DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
I know Ollie is still young but his reaction to losing the rock climbing competition annoyed me.
Bryan's response annoyed me even more. "He only won because he's taller than you"
Um, how about teach your child not to be a poor sport?

Bryan’s response bothered me too. He needs to teach the kids that sometimes you just lose rather then finding an excuse as to why they lost. Like, obviously Ollie would have won if he was taller! Also, I bet Bryan spends a lot of his day trying to find the next trendy thing to blow their money one. It’s literally something new daily. I honestly used to like them but the constant bragging is just nauseating. I don’t hate them but it’s getting harder and harder to watch.

They can’t write off the horse. It doesn’t work like that.queentee20 wrote:They’re creating an entitled little monster with the way they’ve been raising him. Also I know this is SUPER annoying but a lot of their purchases (like the horse) could be a tax write off if they vlog and use it for their business. I was SO annoyed at Gabbie Hanna when she explained how she LIVES for a living and so basically everything is a tax write off... but who really knows, i just like to think there’s a valid reason for their spending rather than just trying to fill a hole.

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
That still isn’t how it works. Owning a horse is not a business in and of itself. I have no doubt they are making bank, but their accountant can’t pull incentives out his ass like that. They can’t afford to have the IRS on their asses because they were playing tricks. Any good accountant is going to be extremely by the book.queentee20 wrote:“Claim your horses as a business–as long as you follow certain rules. In addition, you must turn a profit within seven years to establish yourself as a viable business to the IRS.”HelloSweetie wrote:

These guys are making bank I’m sure their accountant can find a way... but I wasn’t really saying the horse is a tax deductible (though there are ways...) it’s just the first BIG purchase that popped into my mind.

A "horse business" is not just someone who bought themselves a horse and happens to also have a business. The profit they make would need to be from a working farm that involves the horse, breeding, showing the horse, etc. That's an awful long way to go to be able to save a few hundred a year. They can write off a portion of their home and vehicle, but nowhere near as many things as people tend to think YTers deduct. They really do just spend a lot of money. They aren't getting a ton of things free by just deducting the cost. Its a discount at best.

Yeah, she's a real "equethtrian"-- especially the way she dresses up to go riding. I would almost respect her more if she got chaps and cowboy boots. And a big belt buckle. I have a friend who is a real rodeo queen. She wears some crazy outfits for her appearances. I can see Missy dressing up like that...

They might be able to claim a very, very small portion of the horse and related expenses because it is being shown in the vlogs. But for it to be a full write off (deduction) they would have to have a working farm (not a hobby farm) or be operating a breeding farm. Not just showing the horse in the vlogs.

Just revisiting this, because I think a lot of people are confused about how this works.lmmomSD wrote: And he didn't even write all the songs on "Us". He had a ghost writer help with at least one song.
Having co-writers and collaborators is not the same thing as having “ghostwriters”.
Bryan writes lyrics and basic melodies. He’s not a composer. The guy who tweeted about having his song “picked up” for the album wasn’t a ghostwriter. He’s a music composer.
So, Bryan wrote lyrics and a basic melody, and then shopped a catalogue for a composed track that would fit the song with minimal alteration.
Another way songs get written is when the lyricist and composer work together and write both parts simultaneously. (If you watch Gabbie Hanna, she showed this process on her channel)
Bryan isn’t passing off work as his own, like authors that use ghostwriters. He is writing the songs himself, while collaborating with other artists.

I wasn’t really bothered by Ollie’s reaction to loosing, it’s a very normal 4 year old response. However, Bryan should have encouraged him to congratulate the kid who beat him and teach him how to be a good sport, not say oh he’s taller. It’s so apparent that missy and Bryan really have no clue how to parent.

The only reason I find it weird when he does that, is because of the way he acts in general. As you said, it's another thing that is normal, but M&B don't treat the situation correctly.sarahelizabeth_1 wrote:I wasn’t really bothered by Ollie’s reaction to loosing, it’s a very normal 4 year old response. I don't know if I'm part of the change in the board (and sorry if I am lol ) but either way, I've noticed it too and it's one of the reasons I haven't been on much. That and they're so boring. They do vaguely interesting things and that's it...I'm gonna need them to have a baby to get back on here regularly lol.

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
There’s always infighting on the board when they get insufferably boring.
I don’t even know how much longer I’ll be able to hate watch them. I pretty much just watch them out of habit now, and really only as background noise. Half the time something is mentioned here, I have to go back and watch because I missed it entirely.
And I don’t want them to do anything “exciting”, or go somewhere, or buy something crazy, or get pregnant. That’s all boring too.
I would seriously rather watch ten minutes of them just talk about something they are genuinely interested or excited about than sit through these colourful, loud, fake-ass scripted vlogs. Watching rich idiots spend money is not entertaining.
I may as well just go back to afternoon soaps. They’re more realistic anyway.

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
Honestly, if Missy and Bryan became more like afternoon soaps, I'd be here for it. Like, if they revealed that they found out they're actually half-siblings (and Cassie is Bryan's full sibling) and this Bryan is actually his evil twin Ryan (hence the personality change hidden beneath a vaguely Bryan-like person) who they thought disappeared when a plane he was on to some island disappeared, but in actuality he knocked out Bryan and sent him to an island so he could take his place...I would be here for it
But no, I actually agree that it would be nice to see them just talk about something they're excited about. Or just have a plain day. The reason I got into them was because I liked watching their normal-ish, typical lives. Wish we could go back to that, but their lives are so far from normal now...

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
It is so sad to go back and watch their old vlogs, now. Especially the ones when Missy was pregnant. Some of their issues have always been there. They have always eaten out a ton, but their diets weren’t always as bad as they are, now. Especially Bryan. They have always overly relied on Mimi and Papa. They just seemed so real in those days. Doing goofy challenges with each other and going night swimming all the time. They seemed so in love and like best friends. They lived in a freaking garage and were happier than they are now in their mansion. Watching these vloggers has shown me that money does not buy happiness.
Now they have no friends, they are miserable and have zero parenting standards. Missy wanted to cloth diaper and make own organic baby food!!! It amazes me how much they have changed in 5 years.

Re: DailyBumps100ThreadsOfClickbait (Part 100!)
Fair enough. But my impression is that he acts like he's writing it all by himself without collaboration. Especially on that particular album, where he was saying that he was baring his soul and revealing secrets about their relationship..He never mentioned collaboration, and is happy to take credit for the songs. If one of the other songwriters hadn't tweeted about it, I don't think anyone would know. Although I hope that on the actual album, credit is given.Theirmom wrote:Just revisiting this, because I think a lot of people are confused about how this works.lmmomSD wrote: And he didn't even write all the songs on "Us". I'm bored of them too. I don't even know anymore what's going to be exciting about another pregnancy-Missy will complain for 9 months, there will be the usual gender speculation, a couple weeks of WHERE IS BABY clickbait, and then another spoiled rotten child will come into the world. The Circle of Lanning.
