Lily to look "normal" but honestly, I think she's an adorable baby and I don't see anything wrong with her. Lily has already been through a lot in her life and she's not even one yet, I couldn't imagine putting my child through a cosmetic surgery and causing her more pain that isn't needed.

I can't say the same. My daughter was born with a slight deformity. It was genetic, something myself and my mother both had. I chose to have elective cosmetic surgery on her at 1 year old. The same one day surgery my mother and I had. I was always grateful my mother did it for me and do not regret my decision. Although I don't know the extensiveness of the surgery, it is Vanessas decision to do what she thinks is best for he daughter.

no one is saying it isnt her decision, we are just saying what we feel and think. and i feel that it should be lilys choice, no baby should have to go through that kind of surgery at such a young age

The neck surgery wont make her normal and wont make kids not bully. Lily will still have Tuners. Kids will still bully no matter what even if you are born 'perfect' they will find something. Vanessa should work on Lily having a winning personality and a thick skin and she will be able to overcome anything.

this is your opinion and i respect that, but i think that we shouldn't talk about this topic so easily...it's a touchy subject and everyone has different opinions for different reasons, that's why vanessa is free to make her choice on this.... personally, being an ex-kid with a little genetic deformation, i will be ALWAYS thankful to my parents for the surgery that I had when I was 5 yo! I would hate to explain to everybody all the time my deformation, hope that the people get used to it and prey that they won't use it against me to offend me and make fun of me.... do you know how mean the kids are?? I completely get why she is doing it!

She said later that she was getting it done when she was older. When she was talking about schools she said homeschool until Lily gets the surgery and then military school. Since Lily will be school age I am sure she will have a voice in the decision.

I had alopecia as a kid and endured horrible bullying...here is my stance on the issue: let lily decide when she is older. It is her body so it should be her choice. And instead of teaching her to try to conform and be perfect...teach her to handle the bullies and to have pride in who she was and how she was born. Like someone else said...even perfect looking people get bullied. No matter what you do, someone will find something to bully you about. Learning confidence and acceptance takes you farther in life.

I do think Lily should get the choice. I know how awful bullies can be and I would be scared of the same, but if she wants to teach Lily to love herself, then she should let her decide if she wants all of that. What if Lily doesn't give a crap about it when she gets older and ignores it all. I know someone with a genetic disorder and they could change an obvious sign but the chose not to because it makes them, them. They get bullied at times, but it's gone away since she's older and people are used to it.

As of four weeks ago when we talked to the surgeon she said that the procedure will be done at any age after 6. Its a cosmetic surgery that is very EASY and is just the removal of skin. Nothing to do with the neck or spine. What I did not know before and found out from girls who have the webbed neck and the Turners Syndrome Specialist is that It can affect her range of motion and all in all cause neck pain. The skin can get really tight at times. and is a bothersome. There Is more to it but it gets into detail. Its a fast surgery and a out patient recovery. Meaning she doesn't have to be hospitalized afterwords.

I would never put lily in danger. I know what I am talking about medically before I make decisions. Im sorry If you were miss informed but Im glad to answer the confusion.

as said before, i totally get why you are doing it and i think that lily will be glad you made this decision!
what I don't get is why in your video about the questions on this site you haven't even mentioned that there is also people that defended you and lily when rude and mean comments were made by SOME of the users on here... in this case i kinda agree with the comment that was made to you about the mentioning this site for getting the sympathy from your viewers...
over here there are some rude comments that could be hurtful, but there are negative comments on your videos and facebook (until you deleted them) as well... so we are not evils! we are normal people that share comments and opinions and don't get deleted (that's actually the only difference...)
with that being said, you are not one of my favorites yt moms to watch, but I think that you are a great mom and that you are a strong young woman... sometimes a bit immature, but as you said in your video you are just 20 yo, and you have the time to grow up... I wish you and your little girl the best!

Thank You. I do my best. I do mention several times in all of my videos that I appreciate all of my supportive viewers with all my heart! Thats why I do giveaways and find the time to keep makeing videos. And like i said in my video, I was irrational at times when i would delete comments that were not of my opinion after answering them 3 or 4 times. I would get upset and frustrated. I said I was trying to stop that. Im not saying you all are evil. I just don't understand why this site dwells on all the bad. Any who I cant change that or the world so I wont continue that. My point is on this topic. Sure im 20. Call me young call me immature at times. Though every single decision I make on Lily's behalf MEDICALLY Is decided between me and professional doctors. Lily has the best pieds doctor in charlotte. They and I make her decisions. Plus before I say yes to what ever the doctor says I do my own research and give it a couple days to decide my decision. I may be 20... But I know what Im doing with Lily.
