I barely watch their videos anymore...so boring, but watched the 5 year update for Ollie. He still cant sing the abcs properly.... my two year old is more accurate.

If Ollie really doesn't have a delay, I'm just wondering what extent of not interacting with your kids it takes to have them not completely know the abcs by age 5!! The abcs and numbers 1-10 are on practically every crappy youtube kids video that exists!

Ollie actually reminds me a lot of how my autistic younger brother was as a young child - the speech/ronunciation problems, food, getting overvelmed if there is something he don't understand or can't do...

I'm not saying he is autistic, because I. absolutely don't think he is! But I do think it sounds like he would benefit from some therapy or something. Just so he can be a more happy and self confident kid.

Hopefully the "transitional kindergarden" will help him - I have no idea what that means.

And a question I have, in the US the age of childrem when they start school - in my country it is after the year you turn 6. So my class was children born in 1997, and I started school in 2003. (of couse there was a few older. Because not all are ready at the same time... But that is not my point)

So our "cut of day" would in theory be the 1st of January.. But the American way is not separating according to birth year? Right? That is my questian, lol.

I hope it makes sense.

Transitional kindergarten is more prek teaching him skills to get ready for kindergarten.

Sounds like she’s keeping him behind... why is she making it seem like he’s ahead? I’m confused....

He’s 5 before school year starts so if he we’re to go into kinder he’d be the youngest yes but he’s not.

If Oliver started in a regular Kindergarten class, then he would likely be within the average age. Not oldest or youngest.

In TK though, he will definitely be older. Missy probably thinks this is going to give him an advantage and make him above his peers, but I really doubt it. Whatever issues have caused him to not be ready for kindergarten at this point, will likely prevent him from catching on quickly and excelling in this program as well. Her laziness has delayed his development, and there won’t be a quick fix for that. She is essentially holding him back another year. Has they been more consistent with preschool like most parents, he would absolutely have been ready.

She and Bryan have NO clue about child development and what milestones their sons should be hitting. And it's pure laziness, because there is so much information out there! They think you just need to feed, shelter and clothe them, and the rest will come by itself. Remember how amazed Bryan was when Mimi was drawing shapes on a table cloth and teaching them to Ollie (he was something like three at the time), and Bryan was saying he was a genius because he could remember what a triangle was? They're clueless and lazy, and their sons are paying for it. Finn is delayed in his speech now too, not surprisingly. All they ever ask are yes/no questions. "Are you excited?"

my son's birthday is late Aug. I sent him to Kinder thinking if he did not do well I would just hold him back.. He did 2 years of preschool age 3 and 4.. At the end of his year of Kinder he did really well so we sent him to 1st grade. Again, I thought he if did not do well I would just hold him back since he just made the cut off by 6 days. When he was at the end of his first grade year his teacher took me aside and said he was doing great and to keep him on schedule and send him to second grade. She told me that if I had held him back he would have been bored and probably would not have done so well. He is gradated from college now and has a bachelors in Mathematics and Science. When he gradated high school he was in honors classes .. When he graduated college he graduated magna cum laude (sp) He missed summa by 1 point.. Oliver problem is , his parents do not work with him. They want him to play but playing can only do so much .. He can barely say his ABC , he still has speech problems but hey he can mimic Bryan to say what they want him to say they can use their son to make millions

I just watched the all about Ollie. Thank Goodness he is not going into kindergarten. He is behind. Hopefully this year will catch him up. I wonder how many days he will miss for trips.

Well, they're taking more and more trips without the kids, so hopefully, he won't miss too much. They're really enjoying the money their kids are bringing in.

It was because she wanted to be included in the “mom club.” Much like how every YTer wants to be included in the infertility/loss community as it suits them. Now that Missy is a parent, she wants that mom badge to mean something extra special.... and that means excluding anyone without the daily struggle of a living child.

She sacrifices don’t you know.

About the ABC thing.... how has a child that has had an iPad in front of him very day for his entire life not shit? My kid knows all kinds of things I know I didn’t teach him! There are so many good options for educational shows on YT, and B&M have no excuse for not exposing Oliver to them. It really does have to be intentional. That, or he really may have a learning disability.

I wonder if Kelsey and Corbin were pushed to become Missy and Bryan 2.0 Even Bryan said their rental was like their rental before moving into the McMansion. I have a feeling Kelsey wanted that lifestyle more than Corbin, but financially it became attractive to both of them so they gave it a try. Obviously, it didn’t work out.

However can I point out that Kelsey and Corbin are kind of dumb? What is wrong with having a home base and traveling around? There is plenty for them to visit. They rarely adventure out ANYWHERE. This RV trip will turn into the van trip — visiting nowhere and hanging out in Walmart parking lots.

Jesus, seriously? My 3 year old just learned ABCs and sings from Q-Z like every day I have to remind him of the 16 other letters in the alphabet And he counts to 30 but says "20-10" instead of "30" haha...and here I am worried about holding him from preschool this year because his little brother or sister comes in February :\
