I hope YouTube permanently demonitizes them for using cancer & illness as clickbait. Poor Jackson has to deal with his ugly, non verbal brother Calvin & a narsasistic mother. Jackson is an absolute angel & I'm not sure where he gets it from. E & J are absolutely disgusting & appalling. Ellie needs to stop showing her herpes lip on camera. BARF. Jared is fake, unrelatable, and his sexuality is questionable. There is NOTHING wrong with being gay at all, but he is DEFINITELY hiding it. Come out already...

I get you not liking them! I don't either. And I also get why you wonder about Jared's sexuality. I do too! However, I think it is important to stress that coming out can still be super scary and hiding your sexuality can still be a matter of personal safety (considering certain types of surroundings/family structures etc.). Please keep this in mind when judging someone else's situation. Back to E&J: that makes Jared's situation even sooo much sadder (if we are right).

So I know this isn’t their thread, but Bryan and Missy just posted a video saying they are not daily vlogging anymore. I haven’t watched them since Finn was born, but felt compelled to click on the less than 5 minutes blog called “Channel Update.”

So I know this isn’t their thread, but Bryan and Missy just posted a video saying they are not daily vlogging anymore. I haven’t watched them since Finn was born, but felt compelled to click on the less than 5 minutes blog called “Channel Update.”

Someone on the DB thread (just went there to see what people were saying) say that they think the “YouTube won’t be around forever” is happening NOW (I’d agree and I know several others have commented here that they feel the same) and that they wouldn’t be surprised if YouTube goes to a subscription, Netflix-type format. I watch very few vloggers anymore (I watch and Bonnie and Joel all the time, occasionally Cullen and Katie depending on what’s going on, and I hate watch Ellie and Jared - which I need to stop doing so they stop getting my views)...and definitely would NOT pay for a subscription, so I think that would cost a lot of even big vloggers income because I doubt adults would pay to continue watching especially when the focus is being turned to all content having to be appropriate for children. Not that I watch anything inappropriate, I just mean I have no desire to watch content geared toward children. I’d want to watch adult vloggers that I can actually relate to. That would be a shame to go to that format too as there are a lot of things on YouTube besides just “vloggers”.

I don't think anyone actually thinks they have a perfect life and the general consensus is that there are definite mental health issues there but they will never be addressed. When I read the title i thought they were going to address something real, instead she went to a church seminar probably to get out of the house and said she was feeling a little blue. Like that is just a kick on the face to people who are seriously seeking help or need to.

A while back I watched the Griffiths Throwback Videos again and in one video Ellie jumps on the kitchen counter and screams "I'M THE BOSS!!" extremely aggressively in Ruby's face. Ruby looked annoyed af and it was silent in the room before the scene cut off. Ellie has always been the attention seeker in the family and even as a little child in these videos she seems to be completely crazy. I don't know if this IS her actual character or if something happened in her very early life that made her become like this. Also, I'm in no way supporting her behavior but I know what it feels like to loose your mind because of mental health issues and my behavior wasn't the exact same but there definitely are similarities. There were times when I only had mean things to say, I did weird things and acted really off. Luckily I come from a household that takes mental health really seriously and so I got help quickly but since Ellie doesn't seem to realize that what she's saying and doing is unhealthy and it's NOT just because of Thyroid issues I don't see her getting better. And it's only going to get worse when the baby is here. She's the kind of friend that would quit talking with you if you would advise them to get serious professional help even if you said that out of worry for your friend. She'll think you're overreacting and a little bit of prayer and a baby will make everything better.

On Ellie+mental health: She definitely wouldn't have sought help, if not for the "healthcare professional" talking to her at church. As someone who has dealt with depression for most of my life, and who advocates for mental health care in the US, I was not impressed by the way she handled talking about it on the blog. I also take great issue with church counseling. Especially within the mormon church. If she wants to get help, great! Just go see an unbiased professional...

There has already been YouTube Red for awhile now that you have to pay and subscribe to. It might all go that way, you may be right but I would think if it was ending that they would want to vlog every day and stock up on that money that will be gone. They might know something we don't, another type of money making deal with their family etc. I guess we will find out.

Wow I didn't notice that before, that was really weird. I'm not convinced it wasn't Calvin who said it but he definitely didn't say it then. It could have been him doing his own voice over, either way super weird.

That obviously notice and acknowledge his speech delay and are trying to cover it up though. :/

There was speculation of his doing voiceovers for Calvin during the Disney Cruise as well.. i think.. I do know i have heard and seen things that seem like voiceovers for Calvin, even in the past weeks vlogs. I would not put it past Jared at all. It's terrible to say but i swear that kid is basically mute.
