I think there’s a good reason why they might have left — whether due to these scandals or something else. IFB churches tend to work members to the point of burn out, which could easily have been the problem. Maybe I’ll write out my whole theory sometime. After watching that Q&A a few years ago, I felt a connection with Missy (I already felt like I could relate to her — back in the old days) because I have brushed with IFB culture. So I started to reason why they might have left, gathered clues from their videos, etc.actuallydear wrote:I think I love you! I wish there was, because then we'd likely get some more insight to why Missy is like she is. Maybe.
On one of Missy’s Q&A, her mom talked about a girls club Missy was part of — Denim and Lace. That’s a Hyles-Anderson Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church program. That’s what I think they came out of.
I did a little googling and found this: http://ramblingsofsheldon.blogspot.com. ... s-and.html
If you look into it, it’s a huuuuge rabbit hole (at least for me). But it totally explains Missy, their church situation, family dynamics, and their Draw My Life video.
