E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
About Calvin walking, I think he would do well with a push walker. Maybe they'll buy one now lol! But I don't think he'll be walking before his birthday. I think it'll be around when Jackson started (14-ish months?).

You can seriously tell Ellie is the youngest. Everything is me me me. Even today, when they were talking about all the cousins birthdays being together, she was all like "well ill a turtle cake and blah blah blah". Like everyone needs to do what she wants. Maybe the other two don't want a darn turtle cake. Honestly, it'd probably be Calvin's day and not Boston or Kate's for the rest of their lives.

I apologize if this was posted before, I wasn't sure where to look to see if it has been discussed. Is that Jared at the end of the video?

Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
I just noticed that the Schmovies channel is hosting a Paranting Q&A with Ellie & Jared live. Anyone intending to watch? They can't delete questions and comments so everyone will be able to see what they are asked. I think it might be a good time to bring up appropriate content, thumbnails, titles, as it relates to parenting while vlogging? Too much of a stretch perhaps?

It's tomorrow. I think it would be great if a few of us asked their opinions on the recent findings of their bath and potty videos being exploited and embedded on third party porn websites.Whatshesaid_2015 wrote:I just noticed that the Schmovies channel is hosting a Paranting Q&A with Ellie & Jared live. I think it is a subject with which they are familiar. I can't imagine they would be giving parenting advice as they are struggling as parents imo. Jackson certainly isn't thriving, nor is Calvin from what I've observed. Jackson seems stalled to me.gymchick43 wrote:It's tomorrow. Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
I noticed the Truman Show is on Netflix now. I know E and J watch a lot of Netflix. I wonder if they've ever seen it. There's no way they could watch that and not see some parallels, right?!
Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
In what ways do the kids seem stalled? I don't disagree! They seem happy but they don't seem to be socialized with people who are not family. Jackson isn't involved in any classes or opportunities to interact with kids who are not his cousins. But who knows - maybe he is and they just don't show it in the vlogs.Whatshesaid_2015 wrote:I think it is a subject with which they are familiar. Prefacing this with yes, I do in fact know that Ellie and Jared are pretty mediocre/terrible parents in a whole lot of aspects and they use pedophile click bait and don't take their kids to the ER when necessary, etc. etc. etc. so don't jump on me for saying something remotely positive...But sorry that seems pretty dramatic to say Jackson seems stalled and isn't thriving. He's still at an age where there's a huge range of abilities between kids. His speech may not be amazing but he knows a ton of words, has an expanding vocabulary, is learning colors and the alphabet, and all sorts of other things and his motor skills are definitely on track. Just because he says "yeoh" or whatever, while annoying, isn't evidence that his speech is horrible and not progressing. I knew a kid who called her blanket her "mymygo" for two years. No one knows why and all the correction in the world didn't change her from doing it..lots of kids just have weird words that they eventually grow out of. Calvin definitely seemed quite behind for some time (probably because he's receiving proper nutrition and not being starved by Ellie's lack of breastmilk) but he is doing a ton more now and seems pretty average for his age. I think Ellie is pushing him to walk earlier than he's ready for but he is still mobile and a lot more vocal now. I think sometimes he seems way behind because you have Finn who's leaps and bounds ahead of some babies and he's already hitting these milestones. According to plenty of baby sites though, Calvin is hitting most if not all of the marks. Anyways, I think there's lots to criticize them on but to say the boys, especially Jackson, are not thriving and are stalled is definitely reaching in my opinion.Whatshesaid_2015 wrote:

Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
Stalled doesn't mean delayed. Stalled means that he was doing well, and then stopped advancing. Honestly I would say Jackson has regressed more than he has stalled. That doesn't necessarily mean he is all that far behind his peers, it's just an observation on his personal growth.

Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
Well, I think you made my argument for me, pretty much. I do think Jackson has stalled and has been stalled since Christmas/his second birthday. He isn't growing by leaps and bounds like many children do when they hit two years old. His language skills are not progressing. He doesn't come across to me as a particularly curious or interested child. I understand that new talkers often have special names for things. But Jackson fails the simple affirmative response of "yes". To me, that is telling as it is such a basic word. I don't know whether or not he is able to say the word "no". He wasn't allowed to use the word last time I checked. He plays with Cody who just turned five years old. He is not getting chummy with the rest of his little cousins. He isn't developing any social skills. It is all about Cody still. *Sigh* Frankly, I'm bored with the subject. Calvin may be slowly progressing, but not thriving. Jackson seems stalled to me. The kid is not being challenged or enriched.

Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
You are exactly right. I was being charitable when I described him as stalled. He is, in my opinion, stalled in some areas and has regressed in other areas, such as speech. Furthermore, the kid doesn't strike me as a happy kid. He seems to be disappointed and has grown more introverted. That is my opinion.ladymama wrote:Stalled doesn't mean delayed. Anyone remember when Jackson had way, way more verbal skills than Ollie? Now it's just sad. He has regressed.

No one ever suggested Jackson was delayed before Cal was born. Then things slowly seemed to stall in his development.
If you go back and watch Bonnie vlogs from 6 months ago, Boston is the same age Jackson is now. The difference is hard to deny.
Kids usually start talking and then take off with it. They may be slow to start, but not usually slow to progress if that makes sense?

Re: E+J: The Ellie Show: Part 13
The sad thing is with all of this, Ellie likely sees no error in her ways. She used to say she would do things differently with baby #2, and she did. I doubt very much she would make any adjustments when baby #3 comes along.
Poor kids. Jackson lost his mother who seemed so much more invested in him, to a tiny baby with health problems that could have been rectified but weren't because they were "cute".
Ellie does not give a damn about those kids and Jared is still too chicken shit to do anything about it.

YES!!! Remember how Ellie set Jackson aside and left his care mostly to Jared? And then it was all about breastfeeding Calvin....HelloSweetie wrote:I agree!nutbagmcgee wrote:Anyone remember when Jackson had way, way more verbal skills than Ollie? Now it's just sad. He has regressed.

Yes, Boston and Jackson are different kids so I think it isn't so much what the kid us able to do. It seems to me you're speaking if an energy, a confidence, a security, a willingness to learn and be curious. It is difficult for me to express, but I get it. It kind of seems like Jackson was at his peak with the motivational toddler video. His parents tried to make him someone he wasn't. He seemed so resigned after Christmas / 2nd birthday fails.
