Now this I agree with. He needs to be very closely monitored!! And I also agree that it would be heartless to get rid of him now, that would be extreme. I just pray it works out and they do remain vigilant.Playsinrain wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:16 pmBooger has never shown signs of aggression towards Gaines or Brooks and seems to love their attention. Plus he would had to have passed aggression testing before being adopted and if he showed signs of aggression towards children, he would not have been placed in a home with kids or with someone planning kids. While i agree that a dog "isn't worth" a child, i would never expect them to just dump Booger bc other pitbulls are aggressive, especially before they even introduce him to the new baby. I would actually be angry if they just dumped him at the shelter for no reason other than his breed. Pets aren't disposable, and unless they have reason to believe that he would be aggressive or he showed signs of aggression towards children would be super irresponsible of them to just send him back to the shelter. Yes they need to take precautions like every pet owner with new babies, but there is no excuse as of right now for them to get rid of the dog just bc she's having a baby.Gladys Kravitz I wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 1:59 pm *sighs. And one dog is not worth one child ever.

And I agree with you as well! Like I responded above, I just pray they remain vigilant and don't give him too much leeway and that all is well with the Leaf famlmmomSD wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:33 pm Not trying to jump on OP but pretty much any dog will bite if pushed far enough. So it's their job to see that they watch the dog closely. Most bites are not against people in the family-- more often strangers. At least from what I have seen.
Sophia will probably be fine. Pit bull or not, they just need to keep an eye on things. They'll figure it out if Booger is going to be an issue.

Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
I wasn’t attempting to attack. I just honestly try to educate people about those kinds of stereotypes whenever I hear them. Some people truly don’t know about pit bulls and their true nature and only assume based on media and scare tactics.
I agree with everyone saying they should be careful and attentive with introducing the baby, as with any dog. I predict booger will just be the type of dog that becomes the protector/big brother/jungle gym for the kids. He seems like a lazy sweetheart who just wants love.

Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
I have no doubt that dog will be amazing with the baby. Pit bulls love and protect their families, usually if they bite it’s a stranger or another dog that they are threatened by. So if they introduce her correctly and as a toddler teach her that booger isn’t a jungle gym they will be fine. My neighbors have a pit bull that looks almost identical to him and 3 kids, that dog is so freaking sweet and loves and protects all those kids. They need to obviously be careful and never leave the baby alone with the dog, I honestly wouldn’t leave my baby alone with any dog chihuahua or pit bull.

I have a beagle, and they have the opposite reputation of a pit bull. (They are so docile and forgiving they are used in animal testing). Even though my dog has never showed aggression before, I watch her like a hawk around little ones. Any dog can become overwhelmed and bite. They just need to take things slow and never leave the dog and baby alone together. I bet he’s great with her.
If they got rid of him just because they made the decision to get pregnant (he was there first!) I would judge the hell out of them for it. Don’t get a pet if it’s only temporary.

Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
Labs and golden retrievers actually are in the top 10 of breeds that have been involved in bites. Probably more because people are stupid and assume that since they are "family dogs," it's ok to leave the kids alone with them and let the kids climb all over them, than that they are aggressive.
Even if you think your dog is "sweet", you need to be careful.
When DB was locking Karma in Ollie's room at night, people commented that it might be not the best idea, and of course the minions jumped in, saying "Karma would NEVER bite Ollie! They're best friends!". Clueless.

I'm so glad I made a dog comment here. This thread hasn't seen this much activity on forever! Like I said, I do hope it all works out well and that love and calmness reigns.
Changing subjects......I hope Brittney is not too disappointed if Sophia is late. That's not uncommon with a first baby. Mine was two weeks late, I was going crazy!

Haha when I grew up the saying was the first one is always early the rest take nine mos! Of course I grew up when people got married if they got pregnant. Now there’s no stigma to out of wedlock babies.Gladys Kravitz I wrote:I'm so glad I made a dog comment here. This thread hasn't seen this much activity on forever! Yes, they were "premature" even though the baby weighed eight pounds right? lol yes my first was exactly two weeks and it was August and I was a crazy person! Hubby said all he heard was the three h's: I'm hungry, I hurt and I'm hot! was scheduled to go in finally and my water broke that morning at home! Hopefully Sophia won't be too late if at all!Ducklings4 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 4:54 pmHaha when I grew up the saying was the first one is always early the rest take nine mos! Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
Babies who are born 7+ pounds before 37 weeks are considered premature due to overall development (mainly immature lungs), not solely based on weight but it's a rare occurrence.
Personal: Unfortunately, I had to have an emergency cesarean at 36+4 due to preeclampsia and she weighed 4.6 pounds due to Intra-Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). If she didn't have IUGR, she would have been a healthy weight but still a preemie because she was born before 37 weeks and luckily I got steriod injections two weeks before her birth to help her lungs mature.

Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
Why do YouTubers all want their babies born weeks before expected due date? Do they want their babies in the nicu or something or do they want early baby views? Babies come when they want to not the other way around only if medically nessassary.

Has she talked about wanting her to come early? I mean other than the normal "I'm over it, please come bc i'm ready to not be pregnant anymore" kinda talk?Toodles123 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 7:10 am Why do YouTubers all want their babies born weeks before expected due date? Agreed, its going on about stuff like that , that will stop her from moving onward and upward. If she feels she will never escape the crime (she has completed the punishment given by the justice ) She may end up feeling less than, not enough, not confident with her child , socially withdraw or not participate in play groups etc .Toodles123 wrote:Can we drop the prison thing. She has matured from what I seen since getting out, yes she may of been questionable for the first few months in vlogs but I've seen a huge change in her over the past 6/7 months. She paid her time, she got out she should not have to hear about it all the time. Maybe she regrets what she does and still has the guilty feeling from it. She's going to be a mother now and I don't think her daughter should be able to read what's online about her mother. Sorry if I sound like a fan or a minion but it's time to move on from the prison thing.
Did anyone watch their baby league episode?

If you look at the list if top ten breeds causing bite injuries pitbulls sent there, poodles are small terriors and cattle dogs Shepard's huskies are.MommaLindsey2 wrote:I have no doubt that dog will be amazing with the baby. Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
Latest vlog was filmed on Wednesday the 20th and she was the same as last week at 39 wks, 1cm dialated. So she's disappointed. Cory is working one hour south of home for a week. Doc said if she doesn't do anything by Tuesday, come in and they will discuss scheduling induction.
She said going for a walk to hopefully help the situation!

Re: The Southern Fried Maple Leafs
her due date is the 23rd so this weekend I'd be over it it too (furthest I got was 38wks due to medical reasons and past c-section's)
and I was over it then
I just seen the usual I'm over it, where really to meet to you can come now type of thing
It isn't like other's that have the baby around 37-38wks with no medical reason because there Dr is happy to induce them
sound like she has a responsible Dr that has given her until Tuesday before they start talking induction
(hopefully we get some baby new over the weekend though)

No baby yet. They done a due date day date yesterday, spent the day together walking and eating spicy foods and what not. I think that was cute tho, spend some time together before the baby comes.

Britany and Cory both haven't posted everything and there are no further updates since
