Someone earlier said they thought Jared wanted folks to see the real Ellie more because he didn't edit it in the video. I checked the comments last night and although the posts really tearing into her were removed, quite a few posts were still there. First time since I have been watching them every day that I have seen posts that didn't paint them as the perfect couple and perfect parents allowed to stay. Kind of backs up the theory of the person saying he wanted people to really see how she acts!

I wonder if Jared realized that he’s driving a lot of the audience away by filtering the comments so much? Subs are still coming on at a good rate, and yet views are down. How can you get 40k new subs every month and still not have your views go up? I saw another comment calling them out for never responding to comments and engaging with the viewers, so maybe he’s trying to be relatable?

Then again, the overly defensive responses are worse than not saying anything, so maybe he’s just so used to Ellie being like that he doesn’t notice it to the same extent we do. It’s definitely not a new thing. Weve seen it many times before.

I'm late with these comments because I don't watch over the weekends: Calvin hiding when he realized he was being filmed was so sad. Give him some damn privacy and a speech eval! There's seriously no harm in an evaluation. But sure, keep scheduling dermatologist appointments for yourself and ignore your kids.
Why couldn't they tell the other kids to keep their hands off the hot wheels toy until Jackson had a chance to see it?? He is too sweet and probably didn't even care but I just think one day they are going to push him too far and take advantage of his caring nature for the last time.

The worst part about Calvin hiding and running away was how upset he looked, and instead of one of the three adults standing there going to comfort him, they all sat there cackling like it was some big joke. Even Bonnie, who I think is very nurturing (way more so than Ellie or Grandma Griff).

As for the derma appt, I'm kind of glad that she made it if it's truly a freckle that turned into a raised mole overnight, but it looks like a zit to me.

I can't stand this pregnancy talk anymore. I know I've said it multiple times, but sheesh! Every new vlog has to mention pregnancy in it. It would be different if she was genuine and had her kids' best interests in mind, but she clearly doesn't! She doesn't give them the proper resources they need to thrive let alone the attention that they need/want. It's always about her. Like with Jackson, it's never about what he wants or likes- it's always about what Ellie gets from HIM! Seriously, this baby is just gonna be another manufactured thing for Ellie to suck the life out of. It's Ellie's world... and the people around her influence the behavior

No, only that no one voted for the tech stuff but neither them care because they believe in vlogging about whatever they want as long as it makes them happy. Jared had to "clarify" in the comments today. I'm still not clear on what he is getting at. No one wants to watch you drone on about tech stuff Jared, you are driving away customers (aka viewers) by boring them to death and your survey proves it. Why not try to make positive changes and save that stuff for his personal channel? I'm convinced they aren't really interested in channel growth with their "we'll do whatever we want despite what the audience cares about" attitude.

Jared can’t be Joel, just as he couldn’t be Casey Neistat or the next Try Guys. He needs to stop trying to steal the ideas of other creators and find his own style. Joel’s sense of humour is what is funny, it isn’t just the clips themselves.... more like how he frames or views a scene. He has an adoration and appreciation for his kids that Jared just doesn’t have. Jares is too preoccupied with keeping Ellie happy to ever really notice his kids and their little personalities. He will never be Joel.

First time writing on here. I have been reading for a long time and these two seriously make me question their perception of parenting. I am 21 and a parent of two and I can't believe some of the things they do. First off Ellie lets the boys play downstairs all by themselves all the time. They could fall down the stairs, the could be playing with all the outlets that are not covered, anything could happen and she seems to want to be as far away from them as possible. In today's vlog she said it was 3 in the afternoon and she was going to take a bath. You can hear the kids while she is saying this so she is again going to let those boys unattended for "Ellie time." I'm sorry but any parent knows that while those children are awake it is not about you. You save baths and showers until they are asleep. I could hardly get through the vlog where they moved Calvin into Jackson's bed. Why do they dislike Jackson so much. I get having two beds in the room but why do they have to be in the same bed. I know there are more rooms in that house. Instead of making Jackson parent why don't they give Calvin his own room and if he gets out of bed, be a parent and deal with it. Your 4 year old should not be in charge of it. Did you see how upset Ellie was when she found out it was a boy. You could see she was faking her reaction. I felt so bad for Julie at her gender reveal. It always has to be about Ellie and Julie was overshadowed and made fun of. Jared just seems like he is too busy trying to make Ellie happy. His happiness does not seem at all important to her. He spoils her and she doesn't care.

As much as I despise E+J, I must say that Jared used to do an amazing job editing, but maybe a year or so ago (probably when they were finishing the house) that all changed and they started getting super lazy and it all went down the shitter. I’ve never thought Bonnie and Joel ever did anything over the top with editing, which for me was fine because I think they are fairly low key and down to earth on their vlogs most of the time and not showing off which expensive thing they got or which expensive activity they’re doing so the editing kind of matched the tone of the vlogs. (Not saying anything negative about Bonnie and Joel’s editing). But if it’s starting to seem like Jared is having to “copy” Joel’s editing, which isn’t fancy or over the top (but good and you can tell thought was put into it), then that is really saying something about how Jared has been about editing the last several months or so. I have noticed lots of choppiness in E+J’s vlogs as well as lots of clips that have no sound at all (which I’m sure should have sound or were intended to have sound)...and it just looks terrible. Those spots are like big red flags that hey, Jared was doing this at the last minute (despite having 2-3 days to edit any given vlog now) and he missed something in his rush to upload his late vlog. I seriously don’t know what he/they do all the time to make the delay necessary, to keep them from uploading on time and causing Jared to make up every excuse under the sun, and for the quality of the editing and vlogs in general to downhill so fast. The vlogs were actually good before Calvin was born and they have slowly and steadily gotten worse...but it’s gotten REAL bad since maybe sometime in the summer.

You said it so well. Joel and Bonnie very clearly have a loving relationship and marriage where they adore each other (yet they also don’t pretend they are perfect either). Ellie and Jared are a sham. Everything is a show for the cameras, they are always “acting” to try to put off the image of “relationship goals” as their young minion viewers say. Ellie wears the pants in the relationship A she gets what she wants, Jared caters to her and lets her act that way, she lives for Jared doing everything for her and making the money so she can spend, spend, spend. Bonnie and Joel are great parents and genuinely love their kids, really appreciate and point out all the different things about each one that makes them special, and don’t play favorites. Yes, Bonnie enjoys her “me” time when she can get it but she doesn’t just dump super young kids in the basement to fend for themselves all day long either. She plays with and interacts with the kids, they participate in activities (swim lessons, Olivia with piano, Cody did tee ball for a bit). Bonnie keeps her house super clean, lives in a much smaller (but in my opinion nicer and more loving) space, but does it all while juggling *4* kids, not just 2. Joel has a really good head on his shoulder and appreciates everything he has. He has the attitude, as he says, of “use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without”. Ellie and Jared would just rather buy new things. Joel has a work ethic and Jared does not. Joel is witty and actually funny. Jared tries way too hard and is obnoxious because he, like Ellie, must always be the center of attention and cannot deal when someone else has the spotlight or is doing better than they are. Though Bonnie and Ellie have the same level of education, Bonnie is much more down to earth and has more common sense...she may make up or mispronounce a word sometimes but kind of makes fun of herself and seems to want to get it straight what word she’s trying to use. Ellie is just a dumbass. Bonnie is harder on her kids and Ellie and Jared just laugh at and take pictures of everything and don’t discipline. Bonnie and Joel really ARE appreciative of the life and career that they’re able to have and know that it’s because of the viewers who support them. Their thank yous and comments to viewers are genuine. Ellie and Jared just like to talk about how “grateful” to make themselves sound good. They really aren’t grateful...because, you know, they do this for themselves right? And they’d have their house and their lifestyle without viewers and being on YouTube, right?!

The kids are just brushed off to the side. They do these vlogs and have speeches, no one cares about their speeches, they want to see the kids play and Ellie doesn't interact with the kids barely at all.

She's what's called, in the narcissist world, an Emotional Vampire. She sure has the teeth for it And she's doing a 'great' job at sucking the life and little spirit out of Jackson. That's probably why her family have always given in to her as it's the less exhausting option. Still exhausting of course - you only have to look at Jared's haggard and wrinkled face.
