I’m a pedi nurse and it’s not true that all hemangiomas go away on their own. I see a good number of kiddos that it can impact their vascular system and cause other systemic problems down the road. I haven’t watched her vlogs on Snows, but it can cause problems besides cosmetic.

what do they do to get rid of them besides laser? Because Channon said her insurance doesn’t cover the removal I assume because they view it as cosmetic

Laser is actually one of the last steps. You treat hemangiomas aggressively if they are effecting the eye, mouth, breathing ect.(which hers was not) and even then they start with oral medications first. Here is the AAP guidelines. http://www.aappublications.org/news/201 ... omas122418

My youngest girl had a hemangioma... started off (at birth) as a tiny red dot on her temple. We had an amazing Indian pediatrician who let us know it would continue to grow, but at 2 years old it would suddenly begin to shrink and finally disappear. It got to be about the size of a dime, then sure enough around the time of her second birthday it began to get smaller and smaller and was completely faded by her 3rd birthday.

Unless the hemangioma is on an eyelid (blocking vision), on a nostril (interfering with breathing), or causing some type of issue aside from "not looking pretty" they should be left alone in my opinion. Honestly I'd be scared to death to put my baby through such laser treatment on her scalp so close to her brain. They keep big head wraps and bows on the baby anyway... it's easily covered if they don't like the looks.

did your daughters “stick out” for lack of a better word like Snows is? I’ve never seen these before so I’m not sure what’s normal. Snows was fine as just a spot on her head but now it’s like a bump or swollen or something, I don’t know how they can continue with these painful treatments that don’t look like are making a difference

My daughter had one on her head that got huge!! Like the size of a golf ball. We went to several doctors who said it would be fine. Sure enough it started getting smaller and smaller. Now she only has the birthmark on her head. She had one on her lip also but that never got very big.

Snow is a cute baby and all, but damn her name annoys the fuck out of me. Something about it just grates my nerves.

Hi! Long time lurker here, but haven’t posted in years. Want to chime in on the whole hemangioma thing because it’s driving me crazy!
The way I understood Channon from her explanation of things, it was her mom who recommended they see a dermatologist and then the doctors there recommended the laser treatments. It sounds like they never spoke to Snow’s pediatrician about it first. They trusted the opinion of the specialists and didn’t seek a second opinion. Okay... but do they understand that OF COURSE a dermatologist is going to “recommend” the most intense form of treatment? I’m not saying they aren’t to be trusted at all or that they don’t want the best for their patients, but they were never going to turn Snow away. Specialists are going to do what specialists do.
For an example: When I was 10 my parents took me to an orthodontist because I needed braces. I had a bit of an overbite, and they told my parents that before they would do braces, they would have to pull several teeth to reduce crowding, break my jaw, wire it shut and fit me with a huge appliance that would move my jaw forward. They warned my parents that if my overbite wasn’t corrected I’d have a whole host of problems later in life. When my parents consulted my regular dentist about this he was like “oh no no! None of that is necessary at all!” Needless to say my parents refused those procedures, and guess what? I’m 29 now and have not suffered at all from the very minor overbite I have. It’s just cosmetic, it’s not medically dangerous in the slightest. But specialists are, in a lot of cases, trained to treat things as aggressively as possibly. That’s their job. So as parents, it’s our job to be our children’s advocate and make sure it’s 1000% the right thing to do, even if we have to get a second or third opinion. Not speaking to Snow’s regular doctor first was mistake #1 in my opinion.

Also, in Channon’s most recent update on the hemangioma, she said it was brought to her attention that the “national pediatric association” now strongly advices laser treatment before anything else. I don’t believe that’s even a real organization, first of all. I’m not even American (I’m Canadian) and even I know that it’s the American Academy of Pediatrics. She obviously doesn’t know what she’s talking about and didn’t do her own research. I think it’s rresponsible, when you have a big following like she does, to put out information like that without checking your facts and sources.

Yes. And she is spreading false info to try to make it seem like they are doing things in the right order. Here is the newest guideline just posted. Snow's should have never been treated right from the get go and laser is the last thing to use even for the ones that are recommended to be treated aggressively.

IF Channon & Travis DID consult with Snow's pediatrician 1st i'm sure they would have recommended they wait until after 5 months when they usually STOP growing & then the 1st line of treatment (as suggested by the AMERICAN Academy of Pediatrics) is a topical medicine &/or steroids-with Travis being SO vehemently AGAINST traditional medicine probably said ABSOLUTELY NOT & I CAN'T imagine Channon agreeing to WAIT on removing/reducing anything that is as highly visible as that is!

I love how Travis is against medicine and medical things in general but has no problem with his 2 month old getting laser treatments for cosmetic purposes.. I get that nobody wants to see their child with a bump on them that isn’t the most beautiful thing to look at, but I would never want to see my child in pain for basically no reason!

My son was born with a small keloid on his Tragus (the little flap of skin above the ear lobe) and when he’s older I could have it tied (a quick procedure and a one time thing) and I would never do it! I will never put my baby through pain for no reason.

I love that she’s come out telling people “if you don’t like me, unsubscribe” - um, aren’t you a full time YouTuber? Hate views pay your bills just as much as someone kissing your ass. Also, if you don’t want advice in the comments, maybe don’t ask your viewers opinions? “Let me know what you guys think (but only if you agree with me 100%)” Moron

WHAAAAATT!!!!!!!! How the hells did I miss that little diddy? She didn't have sex the entire pregnancy? Did she say that somewhere? <---want to go back and laugh hysterically at her reasoning for this....

Also...but some clothes on that fucking kid. Even in hot weather being naked feels chilly and drafty and not comfortable.

Also also...channons chits are chuge!!!!!!! OMG :-o :-o :-o :-o :-o :-o
In her collab with Aaryn and Tara she said Travis refused to have sex with her while she's pregnant lmao.

That must have been bad. Cause from what I hear, apparently pregnant vagina is the best. The reasoning apparently is cause it’s creamier and stuff idk. So Channon has to be hella ugly to Travis

Had a laugh at the comments. Someone wrote “and we’ll be vlogging every day even after Christmas so make sure to subscribe”

Someone pointed out she’s selling her PR packages on posh mark too and how it’s illegal or that the senders really won’t like it....
