It's well known you can't get into Canada if you've had a DUI (like Allie Wes' situation), so is Brittany allowed into Canada with her likely felon status related to drug trafficking?? I doubt it! What strange situation to be in!! I'm guessing he HAD to move to Alabama or they'd have to break up!!
Woah, I had no idea about that, you can't even visit Canada if you've had one?
Nope. And ironically, AA had their world convention in Toronto one year. I know some people in recovery, and they were scrambling to get permission to enter Canada. Kinda crazy to hold a convention of a recovery group in a country that doesn't want felons or people with DUI's entering! http://www.ezbordercrossing.com/the-ins ... to-canada/

I had no idea about that! I wish that same criteria applied to those entering the US!

Can you clarify what you mean by putting troubled and addict in quotes? I think there's a really big misconception that people who struggle with addiction, though they me "troubled," can't be lovable and decent. It's hard to understand unless you or someone close to you is an addict, but it truly is a disease and I personally be all addicts (on some level) are genuinely decent people who are just struggling.

My nephew is young, not even drinking age yet and has been through rehab twice in the past year and a half for alcohol addiction. He has one of the biggest hearts of anyone i have ever met. He is an Eagle Scout who's service project was to provide bookbags full of supplies, books, and hygiene supplies for low income children in the community. He has continued with this project after it was completed for the year, and part of that time was when he was in the deepest depths of his addiction. His issues did not change the person that he is. I'm not saying every addict will be the same as he is, some can be really terrible people. But I agree with you, being an addict does not deem you unlovable or indecent.

She honestly seems to be really changed from what we know of her. I am happy for her if things are looking up. She seems like a good auntie.

I've been rewatching older vlogs when i get bored lately and seeing her now, vs seeing her then.. its like day and night. She seems much calmer and "adult" than before. I'm really glad for her. Seeing her with the kids really makes me happy. I hope she does well.

_She_ didn't buy it. Her boyfriend did. I am a little concerned about the "Brittany's house" comments. She just got out of jail. She has no money and no income, likely.. Speaking from experience, addicts need consequences. Yes, a couple of years in jail is a pretty big consequence. But getting out and moving into a fancy new house and everyone calling it "your" house, is not exactly making her work for it. It's hard to explain. And I am not slamming her for her addiction. Absolutely not. I have one friend who keeps relapsing, and I love her to death. And I truly hope Brittany does well. Sometimes jail is enough to jolt the person into making the changes. But meth is hard to get past.
I will shut up now. And I will reserve judgement. But I won't call it "Brittany's house". Maybe "Corey and Brittany's".

She lives there though, it is technically "her house". Saying something like that is like saying someone who rents their home can't call it their house bc they don't own it. Just bc she was in jail or had a drug problem doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve a nice home. Saying addicts need consequences in this context makes it sound like she doesn't deserve this home. If she had moved into a section 8 apt would you have issues with her calling it her home? I haven't watched the vlog but i doubt they are saying that she bought it, and is paying for it. I really don't understand the hate. Saying someone doesn't deserve a home they are living in bc they were once in jail for drugs is pretty mean spirited. She deserves happiness and nice things just as much as everyone else.
I do understand that things seem strange (the boyfriend and all that) but if shes happy and healthy and they are committed to one another then more power to her. He could have been a huge factor in her getting clean and sober. We don't know the story and likely won't. It just kinda rubs me the wrong way that just bc she has had some issues with drugs in her past that suddenly she's not allowed to call the home she lives in "her house" and no one else should call it that either. She has to call her home "Corey's house"? That's way too nitpicky and judgmental to me.. It's words, not her name on a title.
Brooks walking around with that little finger pushing all the buttons was just about the cutest damn thing ive ever seen. PUSH ALL THE BUTTONS!!!!!! lol

Cullen says in the vlog, "THEY have bought the house." So yes, they are making it seem that she helped to buy it, when that's most likely not possible. I'm sure she will be getting a job soon, and will help with the mortgage, utilities, expenses, etc. Technically it IS Corey's house, and NOT Britney's. I don't see anything wrong with Cullen or Brittney calling it her home though since she does live there.

It could very well be that the kids were left money when their father died. She could have put hers towards the down payment, it would also explain a bit more of the financial side of Cullen and Katies move.

Ehhh.. i get the technicality of it (probably) being only Corey's name on the title. It's just implying that she should have consequences, like not having a nice place to live bc she was jail is pretty awful in my opinion. If she's living there, will eventually be paying bills and contributing to the household then by all means it is her home. I don't care whos name is on the title. I mean hell my MIL's name isn't on her house, but shes lived there 50 years, so it's not her house? I guess since she's not been in jail is it, if she had been then she wouldnt deserve to call it that. That's what sits wrong with me.

Yep.. i was going to mention the same thing.. we have no idea what kind of money she had or has in the bank. We have no idea if she helped pay for this house or not, or if her name is on it. Going to jail does not always = i have no money..... (although meth is an expensive habit, i'm not discrediting that either. But we don't know what her situation is.)
I bought my house, my husband didn’t have a stable enough job yet so it was too much trouble to get him preapproved, so we put his income as 1$ so his name would be on the mortgage lol and my husband actually gave me most of the down payment from his dad passing away. I’m sure that’s what families with stay at home moms do. Maybe that’s what they did. Very possible she could have contributed.
I am NOT saying she doesn't deserve a nice place to live. That never entered my mind. And maybe I am nit picking. I have done it before with vloggers and probably will again. Cullen calling it "their home" is fine. It is their home. I was uncomfortable with all the posts saying "Brittany's house" like her boyfriend didn't have anything to do with it, when she just got out of jail last week. They're not married and they just moved in together, so who knows what is actually going to happen. Maybe I am just too cynical about the happily ever after here, because I have buried too many friends because of drugs and alcohol, so I am taking a wait and see attitude here. And relationships are hard when you're not trying to stay clean and sober. Just don't want the boyfriend and house to become more important than recovery. I'm obviously not getting my point across, so I am not going to press it. I just wanted to make it clear that I in no way think she deserves to be punished any more, or doesn't deserve a nice home. Of course she does.

She was dealing when she went to jail, so I wouldn't _think_ she had a lot. But it's quite true that she could have inheritance from their dad. It just doesn't _seem_ like she would have much. Lawyers are expensive too. And court fees and fines.
