Even if that is so, they still require PMI. The state I am from is one of few (it was the only one when we bought our home, not sure if that had changed), that had a program to get rid of PMI. PMI kind of defeats the purpose of buying a house. That makes any home they purchase far more expensive than it would be if she saved up a 20% down payment. She could have bought a decent house for her son but she had to buy a house now because you know, "the one thing I have is money" and she wanted to show it.

Oh yes. She is probably paying $100 or so extra for the PMI. You can get rid of it by having the back reappraise your house once you have 20% equity.

Personally I think people should have 20% down. It helps in case of falling house values.

She had so many people asking her about Nolan's needs when it came to this house she had to come up with something. She did not for one second think about Nolan's future when planning this house. This is the same person who upgraded her master bath to be what she wanted. She wanted a brand new house and she got it. There was no planning for the future with this house. I think she is denial or maybe pastor frenk told her his god will preform a miracle on nolan.

Why do people think it's even possible to do this? It's not. You can't just put your disabled kid in a home and walk away. There are no institutions like that, and if there are, they'd cost thousands of dollars a month like old age facilities do. There are no free care homes in the US.

It is ABSOLUTELY CHEAPER to make the 5th bedroom during construction, rather than after. They will never do it, I guarantee that. Like some have said earlier, she'll just move to a new house. They couldn't afford to add that room during construction when it should have been done. They can probably barely afford this house at all. She has no idea what they've gotten themselves into. There is so much expense with a new build. I expect their house will remain very bland for a long time. They simply can't afford anything. And saving for it? LMFAO. Since when has Britney ever saved a dime in her life?

The point she is making is that would mean a higher mortgage payment. If frank is handy he could probably do some of the work. Its not hard to hang drywall and mud ir and paint. They will need a expert for the mechanicals but he could do sone of the work himself. New construction already has inflated prices.

She did mention how even though it’s a new build they will have a lot to pay for out of pocket.

You know what I would like to know if they have combined their finances. She was never willing to do that with Ean. I do agree her saving for anything is laughable. Youtube probably won’t be around by then so nobody will probably know the outcome with poor Nolan.

Sorry, but there's no way Frank would have the time or skill to convert the garage himself, and it would cost MUCH MORE than what it would cost to do while they built the house. It's totally clear that it wasn't really a choice because they can't afford to do it. Not now and not in the future. The little you save trying to do something yourself is lost in the fact that you pay retail for all the materials plus labor if you need help, which they would need. The builder does not pay retail for materials, their costs are fixed. She just doesn't want to admit that they are already at their financial limit with the mortgage. Rolling the cost into the mortgage would have made very little difference to their monthly payments. I'm sure it was more a case of the bank not being willing to extend more credit to them.

Ean has experience building stuff. Maybe he can do it.

After the experts put in any mechanicals like plumbing and HVAC and the framing is done. It is not hard to hang drywall or mud it. We will be doing our basement. You don’t have to pay yourself if you hang the drywall. Builder is way more expensive. If they only stayed in this house for two years they would lose money. That’s why if there is stuff you can do after your moved in to save money it’s wise to do that.

Like I said she could be blowing smoke up everyones ass. She could be making all of this up to save face. But the reasoning was right.

Her PMI would be way more than $100 a month. It's typically 1% and her house is at least 300000k.

Yes it was modified. What I meant is we did a lot of work on this house ourselves while building to keep the mortgage down. We even bought all our light fixtures and other things at home improvement stores. We cashed flowed a lot during the process so we would have a lower mortgage. We will cash flow the basement also in the future to finish if because my dad can do a lot of the work.

Maybe not. Who knows. Like I said she could just be covering her butt after all the hate for this house. All I meant was her reasoning whether she was genuine or not was right.

Would I have built a house like that when I had a kid with MD. Probably not. Everyone is also right that she never would of bought a resale home. The thought of a used house would of repulsed her. Just like everything in her life this was a impulsive decision that wasn’t thought about much. Which a lot of first time homeowners do. So combine that with Britney having to have everything right now it’s probably a recipe for disaster.

Chloe, I realize your parents built your home recently, but you are actually quite misinformed about a lot of things. It's not easy to just put in HVAC. They absolutely will not be able to do this all themselves. We actually did do something like this ourselves. You haven't even thought of the finer details like you need to have MANY MANY specialist tools to do the work. That stuff isn't free. Even renting some equipment is very expensive. Did you not read my post. I said that after the mechanicals like hvac and plumbing are done by the professionals he could hang the drywall. Hanging drywall is not that hard. I never said they could do the hvac and plumbing themselves.
