Cullen was good for a laugh in her twenties. She acted much the same as him in their earlier vlogs. But she expected him to turn into jay or her dad and become a very successful provider giving her a country club, stay at home mom life. And that’s just not happening.
People change, I get that, but Cullen shouldn’t be expected to meet her ideals while she does next to nothing to meet him half way.

Even just about painting that dang slide, I’m sure it was a project Katie had on his list, and even if it wasn’t, why couldn’t she watch the does for an hour?
They must have planned what they wanted done that day because Cullen thought she would go buy the shelves for the garage and she didn’t do that either. What did she do all day?

I do still think Cullen has some major issues going on, but he is very obviously trying to make Katie happy. And if she can’t move past whatever the issue is, Then that’s on her. She can’t “punish” him or expect him to be the only one making changes and still think it’ll work.

She probably wishes he had an outside, well paying job and she had time alone without him under her feet all day. The cute funny guy in his '20's has now become an obnoxious, irresponsible 30 closing in on 40 something and she no longer finds it charming. I may be totally wrong but that's how I see it...he is the same, she has changed.
Yeah, she changed from a hard working business professional to a lazy sloth with high expectations and nagging demands. He is who he is and always has been. She picked him! She flipped the script and decided she wanted someone who could support her and the lavish lifestyle she feels she deserves. That is neither fair, nor mature.

That is so true. It makes you wonder why she spent years getting her degrees only to sit home and become what she has become. She grew up in a lavish lifestyle but chose a mate totally different from her father. I still believe the death spiral of so many youTube marriages seems to occur when they give up their careers to become stay at home vloggers thinking they will get rich quickly and won't need to work so hard. What they don't realize is that being in each other's face 24/7 will become old very fast.

I hope not. The last thing they need is to bring a newborn into the mix.
I agree that everything Cullen does irritates Katie-- just the way he breathes probably bugs her. You can't marry someone thinking they'll change. If she married Cullen thinking one day he'd grow up and be like her dad, she needs a reality check. Cullen is who he is. And if she can't accept him anymore, she needs to move on.

IMO, Cullen has annoying tendencies and always has but I tend to see a different side of him now. It seems he works tirelessly to please Katie and makeup for whatever he feels his "shortcomings" are at the time. It appears Katie is too selfish to give him the time he needs to work through his issues, she just demands more and more. The tension seems to be coming to a head again...

He sent out a tweet hours ago saying that because of all the celebrating they were doing for Katie’s birthday, he forgot to make the vlog live, and he would have it up in a few minutes. A few hours later he said family came over right after his last tweet, and he didn’t get a chance to make it live. It’s been yet another hour since that tweet, and still no vlog.

I don’t know much about YT, but isn’t it just a few clicks to make a vlog live that is already uploaded to the channel? I call bullshit, and he didn’t have a vlog ready at all and is using Katie’s birthday as an excuse.

I noticed that just a few days ago when I looked up how old Katie is and was wondering how recent it was.

So I don't know whether to think it's completely silly, or be jealous of the fact that Katie's entire family still celebrates her birthday with a party and presents after the age of 18.

Is this not normal? I’m 36 and we still do it up big every year for my entire family.

I have no idea. None of my family and friends make a big deal about birthdays after college. Maybe go out to dinner with some friends. Perhaps a gift from your significant other. Cards from your parents and in-laws. Maybe I'm just missing out and should demand a birthday week? I guess in Katie's defense, their entire family live very close to one another so it's not a big thing to have everyone come over for dinner.

I’m nearly 30 and we still do a family dinner and cake. Not a full out party, we have family dinner every Sunday anyways but always an ice cream cake and some gifts!

Same! Sunday dinner every weekend at my Grandmother’s house with cake and a few small cards/gifts.

We still do celebrate like that. Why would it stop after 18? Imo after 18 is when you really need emotional support from family (late teens early 20s can be hard times) so a birthday party can be a nice time. We have no age limit for family birthday parties.

Katie is well into her 30s. I agree thats its always over the top when it comes to Cullen and Katies birthdays. Its a whole birthday month and then dinner every night for their birthday week. Finally they have a big birthday party. Cullen’s are always bigger than Katie’s though. They always do a big halloween party for his birthday.

I am in the definitely jealous club. Birthdays aren’t as fun as an adult. Maybe later this year for my birthday i will have to think of something new to do! Haha
