Re: Phil and Alex
I am pretty sure it is a blighted ovum. Alex said they are praying for a miracle at this point. Sadly, this does not look viable.
I think Alex needs a new Doctor, more tests to find out what's wrong. This jumping into transfer after transfer is not smart.
Do you know how many frozen embryos they have left?

Re: Phil and Alex
I think the doc is dragging them along since she’s showing no signs of miscarriage. Poor Alex. Why can’t the doc be realistic? And stop giving them false hope? Like a week or so ago..

Re: Phil and Alex
The pic they posted on twitter said it wasn't good news. The area is larger than last week (Sorry doll parts I don't mean to repeat what you've just said) but it's not the size it should be for this gestation. And they couldn't find a yolk.
If you read twitter comments people are reaching which begs the question if they ever took biology in school. Some are saying well maybe your aren't as far along as you thought you were which is impossible considering they did FET. One was wanting to see a heartbeat which isn't usually possible until weeks later.
What it could be is signs of a miscarriage to come. A lot of miscarriages happen around 6-8 weeks. I don't think the embryo was a good quality embryo

I think the doctor is a crack pot. She is not being upfront and having Alex do more testing.

The Dr. is a scumbag. P&A need to fire her and find a good Dr that can help them. I think the Dr. sees $$$$. I sure she knows P&A have money flowing in from their subscribers.Amelia322 wrote:I think the doc is dragging them along since she’s showing no signs of miscarriage. Poor Alex. Re: Phil and Alex
Exactly. This so called fans are doing more harm than good. A heartbeat should be visible at 6+5 (I am going off my personal experience. And OMG right people saying she may not be as far along as she thought...WUT??????????? Is wrong with these people?eab424 wrote:The pic they posted on twitter said it wasn't good news. It possible that maybe all their embryos are not good quality? I have heard around around here that Phil's sperm is sub-par.

Re: Phil and Alex
Its the borderline at 6 weeks it's the first week that it starts beating, so some can be seen and some can't which is why some are asked to have another ultrasound a few weeks later. But the fact they can't see the yolk is bad. Not sure why they'd drag it out if this is a blighted Ovum another week when she might not need to. I feel like all the injections have helped delay the inevitable.i_am_doll_parts wrote:Exactly. This so called fans are doing more harm than good. Yes Phil's sperm isn't good. But Alex also has stage 4 endo which is the worst it can get. I think they've may have done a procedure to help with the endo in her uterus. But if Phil's sperm are as few and slow at swimming and aren't of a good quality the doctor can only do so much. I have to wonder if the doctor did any tests to see if the embryos are good enough to be viable because so far they've transferred 3 times and they've had three bad outcomes all three times.
Re: Phil and Alex
This doctor needs to go. Why is she stringing them along like this? We have said for a week now that this doesn't look good but she won't say it to them. At my ultrasound at 6.5 weeks, I saw a visible blob of a baby with a heartbeat. This is not viable and I hope the doctor was finally upfront with them. We could have told them that last week with her lack of anything on the U/S and low, low beta #'s.
Re: Phil and Alex
That was actually a complaint one review I have read about this doctor and her clinic had. But we also have to see that Alex is a nicu nurse and has access to medical information. I kind of feel like she has more than the average patients knowledge. I also feel like they should've had embryos tested. They clearly aren't of good quality just by looking at the numbers we've seen all along.LittleRus wrote:This doctor needs to go. Why is she stringing them along like this? Re: Phil and Alex
I will be honest here my 6 week scan was like Alex it looked like nothing but I wasn't bleeding so I booked to see anothe gyne but he could only see me at 8 weeks he said he doesn't like seen people before that because of the baby is developing slowly it causes unnecessary heartache . At my 8 week scan I had a little seahorse with a heartbeat
Re: Phil and Alex
That is true but her bata numbers aren't good and haven't been. At 6 weeks you can't see much but you should be able to see the yolk sac which feeds the pregnancy until the placenta takes over at this point. You won't see much of a baby yet at 6 weeks that is true and people seeing the heartbeat is 50/50 because six weeks is when the heart starts to beat.brittosmond1912 wrote:I will be honest here my 6 week scan was like Alex it looked like nothing but I wasn't bleeding so I booked to see anothe gyne but he could only see me at 8 weeks he said he doesn't like seen people before that because of the baby is developing slowly it causes unnecessary heartache . Re: Phil and Alex
Also is she having external scans? My gyne who is a high risk specialist (I had meningitis at 5 weeks pregnant ) wouldn't do externals only internals until 12 weeks because of just that he said I can only see the sac externally no baby that early . I don't think she would be filming internals though they rather private
Re: Phil and Alex
Anytime I've seen her have an ultrasound she has that lap blanket over her and it looks like she's having a vaginal ultrasound. She's too early to have a abdominal at this point.brittosmond1912 wrote:Also is she having external scans? Re: Phil and Alex
I sincerely hope they take their remaining embryos and run. Time for a new doctor.
I do hope they get pregnant and unlike many here, I see nothing wrong with their desire for a bio child - they are so young - and also see nothing wrong with them saying they didn't beat infertility until this pregnancy. They have two adopted daughters, yes, but they did not beat infertility because until now, she has never been pregnant. As long as they are financially capable (we don't know they aren't), I see no reason for them to not keep trying for a bio kid, and I think they will love all their kids the same, and love their two girls deeply even if they never wind up having a bio baby.
I do hope to see Phil get off his ass though and get a job. I know he's a preacher (well, was) and they're super religious and all, but... a real job. Especially if they want 3+ kids.

Re: Phil and Alex
ive never seen a pregnancy situation like theirs.
i dont want to say anything but ...that ultrasound pic looks off to me. a baby's heartbeat starts at 6 weeks, you should be able to detect it on a ultrasound at 6 weeks.
you should be able to see SOMETHING and i find it alarming you can't

Re: Phil and Alex
Marsala- nobody here wishes them ill will or not to have a successful pregnancy. The issues lie with how they act prior to them getting pregnant. I genuinely hope they have a successful pregnancy. And in many adoption circles, they count their adoptions as a way of saying they beat infertility. They have children which at the end of the day is the goal. Beating infertility doesn't necessarily mean you've gotten pregnant and gave birth full term to biological children.
They were financially capable, however things have changed in the last several months. Alex rarely works norm would be to see her work 3 12 hour shifts per week. And phil quit his job as a pastor to start the charity and they've admitted they are living on donations. That is not financially responsible.
Maggielin- heartbeats start beating at 6 weeks it's not out of the norm to not see a heart beat. This is why a lot of OB clinics will not do regular ultrasounds before 8weeks. In both of my pregnancies that lasted the longest, the heartbeat was not seen on ultrasound. While some people can see the heartbeat there are also some who go on to have viable pregnancies who have not at 6 weeks.
The concerning part is that they cannot see the yolk which is very bad.

Re: Phil and Alex
someone on instagram posted this comment about how god is telling them to adopt and saying no to pregnancy. its totally the wrong time to say it, even if i happen to agree. I think that's what prompted the tweets from their twitter.
Oh and this doctor... i just can't with her.
