I think it was more like: My kid fell and hurt herself and I know YT will demonetize me if I show it but I still want to make money off this video so I'll give it a catchy title that makes it sounds like I care about the rules. And then I'll put the focus on trying to protect my kid from embarrassment to look like I'm really not exploiting my children.

STOP FILMING YOUR CHILD! Julie clearly stated she didn’t want her face to be on camera as she was embarrased, so Ruby takes that *literally* and films every other part of her body except her face so she can add some drama to the vlog. Just put the camera down and take care of your poor child. I wonder if it was related to bullying because I know she has had trouble at school in the past. If Ruby took a second to speak to her child about it (off camera) she might have a clearer idea. tAlso I love Abby for taking care of her sister, it brought a tear to my eye when she brought her a popsicle

Love the idea of Julie being treated like a queen. I hope it's not just for the camera. That girl deserves all the attention on her, at least occasionally. She's one heck of an amazing little girl.

I would love to see, just once, from any of these family vloggers, a time where a child injuries themselves and we don't find out about it until later, in a transparent but respectful way. Something like, "You may be wondering why Julie's face is scratched. She hurt herself a few days ago at school. We chose not to vlog about it." And leave it at that. As their lives are so public, I guess they can't really get away with having a young child with a noticeable injury without explaining it a bit (like a baby with a big bump on the head or something) but wouldn't it be so nice if they just didn't exploit it for views and money?

The thing I found most disturbing was all the camera angles that she was setting up after she had already missed one of Julie's calls, like we don't need to see you walking places and driving, or you reacting to the nurse telling you what's wrong, it always makes me feel weird when she films inside the school.

I'm glad Julie is smart enough and aware enough to ask for her face to not be shown and that Ruby didn't show it.

Oh my god. She just posted a new vlog, and shows Julie in the thumbnail. Poor girl, it looks so bad and painful . I hope she’s feeling okay. I don’t watch the vlogs cause I can’t stand ruby but this is a whole other level.

Eve and Russell both had two servings and Ruby had at least one serving of the Hello fresh meal.. and they still had that much leftover?? Not that they need to eat the entire thing, but there was barely any missing! Ruby is so weird with her miniature portions.

Shari is an extreme overachiever. Ruby tries to make it seem like she's self motivated, but I suspect that Ruby instilled this in her long before they started vlogging. She's always wanted these kids to come off as perfect. I hope she doesn't have some kind of breakdown in the future. She was literally shaking because she wanted to get started on her homework so bad.

Julie said she wanted to be on camera towards the end of the vlog. Still, Ruby is milking the injury for profit...nothing has changed.

Ruby is relying to subtly skate around the new youtube rules with Julie's face. It was just as clickbaity to add to the title that they can't show her face as it would be to write "HORRIFIC FACE INJURY EMERGENCY" as the title. Julie came in at the end of the blog and said Ruby could record her face now. I still think that was coerced and find it completely disrespectful to put it in the thumbnail. And Ruby totally fed her the lines that were something like "thanks for all the nice comments, they really helped me feel better"...umm no they didn't!! With Ruby's schedule this all happened like 7-10 days ago. Julie didn't see any nice comments the next day. So weird to pretend they did..

With the Hello fresh...Ruby AT LEAST doubled that recipe! There are four packs of sausage out when she pans through all the ingredients. I'm pretty sure that meal only includes one pack of sausage...so she maybe even quadrupled it. She's acting like one freaking meal is feeding her family of 8 for 2 nights...WRONG!! Liar. Those meals are meant for 4 people, I can't believe she's trying to see it like one kit made that much.

Also, Shari's habits concern me a bit. She is obsessive. It's great to have a hobby put her extreme dedication to it and desire to be perfect at everything is going to start to take a serious toll on her mental health. Ruby at least kind of seems to recognize and acknowledge it but I can almost see her having complete mental break down from placing such extreme amounts of stress on her self.

^^ I agree with everything you've said above, except that I think Shari's "obsessiveness" is a bit hammed up for the vlogs. I feel like she's sort of type-cast as the intellectual over-achiever, and while I know she takes school work seriously (e.g. when she was upset about her math mark) I think some of this is overdone for the vlogs. I sincerely doubt she read 7 textbooks in a few days, or whatever they claimed she did. I was an extreme overachiever in school so I could be bias and comparing myself to her (which isn't good I know) but something tells me this is a little bit of an act. Still, though, if she's playing the part, it could cause her a lot of stress in the future anyway. Maybe I'm not making any sense....just a thought...

I totally agree! While I think Shari’s dreams of becoming a lawyer are totally achievable, she needs to not over due her academic intake so young (and this is coming from a teacher!) I can’t tell you how many 9th or 10th graders are extremely avid about their studies and then they’re in college and are so burnt out, or they spent their lives wanting to be something and realized in college it’s not what they want. But on the other hand, there are people who thrive off academic achievement and structure. Two of my very good friends are in law school and medical school, one was more lackadaisical in her studies but managed to get very good grades, and the other (to this day) lacks an interesting social life and has always been very regimented with her work.

I do question how much is not only put on for the vlogs, but also how honest Ruby is about her lack of pressure towards Shari. I could totally see Ruby making passive aggressive remarks about “that’s not how you’d become a lawyer” etc.

Dark circles is usually an indication of liver troubles

It could also just be low iron or full blown anemia. In a child I wouldn't necessarily assume liver troubles right away in an otherwise healthy kid.. in a adult maybe, but not a little kid. Anemia is much more likely with persistent dark under eye circles.. they seem to eat mostly carbs (and not good carbs like brown rice or quinoa but mostly white bread, pancakes, desserts and treats). They definitely do not eat enough vegetables, fibre or good-quality protein. They do eat some chicken and beef occasionally but never seem to eat fish.

Well I am sure it's different in everyone! Different symptoms in different people do happen. I've had anemia on and off since I was a kid and although I always have a bit of shadow/darkness under my eyes no matter how much sleep I get or how good my iron/diet is simply because I am fair-skinned with blueish/cool undertones (pale redhead), but my under eye circles get much, much worse when my iron is low. My sister, mom, and several aunts have struggled with anemia as well since it seems to run in the women in our family and all of them have said and noticed the same... dark circles which get worse whenever anemia is worse. But again, we are quite pale so it is noticeable in our faces. On someone a bit more tan, golden or darker toned it wouldn't stand out so much anyways, or some people just may not get that symptom. But it's not uncommon to hear a link between undereye circles and anemia so it's not like I just made that up.

Doesn't mean everyone will get that symptom if they are anemic of course. Anyways, yeah, we're derailing off-topic a lot LOL.

Russel's behaviour is really weird.. why is nothing every said to him when he has these little yelly tantrum things all the time? I'm not saying to harshly scold him but even if she just said "Russel, use your inside voice, you're hurting our ears," I don't see the problem with saying that. It's not just about the family either.. that kid is going to have social problems if he continues to act so strange and over-the-top. Emotionally he is very strange.

And then Ruby instagram stories that she ate 1/3 pan of brownies all by herself. I think I know why she eats little "real food" now. She is sugar obsessed which if it wasn't obvious to her manic bakery trips when their kitchen was being worked on it became more obvious when she gets that gleam in her eye about buying whole boxes of treats just for herself and not sharing with the kids. My next question would be why isn't she obese? Honestly? I am a little and I do not eat half the sweets we see her eat on camera and they are high calorie and carb/sugar filled things.
