I know they're very strict as far as children's needs go. I had a feeling she was lying from day 1,she probably just wanted to sound more interesting. As a military spouse, I know NOTHING is EVER set in stone, so I never say anything. Vanessa needs to learn a thing or two. Now if David is getting out, theeeeeen I'd be right about that plot twist I mentioned in the other thread. Also, just wanna mention, I went through leaps and bounds to get my dog to Hawaii with our family. He had to stay with my mom for six months, but I was able to get him there. He goes wherever we go, because he's family. The problem with military families is they seem to think it's okay to get a new dog at every duty station. (I have a few friends like that) and drop them. It's very confusing and upsetting for the kids.
Yup, spot on! So is it a common thing to be in the military for what? two years tops? and then to just quit? That seems like the initial investment of training and stuff would just go to waste, right?
Most people get out after their contract is over. Some people enter the military thinking it's going to be something completely different than it is and aren't willing to put in the hard work that's actually required. For instance, my husband is infantry and it requires a lot, but he's putting in A LOT of work to switch over to being a pilot. It's not simple. It's actually very hard and definitely not an easy way out or an easy life. If he's security in the AF, he's probably what would be considered an "MP" Or military police. I could be wrong, but that could help him get into law enforcement if he does get out. That's basically it though.

You are correct. Army calls them military police (MP) air force calls them security forces (SF)

I wonder where they’ll end up going, some bases have a higher level of EFMP care due to area. DC/Baltimore would be a great place for them, Walter Reed and John Hopkins are fantastic hospitals. I’m sure she really wanted to move to Japan, everyone I know loved it but it just wasn’t realistic. Hopefully they hurry along his orders and they’ll find out where they’re heading to next.

We got denied ft. Hood due to them not having a specialist I needed at the time. Ft. Carson even said they are having to turn down efmp cuz they lost a few specialty doctors here. It's crazy. With my sons needs we are not eligible for any oconus (even Hawaii and alaska). I think she knew all along they were gonna get denied and just wanted some pity.

I got turned down going to japan because of my anxiety and depression medication. My children and I had to stay back in the states while my husband went 2 years unaccompanied. It just blows my mind that they would even think for a second that Lily would have been cleared.

I am getting the feeling that she is not very informed in regards to how the military works (pcs wise)and the services that they provide for Efmp members... she also doesn't look like a perso who would be on top of all her things in order to speed things up.

Sorry if this is a pain but to those of us totally clueless on the US military, could someone in the know give us a quick rundown of all these abbreviations/general length of service/why he would be stationwd somewhere like Japan? I'm not from the US and I don't know anyone in the army to ask, but I've seen some military wives post here. Thank you!

My husband is in the army so some thing might be different! But these are some of the things we have mentioned here:

PCS:permanent change of station, this happens after a service member re-enlists or comes back from an unaccompanied assignment (Like in David's case)

EFMP: exceptional family member program, this is a program to accommodate any medical need that a dependent might have. Mostly specialists for dependents with medical conditions that are not treated by a regular dr. This program also covers any special education needs. A lot of overseas bases dont have actual military hospitals and that means that they don't have a lot of specialists, some just have clinics with regular drs. For example the base we are going in Europe only has a family clinic if we where to have an emergency we have to go to a ER off post.

The US military has bases overseas and this is why some members get stationed there. Some people chose to go there when the reenlist some just get orders and have no saying.

Initial term enlistment (first time) is normally 3 years. After that members can reenlist for 2 years (minimum and up) some even have an option for an indefinite reenlistment (mostly high ranking members).

Hope this helps a little bit!

This is what confuses me, why doesn't your military take into account local specialists? What happens, say, if you had a child with special needs and the medical centre for their condition was in Germany so you ask for a German posting. Would they take that into consideration?

And why do you ship your trash back to America from your base in central Australia and import your own KFC there??? Or at least please tell me that last insanity has changed in the decade since my family lived in Alice.

I love that Vanessa could have a whole series on these questions and even vlog finding out the answers, not just do sit downs about it all, but instead this gossip forum has come to a halt because she's too dull right now (and unmotivated) to warrant actual gossip. I still think she'd do well with an actual manager who had business sense and could help steer her channel into a more profitable endeavour. Although, as it currently stands, maybe her channel still truly reflects the "hobby/for posterity" concept they all claim their vlogging to be.

That’s so surprising. I’m in Temple and Baylor has taken over every hospital in this area from Killeen to Round Rock it seems. I can’t believe they didn’t have the specialist you needed!!

Of course she copies Britch. No wonder the other girl is always calling her out for copying. Vanessa come on, I know you’re trying but you were better when you didn’t care about what others thought Image

Well, that was no suprise. Gotta be centre of everything afterall...

Why not something original and not a copy of Britney? Or something still related to the fact she's a mother, but not as lame as before?

I barely watch her videos as it is, but when I do it's not because of her...
