I'm also trying to understand her decisions. Can someone give some background on the timeline of her degree w/respect to marriage, trying to have kids, and vlogging? From their early vlogs, I take it she had been finished and working for at least some time when they started trying for kids. Has she always said she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom? I'm thinking they were married before she finished her PhD, but didn't want kids for a few years, and then they ran into infertility/MC issues that delayed it a bit longer?

Most PhD programs that I know of, the students receive research assistant or teaching assistant positions which cover tuition and provide a small stipend. So I doubt she or her parents spent a lot of money on her PhD, but certainly invested a lot of time (and I'm sure they spent $$ on her bachelor's degree and her masters if she has one). Usually if the field is a really bad fit, you have the option of switching from PhD to Masters after the first couple years of coursework/exams (again if she didn't already have one). I'm not in her field, so these comments may not be relevant to her exact situation. But I think whether or not it cost her money is quite relevant to understanding why she might have pursued her PhD with no intention of it being a long-term career. I started a PhD at 26, but I would never have done it if I didn't get funding enough to live on and save some, and also if I already were married and/or trying for kids at the time.

She has always said that her dream since she was a little girl was to be a SAHM. I don't ever remember her talking about why she chose Child Psychology as a profession or what drove her to get her PhD.

U can bet she did it for the social look of high class.

Or....her parents pushed it on her. Those yuppies are ALL the same. I grew up around that fake, southern shit. I hold a lot of resentment, but that’s neither here or there. ANYWAYS, one of my old best friend’s parents were both doctors and they were constantly pushing academics and a specific college on her. She ended up running off to California, getting a medical billing and coding degree and marrying a firefighter. HILARIOUS! I’m sure her parents lost their minds.

I agree-- it would look good if she gets it done right! I have hair very similar to Katie's (very straight, fine, and thin). I asked my hair stylist about getting extensions for my hair and she said I would need at least 2-3 packs to make it look natural for added length. I could get away with 1 for just building up volume at my current length. Katie skimped and only got one. It's very pricey to maintain for sure and they clearly can't afford it. I personally am waiting until my wedding because it is a big investment!

Wow! They’re all “happy family” after a sponsorship payday, huh?
Katie cleaned up, laughed and played with Cullen and the kids and actually seemed happy to be the primary vlogger today. Crazy what a little extra cash will do to her personality.
Although, I’m sure once she spends it all on over bleaching her hair and jelly shoes at target, she’ll be back to her passive aggressive, resentful wife persona in no time.

I would LOVE a video from any of these vloggers that tells me what all this “work” is they do. None of the ones I watch daily vlog any more and all go on and on and on with how much work it is. They put out crap videos so they aren’t working that hard on the actual video?!

Dare i say it but it seems C&K may have made some positive changes in their lives!!

When Cullen disappeared from being in the vlogs much and they started being uploaded late I expected there would be a vlog mentioning their issues but opposite has happened!.The vlogs are mainly focused on Katie's day now and uploaded at a later time but they both seem happier, less tension and Katie definitely seems to be in a more productive mood than usual. I bet he's got another job and its doing them all the world of good.

i hope I'm not proven wrong in the coming days.lol

I would love to see a video from any vlogger on what it takes to actually edit a video. It might make me more empathetic towards their plight.
I don’t think Cullen has gotten a job, but that would be a good step for the two of them.

The anniversary vlog:

What is up with the unflattering thumbnail of Katie? Yikes. I've noticed he's been doing that a lot lately, especially of Gaines. Like he's purposely finding the least cute screenshot of her to use.

The quilt on their bed looked filthy. I have a dog, and I love him to pieces, but no way is he allowed in my bed. Ada was all in the sheets and everything. Yuck.

The "happiness" between these two seems extreme. I mentioned a few days ago that they legitimately seemed happier, but now it's over the top and does not feel authentic.
