DailyTeasingPregnancy (Daily Bumps) - Part 105

It really shows where Ollie gets it from when two grown adults cry just because their kid was put on some meds for a short amount of time. But once Finn gets this done to him, it won't be a big deal. Also why was she even worried to begin with? I never thought a root canal was a concerning thing, although he is five. Why was she freaking out about his mental state? He wasn't going to be tortured in the room or anything! I get that it's their first kid, but maybe they should have thought of this before they stopped taking him to the dentist.
I can’t fault them for crying, if they did. I bawled like a baby when my son had to get blood work day after day for severe jaundice as a newborn. I cried when my other son had to get stitches at 2 years old after a bounce house collision with his cousin. And I cried this morning when I dropped our newly adopted rescue pup off at the vet to get spayed (she was abused at her old home and is very skittish, and she’s gotten so attached and comfortable with me I felt like a horrible person leaving her there when she was scared and with strangers.). If there is anything I’m not going criticize these idiots over, it would be about getting emotional over seeing their child scared and helpless. Honestly I hope they cried out of guilt, since he’s in that situation because they are lazy useless parents. That is if they even got emotional. I find it hard to believe that missy was crying so much when her eyeliner isn’t smudged and she’s making cutesy boomerangs in the waiting room.

Also, I am assuming she’s scared for his “mental state” because root canals are typically very painful. I’m not sure if they go about the procedure in a different way these days, or if pain meds have improved, but I had a root canal at 6 or 7 and I still remember the pain afterward.

i think it was moreso because any time anyone goes under anesthesia there is a risk, and i could understand being nervous about that... but she is so insanely dramatic.

also i’m not saying parents should never cry in front of their kids, but if they were making a big deal out of it before he even left, OBVIOUSLY he’s going to be extra anxious. couldn’t these dim wits hold it together for five minutes? cry once he’s gone! don’t freak him out when he’s already scared.

She always does that. She gets him all worked up. He'll be fine, and she'll go on and on about how it's ok to be scared, until he realizes maybe there's a reason to be scared, and gets riled up. When she lied to him about getting shots and he was so upset, every time he started to calm down, she would bring it up again, and he would start crying all over. She didn't do what normal parents would do, and say "Yes, it hurt, but it's over now, and you are ok". I don't know if it's for views or if she's just that dense and clueless about children.

Her most recent Insta story, my god I hope she is ashamed of herself for doing this to that poor child. Obviously not though because she wouldn't be putting it on Instagram if she was! Those kids should be taken off them and given to parents who will actually take care of them!

True but it’s the first thing I saw too, it’s just weird to see on wallpaper, and most of the comments were pointing it out. Especially because of what it’s used for, it’s funny to see it on wallpaper. I feel like that would be a huge coincidence if that’s not what she’s referring to.

Wow Ollie's teeth! I have five children and my oldest is 12 1/2. They've been going too the dentist since they were two years old. None of them have a cavity. I can't say anything though. I'm 45 and I still don't have any cavities myself and yes I go too the dentist every six months as I have since my 5th birthday. Now my poor husband on the other hand is a different story he has several cavities even with going too the dentist reguarly. None of my kids have ever been afraid of the dentist that's probably because we have always made it sound like a fun experience.

I have terrible teeth, regardless of monitoring. Genetics can play a huge part, and individual health (blood sugar one). However, the only time I needed a root canal was after skipping the dentist for two years and ignoring symptoms. At five years old, Ollie may not be able to communicate he’s in discomfort or pain. It came become normal, but we’ve also seen them shove him in front of the TV to appease him so who knows how long it’s been ignored.

If he had gone to the dentist regularly, it would have been caught. If they didn’t indulge him with candy every single day with sugary and carb laden meals, it may have been prevented. If Missy hadn’t publicly voiced and defended both of those decisions, the snark level wouldn’t have been so high.

I hope Ollie will be okay. My root canal failed (common) and needed a re-root canal and will now need to be pulled because that also failed.

i can tell when my DOG, who cannot communicate with words, is in pain and discomfort.... so you can bet i’d be able to tell if a child was in pain even if they couldn’t express it fully.

they’re just lazy parents and don’t care. period

Another photo shoot. if it’s so top secret, why even say anything?

These two are horrible parents when it comes to preparing Ollie for things like the dentist. They’ve known for awhile about the root canal yet they did nothing to prep him for the mask, etc. not for a minute do I believe that she was crying... she had perfect makeup and was busy on her phone.

I can understand the crying. We could even say that the child has unfortunately bad teeth that has nothing to do with his diet (I mean, I suppose it's remotely possible?), but wouldn't it be a wake up call to stop with the juice and the candy and stuff if that were the case? And, like someone so accurately pointed out, I don't understand the boomerang worried face. I will never understand the boomerang worried face.

I also don't believe she cried. Even with waterproof mascara, there would have been tracks in her face makeup.
And I agree about the worried face boomerang. I've done check-ins from the dentist office, or when waiting for procedures for myself. But never for my kids. I have always been too focused on them to do social media posts about their procedures while they're happening. You could argue that their living comes from social media, but the whole boomerang was so fake and staged. And using your kids' medical/dental procedures for attention/views is wrong on so many levels.

Okay, so normally I come on here just to scroll through the drama and tea and have a good time, but this time I HAD to make an account and comment. Okay, so, when Missy was talking about when Ollie walked into the room and saw a mask and started to cry I couldn't help but comment something out loud. I was in a class at my school for children and working with them and such. We did a project on sick children and them going to the hospital, now all this information is from a book. It said you should talk to the child, comfort them, and tell them what is going to happen, obviously not all of it, but there should be no surprises like them getting put under. What Missy did yesterday was very risky and super damaging for Ollies mental states. Also, she should have expected the screaming and crying if she didn't tell him and also has been instilling the fear of the dentists since the day Oliver got his first tooth. I used to be a huge fan of the daily bumps. I started watching when Oliver was around 6 months old but stopped after they got Zuri. I always watched the dentist videos and cringed because of how scared Oliver was, even though I had seen many children going to the dentists at his age and they were completely calm.

Perhaps genetics does play a part but even if it does, diet and oral hygiene trumps that.
Missy has shown good oral hygiene for Ollie since he got his first tooth but diet is absolute crap. All that sugar constantly on his teeth is what caused him to have a freaking root canal at five. That’s ridiculous.

Did they give up on the podcast already? That was short lived.
