I couldn't care less if Cullen went with her or stayed behind, but it was fucked up to bring Brooks out to the parade as sick as he was. Such idiots. Katie is certainly not the parent I thought she would be when I began watching them 4 years ago.

If anything is said, I'll bet Cullen is going to get all sarcastic and say things about how he shouldn't have any fun.Baconsgirl wrote:PLEASE PLEASE LET the paragraph be the end of it. Hopefully no mention in the vlog tomorrow.

Wow, actually defending him in the vlog comments-- Cullen must have been getting raked over the coals. I agree that he should have stayed sober. They should have taken Brooks to urgent care sooner, and Cullen should have stayed sober in case he was needed. He may have been "a phone call away," but if he was drunk, he wasn't doing Gaines any good, and wouldn't be able to help Katie if she needed him.
One question-- I didn't watch the whole vlog because I have little patience for partying Cullen. Was Brooks _actually_ taken to the hospital, or was it urgent care? Because "rushed to the hospital" and "rushed to urgent care" are two very different things, semantically and in reality.
And why was the Q & A called "Live Q & A in Bed"? Who cares if they are in bed, on the couch, or in the kitchen? Was it some weird attempt at titillation? Cullen is such an overgrown child.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
I really don't understand why anyone would want a shout out from C&K. Or any other content creator. They're just people, really very ordinary people. Come to think of it, I don't understand autographs or celebrity culture in general. I wonder if it's human nature to elevate and worship? Like maybe in a medieval fantasy story, Katie would be the Duchess of Alabama and Cullen would be the the King's royal arse-wiper, but since it's 2017 and we live in the US, they have a YT channel.
In any case, though, I've watched a few live chats hosted by various internet personalities and every last one of them was a waste of time (generally spent saying "hi soandso, thanks soandso), regardless of platform or the host's wattage. The superfan feature is tacky AF, although I suppose it makes sense for vloggers to tap into every revenue stream available, to "get while the getting's good," as my dad would say. I can't imagine donating to vloggers in this way, and while I get that giving money via superchat is a matter of personal choice, it feels an awful lot like the it leverages a kinship or one-sided friendship that viewers may feel toward C&K. Undoubtedly people who earn much less than them will donate, or already have. Remember, there are still people who think Ellie only buys her boys a few changes of clothes because she and Jared are unemployed and need to economize. I would imagine that the majority of viewers are pretty clueless about the earning potential of YT.
I don't really think both parents needed to go through Urgent Care with Brooks. Cullen is an overgrown child, and I say that semi-fondly (although, yes, he is getting more annoying). I have tried putting myself in Katie's shoes - she knows all of his flaws, and is with him anyway, and has been for a very long time. That doesn't mean she can't turn off the camera and rip into him, or that she deserves to be the responsible caregiver while Cullen is a funtime-only parent, but it kind of is what it is. It's really unlikely that adding Cullen to the Urgent Care trip, with or without Gaines, would have improved the experience. I don't even like to take my husband grocery shopping, lol.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
I don't necessarily think he needed to go, but he didn't need to get hammered. Katie's comment said something about all the adults there in case she needed help. But Cullen is Brooks father. It's his responsibility to be her backup. So if Brooks had deteriorated, and she needed him, he wouldn't have been able to drive. And no he didn't need to sit there all glum. But he didn't need to vlog himself having a blast, either. It made him look callous.

I haven't watched the vlog yet but read Katie's comment. They must be really getting hell for her to respond like this.

I think my biggest problem with Cullen during this vlog was when he has Gaines that close to the ledge today. I know he had her but if she had freaked out or leaned too far....*shudder* My heart skipped a beat.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
With the superchat (donation) thing in the stream, I’m not putting it past them to have put it on intentionally, however, I was watching another livestream just now and they had one donation come through right at the end and it was the first one of the stream, the streamer seemed genuinely confused what it was, so I think it must be an automatic thing or it’s possible for people to turn it on not realising what it is

Nope. It's 100% manual. Cullen had to go turn it on on purpose. He knew what he was doing...their views are TERRIBLE and I'm sure they are looking for extra $$$.Lurker4Life wrote:With the superchat (donation) thing in the stream, I’m not putting it past them to have put it on intentionally, however, I was watching another livestream just now and they had one donation come through right at the end and it was the first one of the stream, the streamer seemed genuinely confused what it was, so I think it must be an automatic thing or it’s possible for people to turn it on not realising what it is

I wonder did Katie read here tonight from her rant on the comment section of the latest video.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
While I presume they knew what they were doing, there is a slim chance however (0.0001%) that yes, they may have enabled it, but if your not paying active attention or haven't actually looked into what it is you may just enable it thinking its a chat feature or something, not donations. Anyway, I doubt that was a case but just threw it out there cause I've seen it a few timesewokfan11 wrote:Nope. It's 100% manual. Cullen had to go turn it on on purpose. Bryan used to get shit on all of the time for not going to routine doctors appointments but somehow it's okay to skip out on urgent care? Cullen is a piss poor excuse for a parent who does nothing to enhance or contribute to his kids lives and Katie knows it.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
Have all the negative comments been deleted? Urgh. What I find concerning (which people have said above) is how either a. Katie knows Cullen was in the wrong or even more concerning that b. she legitimately thinks she did the right thing and Cullen would have made the situation worse. If b. is the case, then she's become blinded on what healthy parenting should be. If I had been in this situation, even if I didn't want my partner to come and stay with our other child I would want them sober so at least if something went downhill they could get there quickly. I find it weird how normal Cullen seemed to be throughout the day, like if he was worried or concerned I'm sure it would have been in the vlog to milk more sympathy but no, there wasn't.
Its worrying how Katie thinks/says Cullen coming with her would have cause so much drama, makes me wonder what has happened in the past.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
I can't tolerate drunk people, even if it's in a social gathering due to my alcoholic mother and it pissed me off when he had clearly been drinking to the point of being an annoyance. I know I said earlier Katie preferred to take Brooks herself and that's fine, however if I was in that situation with my child taken to urgent care/ER, my husband would be with me to support ME. I know everyone handles situations differently and that's Katie's decision if she wanted to be alone with Brooks and I concur that Cullen in the state he was in would not have made the situation better, just worse.
I also don't agree with shoving a camera in a sick child's face when they're clearly miserable - never liked when they did that, but it's their vlog and can do what they want, I just don't support it. I agree with everyone they shouldn't have taken a sick child to a parade when it was hot. However, with croup it is best to wait it out as there is nothing a doctor can do, but in this case, it was good they went because he also had bronchiolitis(sp?) which needed a nebulizer for to help his breathing. They shouldn't have waited at the end of the day though to take him, better safe than sorry!
I think Cullen is still a great father despite his drunkenness on the vlog, Yes, he does like to have fun, is a fun crazy and silly but that does not mean he is not a good father. He loves his kids, provides for them, plays with them. Katie is more the nurturer and seems like she prefers that. Could he improve with helping out with the kids more? Definitely! Did we forget he was staying home in the beginning with Gaines while Katie went to work? People have different parenting styles and we choose to comment on theirs because they publicly put their lives on camera to make a living. People will judge no matter what if you're a SAHP, working parent, single parent, poor, rich, etc.
tl;dr I don't agree with Cullen being drunk, was Katie's decision to be the one to take Brooks and that's fine. Shouldn't have taken Brooks out when he was sick. Don't like cameras shoved in sick kids faces. Cullen is still a good father despite his flaws.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
I agree with Katie on this one, there was zero reason for Cullen and MG and everyone else to be at Urgent Care. Katie was fine with it, so i see no reason to bitch about it. MG had fun with her dad and grandparents and Brooks was fine. Cullen also didn't seem drunk to me, a little buzzed, yes, and wouldn't have been able to drive. But there were plenty of grandparents who were not drinking (i don't think) that would have been able to take Cullen to Katie and Brooks if things went down hill (and who would want to be there with Cullen if things got so bad Katie thought he needed to be there)
Also, no one is forcing anyone to pay for superchat. If people want to spend money on something like that then so be it. It's just like buying merch. No i wouldn't do it, but that's my decision and C&K have no control over other decisions. I would turn it on if i were in their place, if people want to pay to talk to them that's their prerogative and a good business decision on C&K's end. Does it make the livestream annoying? Sure, but i just dont watch them. C&K aren't forcing anyone to pay to watch, just like M&B aren't forcing anyone to buy their ugly backpacks. It's 100% the same principal.

I agree with you above. I think Cullen is a good dad. I think he made some really poor decisions at the game though. Maybe lay off drinking in case you need to be at the hospital etc. The stupid stunt with Big Al and putting Gaines by the edge of the building was too much. I can't imagine Katie watching the vlog and agreeing with his behavior.

Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
I think if the comments bothered Cullen enough he could have addressed them himself too. I watched their Sam and Nia response video long before I watched them. I kept wondering why Cullen wasn't talking more about the situation and just letting Katie. This kind of reminds me of that. Maybe Cullen will address it in today's vlog.
Re: C&K: The Struggle is Real...ly Hard to Relate (Part 14)
That is why I considered their actions as encouraging people to use superchat. They didn’t actually tell people to give money, but only focused on the people who were because it was easier to. Maybe their actions were indirect but they were still doing it.lmmomSD wrote:Thank you. And I do think it's different than merch. Merch, you get something tangible. You get a t-shirt. A shout out is a pretty lame thing, and it's gratifying their egos that someone is willing to give them money for a freaking shout out. The one person they told not to do another SuperChat did anyway, so her husband would get a thanks by name, because they got so caught up in answering the SuperChats. I think Cullen is every bit as skeevy as his friends when it comes to money, like I said earlier.ewokfan11 wrote:Cullen looks like a complete asshole in today's vlog!!! What a dick. He should feel ashamed of himself!!!workfromhomemom wrote: I know, it bothered me too. C'mon Cullen be better than that.
As for Superchat for livestreams, users have to MANUALLY turn it on in the settings!!! Cullen would have had to turn it on and he KNEW it was turned on.
And I know I have lots of bad things to say about a lot of vloggers. But I am honestly not "looking for things to hate on", or however it was put. I love Sam and Jenn. I say lots of nice things about them. I generally like Bonnie. And I know I never really liked Cullen, but I used to like Katie. But either he's rubbing off on her, or the stress is wearing her down, or something-- but she's changed. I don't get why Cullen and Katie get so much of a pass on things that other vloggers get crap for. The sick kids in the thumbnails and using them as little money makers, selling "weight loss" aids, etc.

If they continue to use it for their next livestreams, I think we’ll know what their focus is: Money, money, money. It’s pretty sad if you think about it.
