I thought Joel looked especially handsome in his suit today. He's so modest, I don't think he has any idea how attractive he is to some of us.
Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Joel Had A Really Nice Time ;) Part 3
Agreed^^ he is so handsome but it is his personality that I enjoy the most. Bonnie is one lucky lady.

Did Bonnie have Lincoln's car seat stacked on the children's seat portion of the cart in her video today?? If so, I hope someone shared with her how that is dangerous.

Bonnie does not GAF about her kids safety. This is one thing I have to overlook about Bonnie.lurkymclurkerston wrote:Did Bonnie have Lincoln's car seat stacked on the children's seat portion of the cart in her video today?? If so, I hope someone shared with her how that is dangerous.

She's lucky she has a lot of good things going for her to be likable. Joel being the biggest thing.nutbagmcgee wrote:Bonnie does not GAF about her kids safety. I loved the clip of her demanding Cody to cuddle her and be rocked. Adorable.

I feel like a child's safety isn't something that should be overlooked because someone's likeable, but hey... Maybe that's just me lol

Just curious. Have you changed your opinion of E&J then?alym0326 wrote:I feel like a child's safety isn't something that should be overlooked because someone's likeable, but hey... Maybe that's just me lol

Bonnie isn't my neighbor or a friend, she is some lady I watch on You Tube. Am I supposed to stalk her every time she fucks up and berate her? Lordy. I like her personality, I like Joel and I think the kids are darling. They are a sweet family. There are other vloggers who are safety conscious and they have no personality and aren't like able.
Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Joel Had A Really Nice Time ;) Part 3
I wouldn't say my opinion has changed as I was never a huge fan of them, I just disagreed with some of the snark they were getting for things I didn't think were snark worthy - I've also sad before when discussing Bonnie's safety that I know Ellie and Jared aren't the safest either. I haven't been watching e+j's vlogs for th past few weeks, I've only seen maybe 3... So all the info I have about the breathing incident is from the thread - and based off what y'all have said I'm not happy at all with any of their handling of Calvin not breathing.HelloSweetie1 wrote:Just curious. All I was saying is that I don't think a child's safety should be overlooked... For any reason, I don't care if they're likeable (Bonnie) or unlikeable (E+J to many of you - just using them as an example). There are many other youtubers who are berated for their safety choices. Bonnie gets off easy in these threads for her lack of safety - which I don't agree with. That's all I'm saying!nutbagmcgee wrote:alym0326 wrote:I feel like a child's safety isn't something that should be overlooked because someone's likeable, but hey... Maybe that's just me lol

I don't think Bonnie gets off easy. I think she gets called on the legit safety concerns (like the buggy today, car seat safety, etc) but there are also many that are super nitpicky and just not realistic if you're a parent. Like leaving the room your baby is in, or going downstairs when your baby is asleep upstairs. That's where the disagreements usually come in.

I wondered the same thing when I saw them in the chair together!
At least she's honest

When I say she gets off easy, I mean there is a lot of people overlooking the safety issue because they like her, or hoping the issue is a one time thing. And that there aren't pages and pages of safety talk. Also: I don't see a big deal with her leaving the room the baby's in (unless he's on something he can fall off of) I don't really remember that being argued on haha, I must have missed it!HelloSweetie1 wrote:I don't think Bonnie gets off easy. ETA: like with the cart thing today, only 1-3 people talked about it on here, that's what I meant by 'gets off easy' haha.

Where I live there are carts that have an attachment for baby capsules to be strapped in to so I just assumed that's what it was but if not, eek. Bonnie is my absolute fav but yeah her lack of safety worries me but it seems to be just the way of life where they live, very lax

Literally everyone in my area does the cart thing (I don't because I know better), but I am not going to go up to all these moms and tell them they are unsafe. Maybe I should but I ain't about that sanctimommy life.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Joel Had A Really Nice Time ;) Part 3
At my target there are a couple carts that have a small built in newborn seat. Just for baby, not for an entire car seat. I was pumping while watching Bonnie yesterday morning, so I wasn't paying close enough attention. But I'm going to guess it wasn't one of those.HowBoutThatSchnizel wrote:Where I live there are carts that have an attachment for baby capsules to be strapped in to so I just assumed that's what it was but if not, eek. I'm sure someone in the comments let her know you're not to do that. I've actually seen a cart fall forward with a baby up on the cart like that before. Gaaaah terrifying! Plus Ellie did not have Calvin up there, which leads me to believe she knows you're not supposed to. But then again Ellie doesn't know to get her child seen immediately when he stops breathing or has a "seizure". Shrug.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Joel Had A Really Nice Time ;) Part 3
I think that the safety issue with bonnie probably IS overlooked a lot because she's so likeable, but I think it's just because a lot of people only follow the train wrecks because they're more fun to watch.
Eg - I very very rarely watch e+j or jesssfam anymore because I find them intolerable. However I do visit both of their boards here regularly because I just know they're both just an entertaining shit show. Bonnie I do actually watch because I like her and her family, and only visit the board occasionally to check in.
So Bonnie may get off easier, but it's possibly because those that are more likely to jump on someone's ass for something in a big way, aren't attracted to bonnie for any train wreck value. I don't think I've explained myself very well, but hopefully you get what I'm saying.

Re: Bonnie Hoellein: Joel Had A Really Nice Time ;) Part 3
Oh the seat on top of the cart thing bugs me so much when I see people doing it in Walmart. Though, when my oldest was a baby I did it because his seat had the "compatibility" for carts; I didn't know at the time that that was unsafe too! I hope she at least has one person telling her about it because it IS very dangerous! I have to fight the urge to stop anyone I see doing it because it freaks me out so much now! Lol. I can never do huge grocery trips anymore because of my baby taking up the whole shell of the cart though. Those carts with the baby seat strappy things are always way out of reach for me to use them. Lincoln should be able to sit up in the seat soon though!
Wow, that whole paragraph was all over the place.. And I don't wanna fix it.

And also, not to start a tedious disagreement but as someone with three children, I can say there are some things that people pick up on that I can say are things that tend to slide when you have a few kids. Not the big things like the cart or car seats (those are legitimate safety concerns) but little ones. Generally those comments come from people with one or no children. And I'm not saying they're wrong, It's just that with three kids you don't have the same luxury of being able to be on top of your kids all the time for every little thing.

I think that in the grand scheme of the two vlogs today (bonnie and Ellie's) everyone was so much more blown away by Ellie's actions (or lack of) and bonnie having the car seat on the cart just wasn't as shocking. I think any other time more people would of commented on it.
