NOPE!! i hope they wind up getting sued to hell and back over this. This could totally be considered a breech of contract.FakingIt_MakingIt wrote:Did she ever say in her little rant/explanation that they got permission from the landlord? Because sod can get pricey to maintain, especially in a hot/dry climate. I cant imagine a landlord would be happy about the added water bill, and likely a landscaping bill because the next renters might not take care of it!

Her little speech means nothing. It doesn't change the fact that they only put sod on half the yard. No person in their right mind ia you g to be like "gee, thanks! You finished half the yard!" Now when they leave he has to do the other half. Morons.

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
Exactly. How is sod on _half_ a yard "leaving your rental better than you found it"? Haven't they complained about this landlord before? I have a _great_ landlady, and I would never take on something like that. I have done a few small repairs because I am handy enough to do them right, but I have always checked first! If it's something pricey, she gives me a discount on the rent.Steps_to_STFU wrote:Her little speech means nothing. It doesn't change the fact that they only put sod on half the yard. They're morons. I have never seen two supposed adults as clueless about basic adulting as they are.

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
I just don't get how someone can be so Damn stupid. I hope their landlord loses his shit on them. I mean if he thought having grass would help his rental property, he would have put it in himself! Just like he would have gotten a working fridge. He's a cheap landlord and them making such a costly change that will end up falling on him to care for, he's going to be pissed.
Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
Ok I don’t mean to be nit picky but... they are called PERMITS Corbin not TICKETS. You aren’t going to a movie you’re literally asking for permission from the Havasupai tribe to camp on their land. Also it’s not just a ten mile hike in and back, it’s a backpacking trip. Honestly I hope these bozos don’t get a permit. They are exactly the type of people to not respect the land, leave trash, and complain the whole time.

I can see them trying to carve “the wander family” into the canyon wall and Corbin being all “look my lovvvve. Our little family will be here forever. How speciaaal” gag

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
Anyone else feel like they're going on this hike because it's trendy and they think having the name of the waterfall in their tags will bring more views? Because planning vacations is fun, but not really worthy of a "big announcement." I expected they would go to another country. I hadn't even heard of this hike before they talked about it, TBH.

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
I honestly don't see them actually doing the hike. That's A LOT of planning and they just don't seem up for planning anything and really doing it. Six+ hour drive and a 10-mile hike and remote camping with a baby?? They couldn't even make it ONE night camping in a cabin because of a few BUGS!!!! So they now want to try tent camping in the desert in Arizona with snakes and scorpions? FFS.
Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
Exactly. They lived in Portland and rarely ever went hiking. Hell, On their van trip they rarely ever went hiking. There’s even tons of hiking near where they live but they never go. Now they are going to suddenly hike ten miles in one go? Sure Jan.ewokfan11 wrote:I honestly don't see them actually doing the hike. For people who hardly go hiking or camping with their baby... it’s an all around bad idea. They don’t possess basic first aid skills, are not skilled back packers, and like you said...they couldn’t even handle bugs. This is not one of those things where they can just pack up camp, hop in their car and go.

Also, I’m not saying that it’s not possible to do such a trip with a baby. It totally is, my husband and son just got back from my sons 6th summit up Half Dome (he’s actually summited it more times than me and he’s 8!) but my husband is first aid certified, an avid outdoorsman, and educated on the elements. This is just plain dangerous of them. I hope that if they do go, they don’t bring June with them. For her safety.

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
I have friends who camp a LOT, and just had a baby girl. They're looking forward to camping with her, but the dad is a paramedic, and they have spent their last vacations in Yosemite. Not in a lodge, either. So I am not worried about them. But these two morons? Please, no.alyssadt wrote:Also, I’m not saying that it’s not possible to do such a trip with a baby. Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
Are they trying to get back on the 'we're such travellers!' train since Bryan and Missy have obviously cut the chord? Someone should tell them that travelling in the country you live in really doesn't make you a traveller...you'd have to actually see more of the world than one trip to Italy for that. I think the truth is they don't really like travelling, they like vacations which are NOT the same thing.

Re: Steps to Controlling Your Spouse
These people I just can't. Going to take a baby on a 20 mile hike in shit weather and blaring sun. It's like they want to do everything they did before having a kid and she's an afterthought. Have they taken into account that she could be uncomfortable or unhappy. The risks to the baby ? They have because they read some blogs lol. I don't doubt there are people who can do it and do. Those people have more than one brain cell split between two morons.
But hey, maybe Corbin the douchebag will play one of his epic (sarcasm) pranks where he goes way overboard and pretends he dropped June down the canyon in retaliation for Kelsey's pranks of throwing a water balloon at him. Cause you know...ahahah payback !
