ruby is tall for women standards (5'8") and kevin is not short either, so I don't understand shari or eve being so short.
all the other kids are pretty tall
this family has a poor diet anyway, they eat VERY small portions for dinner and snack on junk food.

An interesting observation to me in regards to Eve and Shari is that they seem to be built similar. Eve looks like Shari's clone from when Shari was younger. Curious to see what her growth pattern ends up being. I think the theories that Shari and Chad may have suffered from some forms of malnutrition due to both financial and educational levels may be accurate.

What is frustrating to me is that now (as opposed to when Shari was growing up) they have a lot more resources available to them. They have the financial means to purchase any food they wish and in theory access to medical professionals and specialists.

I'm very curious, as others have posted, if the doctor did indeed express concern in Eve's measurments or this is a Griffith diagnosis. I'm horrified that her solutions are force feeding the kid strawberry Pediasure & "whole milk, cream, eggs, protein..." What does she even mean by cream? Lord help them or Eve if any of the family got "mills" with whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits (not in the form of a milkshake or roll up) and lean healthy proteins. BYU has a nutrition & food science program, the resources are out there. However, Griffiths know best = full fat dairy products, refined carbs, and sugar...lots of sugar, (aka "treats").

I think Kevin gets a more rounded meal eating at the school cafeteria along with the dorm kids who are on a meal plan.'

I'd be so curious to know what the Griffith clans cholesterol levels are!

Kevin is average height (~5'10"), but Ruby isn't that tall. The mom from the Tannerites/Yawi vlog said in a vlog that she's 5'7" and when they all went to Thailand together a while back, Ruby was obviously a couple of inches shorter than her (both wearing similar shoes). So I'd put her at 5'4" or 5'5", which is average for a woman.

I think Shari mentioned on her own vlog channel that the doctor said part of the reason could be because of the surgery she had as a baby where they had to remove some of her intestines, which I guess could affect nutritional absorption and such when she was younger.

My impression was that she hadn't gone to the doctor about Eve's growth. That she had just noticed Eve wore the same size when they went school shopping. Maybe I'm wrong, but that was what I understood from what she said.

Now that you mention it, it could be Ruby looking at the size clothing. I'm sorry, I thought it was the doctor, but now I think you are right

She never takes her kids to the doctors anyways

I don’t believe either parent exhibits signs of NPD. They’re just lazy (Ruby) and self-absorbed (Kevin).

It’s very odd, because when her channel began, Ruby was all about the kids’ music and reading. The easy money must have fueled her inclination towards laziness.

A lot of these women who have tons of kids just enjoy the attention they get while pregnant and toting around an infant. Once the kids become sentient, they lose all interest.

Ruby hasn't taken Eve to the doctor, which I totally don't understand considering Shari's height.

They bought clothes and Ruby noticed that Eve was wearing the same size for the last 18 (?) months. After that she forced her to eat egg and cheese. Now she obviously has ordered some shakes or whatever to make her grow. How on earth doesn't she take Eve to the doctor before trying to self medicate her? Maybe there's a serious problem behind it, which should be tackled early on.

Ruby and Shari talked about their heights in one of the vlogs and if I remember correctly, Shari is 4`11 and Ruby 5`3. So even taking into consideration that Ruby isn't very tall, her being 5´3 and Kevin being taller, Sharis height is surprising (concerning?). Maybe she and Eve have the same condition, but Shari was never taken to the doctor about it, as Eve isn't now.

That's what Ruby answered under yesterday's vlog:

Shari height is definitely concerning. I always thought you would grow about as tall as your parents. Obviously there can be some difference but 4'11 is a big difference from 5'3. I'm almost 6' and my mom is about 5'6 but my father is 6', so I'm in between, which I always thought was normal.

Regarding Shari’s intestine surgery...she literally says in the video she had to have a few inches of her intestines cut out and then was switched from breast milk to a “nasty gross formula milk instead of the normal breast milk so maybe I didn’t get the nutrients I needed at that age so maybe that stunted my growth” all said with a confused look on her face, she’s literally just hypothesizing on that one. No doctor ever told her that and medically, that surgery or being formula fed shouldn’t have had any effect on her growth.

Maybe Shari, your parents overproduced and could afford to feed you a balanced diet so your growth was stunted??

Or maybe the just lost the genetics lottery in that category. Either way, she’s handling the situation now with Eve poorly. Feeding her cream to help her grow taller?! Seriously? How about seeing a pediatrician and discussing your concerns with a medical professional first. Determine if there’s even a real problem, then develop an actually healthy plan to tackle that problem.

Eve is going to get constipated with all of that dairy.
If a baby is not gaining enough weight post birth and a lot times the pediatrician will recommend mixing formula with breastmilk to add a little more fat to their diet. I blame this all on poor health and their parenting skills. Just like when Russel fell off the couch when he was a newborn and they never took him in, or when Julie was a toddler and was constantly peeing out of her diaper because Ruby was too busy to tend to her.

Ruby said that have a high carb diet and that’s because bread and pasta is cheap and fills you fast. If that’s all they’re eating they surely are missing a ton of nutrients.

All that fat is just going to chub her out. How about some lean protein and veggies?
Like I said, if she's so concerned, go to a nutritionist.
My mom wasn't growing enough, and they stuffed her with food and made her clean her plate. She had food issues all her adult life.

Eve should seriously go to the doctor. I was always a small child but I was healthy I just grew at a slower rate and the doctor gave me hormone to be able to grow, if they hadn't taken me then I would be as tall as Shari or shorter, I'm 5'1" which isn't tall but it helped me grow.
Maybe that's what Eve and Shari need, but Ruby and Kevin need to take them in.

whoops, I always thought ruby was tall, she just seems tall
but yes, if your toddler/preschooler hasn't grown any in a year that is very much cause for concern, at eve's age she should be growing like a weed.
Ruby's suggestion of dairy and eggs will not help, considering those are two items that most children with dietary problems are allergic to. They do need to see a nutritionist, it would greatly benefit the whole family on how to properly eat! As everyone else on here has said, giving eve more options of fruits veggies and protein throughout the day would be beneficial. I have a feeling eve is just the type of kid who doesn't really enjoy eating, she'll go half the day without bothering to eat so the parent has to set timers every hour or two to remind the child. "hey eve would you like to try this or this food?" "hey eve would you like to join me for a healthy snack?" just simple little things.

Have you seen Ruby’s cooking? All she makes is junk, bread, pasta, chicken noodle soup, and gross wheat pancakes. I wouldn’t eat if I was Eve either.

I’ve read somewhere that kids don’t really grow between ages 4 and 6 because almost all nutrition is used up by the brain because it develops so much in that age. Not saying that’s happening with Eve but a doctor would know better for sure.

Drs chart weight and height percentiles during annual physicals. This does not require a special trip to the dr if she keeps up with checkups. They would have told her that her growth is not charting upwards as it should.

Most of the Griffith's women are short! 4'11" isn't really that much shorter than Ellie or Jennifer - who are about 5'2".

Anyone else notice "8 Passengers" is a sponsor of the snotty kid's football team with their name and YT info on the scoreboard? That's pretty weird!! And really braggy!

What surgery did she have
She had what's called an intussusception, where the intestines kind of telescope in on themselves. So they have to take out the section that is involved.
I don't see why breast milk would be contraindicated, it's the best thing for babies. But it's been a while since I practiced as a nurse. But I had part of my small intestine out and only had to have a special diet for about a month.
