i'm a far cry from a fan of e and j but are you saying that they should do this? i don't think anyone should have to do anything for other people just bc they are 'famous' on youtube. i thought the idea was good too but to say e and j should do this so more people than 4 a year can get ivf seems off to me bc IMO it's not up to anyone to provide that sort of service to anyone......maybe i'm wrong?eab424 wrote: Also I love the idea Robert had for IVF. It was sort of like a netflix thing. People pay so much a month and so many people each month are granted IVF. I like that they think of others which is something a lot of other ytubers don't. I think if Ellie and Jared started something like that a lot of others could get IVF vs. 4 people each year.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
Holy cow 40k???? I haven’t looked at their go fund me. That’s terribly shameful. I’m sorry your baby is in the NICU, BUT 40K? Do they want a down payment for a new home? Are people supposed to pay for the addition to their current home? I don’t see how 40k is justified. I hope they have medical insurance because if not that’s going to be one hell of a NICU bill! But who does IVF or transfers without medical coverage for an upcoming pregnancy. Is Kalyn on the state free medical? I don’t get it.theg0ssiping1 wrote:the go fund me things are becoming a habit and way of life for these two and it's completely distasteful IMO. regardless if a friend or family member set it up for them it's tacky to have one once a month for every journey that comes their way bc it just makes it look like they're not prepared or ready. i know this makes me sound like a bad person but it's a risk i am willing to take because it's the truth......i am glad to hear their daughter is coming along well but if i had to snark on something it would be this constant need for other people to give them money for life happenings and to make things worse their goal is $40,000 and the title of the go fund me is to help with their expenses going back and forth to the nicu...........do they not have insurance because 40k is a lot of money for gas and lodging and food
Re: Kalyn and Robert
I also want to add that if she is on free medical for her state wouldn’t the NICU be free? I don’t know about state free medical, but I belive I’m right. Also, how far away are they from the hospital? I think they want to raise as much as possible so Kalyn and/or Robert don’t have to go to work. I can’t stand when people ask for so many handouts and want subscribers and charitable donations. IMO It’s wrong to always have your hand out.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
i was reading the comment section of their latest 'birth vlog' and people were saying they needed to try and apply for medicaid and they kept telling folks they couldn't bc they were told not to then left the link to their go fund me page instead......then people commented saying that's what they were told as well but they still applied and got it so it seems to me and probably others that they just don't want to do that and instead accept donations from others.
i caught their live stream on youtube the other night and they turned on something called super chat (?) and people were donating money left and right on there as well just strikes me as odd.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
and i put 'birth vlog' in quotations bc this guy loves to make things dramatic and keeps people on edge for the next video it's sort of lame to do that what with people donating their hard earned money to help......again just really strikes me as odd how they're asking for money as often as they are with things that otherwise would've been somewhat prepared for with couples.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
I can’t imagine getting pregnant intentionally without medical insurance. I’m sure they’d qualify for free medical because it doesn’t seem like they work that much. Robert was always talking about how broke they are. They probably already have the free medical or else that Go fund me would have been for the babies NICU bill. I’m sure that’s what the title would have said.

I just wanted to add that he told someone on Instagram that they were told her Nicu stay was going to be 150,000 in total. As it is 10,000 per every 5 days.

Gossip- The reason I was suggesting E & J do that is there are a ton of families who live in states or work for companies that do not cover IVF as part of their insurance plan. In fact more people's insurance does not cover IVF vs covering it. And IVF costs around 16,000 per attempt. Once they exhaust all the embryos they may have without a pregnancy they have to do it again. People say "just adopt" well that's difficult too. I've gone through a failed adoption. My husband and I live in a nice house have nice cars and (that's not what makes a good parent but its what they look for) we were picked by a woman to adopt her twin babies. She lived in a different state and I'd been going with her to appointments and helping her during the last month of pregnancy. Time I could've spent with my husband and stepsons as it was December. I put everything on hold and flew to her state to help her, she didn't have family and being pregnant with twins is not easy.
When she went into labor we were in the waiting room with another family whom I thought was her family. Her sister was in town and she was in the OR when the twins were born. Then they came out and took the other family into the hospital room where the babies were. The adoption coordinator came out and said that the birth mom changed her mind and choose another couple. This couple was in their late 50s and had 4 grown sons all of whom had pregnant wives. So it was one of those midlife crisis adoptions. I can't even begin to tell you how heartbroken I was. And it's just not a road I can go down again. And most of the costs we incurred she was of no obligation to repay. So I can understand why a lot of couples can't go down the adoption route.
There are IVF grants that can be applied for, my ex sister in law did IVF that way. It can be quite costly. And most families have already been down an expensive road. These Youtube families are not the norm. Both Phil and Alex and Kalyn and Robert have only been married since 2011. Most couples I know of have been ttc for a lot longer and been through some pretty tough experiences that those couples haven't. So yes a lot of these couples are hurting and have already spent thousands of dollars to have a family so that's why I think we should help them.
However I think these couples should have stable income and insurance to care for children.
You can have insurance and still have some hefty bills depending on the amount. But 40K? No way.
I don't think they'll be able to use that cheap junky car seat they registered for as only a few are suitable for premature infants to go home in. Chicco is one that is graded for infants 4lbs+.
I think they do have insurance somehow. IDK I do think their constant asking for handouts is over the top. I don't think though in the premature situation it's one you can be prepared for. It's costly even with insurance. If they didn't have insurance I'd expect them to be asking for a lot more than 40K. I think the person who started it wasn't thinking about what it should be and just put in that number. It's crazy if it's just for expenses. They live in the same county for goodness sake. Most families don't when their kids are in the nicu. 40k thats what people usually make in a year.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
i've never had a nicu stay with any of my children so i wouldn't know the cost but 40k for traveling back and forth seems a bit far fetched to me....maybe that's just the price point the 'friend' made it

I agree with you. I can't watch a lot of the time because I never know when Robert is going to get ahold of the camera and say he wanted to say this while Kalyn wasn't there.... Then whines about money or why their asking for fill in the blank handouts. It's like seriously man up. It would be one thing if he'd only done that once but it's happened more than once. It's just weird.
I've seen at least 3 youtubers do youtube baby showers and that's only including one's I've followed. I don't agree with it though its weird. Joan and John were the worst though about it.
I have a suspicion that house is not theirs. (I don't know if I've mentioned this or not) there's no house that looks like theirs registered in that county under their name. I have a feeling family bought it. They paint it and talk of expanding it as if it were theirs.
One thing I think Robert needs to do is reevaluate how he's providing for his family. Being a photographer doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard. Yet he lives so close to prime wedding destinations. He could easily make it work. So if I were him I'd look into a job that can provide for his family. Wanting to be youtubers and all that to me is lazy. It's not a career, it's not stable employment.
I don't think he makes money talking to people about being foster parents that seems to me like it's a volunteer thing.
And I've noticed they like every post people make on their videos even if their statement isn't true. One commenter thought he was a pastor. They liked the comment. If you make a comment on their channel they like the comment no matter what it is, which makes me think they don't bother reading it. Because they've liked the comment saying he was a pastor. Why would you like a comment about yourself that's not true?

Re: Kalyn and Robert
eab - so true i have noticed they 'love' each of the comments that are made and never take the time to actually respond unless a larger youtuber has somehow made their way to their channel to say hello.
i had no idea about their house and maybe that is true but who knows....i feel like most youtubers just fabricate a lot of things and maybe for safety purposes but otherwise it seems silly to lie about something like that. then again we're talking about a grown ass man who sits in front of the camera and talks about money problems all while showing them going out to eat in the very next scene of their videos.......stuff like that has never made sense to me with them but i always felt bad for thinking that way bc there are moments where they suck you in with the smiles and the laughter but then i found this thread and finally let out a big sigh like thank god i am not the only one who has been thinking this way the entire time!!!
i feel like there are times where kalyn doesn't want the camera shoved in her face and it comes off as robert wanting this youtube fame to happen more so than his wife tbh. i remember when he was a 'realtor' and would complain about no money and yet there is such good money to be made in their area real estate wise but it's all about whether or not you actually want to put down the snack mix and get out of bed and go to work.......not body shaming him but he just seems lazy is all just from what they show on their channel......all complaining but no work to be put in to change that is the way i see it.......so many of these youtubers made it big with exploiting /yes exploiting/ their pregnancy issues and updates and i feel like maybe they're hoping that will happen to them as well.
i hope i don't come off wrong saying any of this because there's a part of me that wants to have that glimmer of hope in seeing them as genuine people but at the end of the day they are all the same in my eyes and nothing shocks me anymore.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
Property records are a matter of public record. If they owned that house it would be listed. His parents house is. But not theirs. Also that house is pretty big. I don't know how many bedrooms it has but I bet there's more than 2 bedrooms in it. Kalyn only works at a day care center and that pays next to nothing.
I think instead of putting so much effort into youtube he should put it into his photography business. Because now he has a dependent and youtube is not a career. And they don't have that many subs.
I've only seen 1 person not have their property listed. My husband used to be his chief financial officer for a company and the owner's house is not listed. I know big celebrities do this. I also know sometimes it is listed just under a different name like their manager is listed as owner. But you really have to be somebody and have a reason to have your house not be listed or have the info changed so it's not easily identifiable. They have only 12K subs. Their audience is tiny.
This goes back to before Magnolia was born and before they had big issues, but when they were at the high risk doctor they did a video with a clickbait title making it sound like there was a problem with Magnolia or the pregnancy. Nope they were complaining about doctor bills.

their clickbait titles remind me of daily bumps and they're going to unfortunately start getting heat for titles like that just as much as they'll get heat for the asking for money all the time

They did people spoke up about the baby shower their throwing for themselves. And I think Robert make a special video while Kalyn was out to talk about how everything was less than $25 and how they wanted to keep it positive. I also notice how Robert seems to run the show and Kalyn isn't seen as much.theg0ssiping1 wrote:their clickbait titles remind me of daily bumps and they're going to unfortunately start getting heat for titles like that just as much as they'll get heat for the asking for money all the time
This family our family has been friends with for years has a granddaughter who had boys born a year to the month apart. She threw herself a shower even though she wouldn't need anything really most items were already on hand besides the crib, stroller, car seat but enough that she'd need a shower. She literally said she was doing it so he could see how much he's loved. Um he's in utero and doesn't care what is bought for him. Just insane.

Re: Kalyn and Robert
regardless of their baby showers and constant need to ask for funds what i dislike the most about this couple is that they are exploiting their child for youtube views and they're exploiting the process of the child coming into the world for all the wrong reasons. i know that a lot of people do it and i would and have said the same about them as well.......they tried to come off as different than the rest at first but the second they saw a few of their videos climb the view count ladder they latched on to it and haven't let go since. example he posted a post on youtube the other day and asked if everyone was following them on IG because they had shared a special moment over there and i had to laugh at the majority of the comments that were saying no we don't follow you we will just wait for the vlog

Re: Kalyn and Robert
What I dislike is how Robert lays it on thick. Now working the angle of Magnolia being born as some sort of tragedy. She's doing well and yeah it stinks she needs to be in the NICU a while. But they are lucky she's doing well, and I doubt she'll be in the nicu until May 25.
Re: Kalyn and Robert
$150,000 to have a baby in the NICU? I almost passed out at that! How does anyone in the USA afford to have children? My last baby was in the nicu for a few days with wet lungs and I've had 3 c-sections, I can't imagine having to find hundreds of thousands of dollars for the privilege.
I can't watch their vlogs because that damn music they have is always so much louder than them talking. Volume fien, volume up, omg down down the music is back!

When my cousin had twins (they were identical so there were some ttt syndrome issues) their bill was a million each. They were born right at the point where they'd save them they were 1lb each and were born at 24 weeks. It was also tragic because their dad passed away in an accident while they were in the nicu. He got to hold them. They had to wait a month not days to hold them. And it was a while before their skin wasn't reddish pink.
Insurance. Usually medical insurance pays between 80-90% but what we don't know is what kind if any medical insurance they have. Unfortunately some insurance companies don't pay a lot or refuse to pay for something so you are stuck holding the bag. Mine was pretty evil and refused to pay for the helicopter ride that transferred me to a high risk hospital so they could hopefully save my son. Insurance refused to pay for it and we were stuck with a 30K bill that was in addition to the hospital bill 25K where I had to pay 7K of it and funeral expenses. For a helicopter transport. The news even had the company that services the hospitals on an investigative report because they were ripping people off while they were going through such a hard time and ruining them financially. We had to wait to do anything fertility wise because of those bills.
I agree the music is the worst part of the vlogs. It's just awful.
