Ah gotcha!lovingthisforum wrote:Lol. We saw on the house cam she was leaving her room but was looking in the door opening what was in the hallway. The way she went back and forth and hesitated to go into the hallway and finally decided not to go, gave me the impression she was afraid to go into the hallway where it was dark and she couldn't clearly see what was there. She went back into her room, was clear and awake, walking in her room, walking to the bathroom back and forth, standing on her bed, lol, then finally decided to go and try again to go outside her room. Then in the door opening she was hesitating again and went back into her room. So I may have misunderstood and this may have been all "so good" for not telling the secret but I don't believe 1 jota of it.Scar2016 wrote:I must've missed something, why is she too afraid to leave her room?lovingthisforum wrote:Gaines is touching the sleeping bag of Elf. Life goes on.
Following Gaines, Brooks is touching the sleeping bag of Elf. Katie: No no, don't touch, don't touch!
That kid is constantly hearing: no, no. It's too much.
Gaines is getting too many compliments. According to Katie Gaines was so good for keeping Elf a secret, while in reality she was afraid to leave her room. It's one thing to give your child a compliment when it's appropriate, but this is too much. It's happened a couple of times, on camera, it's not the first time.

Re: Cullen & Katie: Breaking The Rules, Above The Law | Part
I thought they did too but looking at their house again when it was trying to sell, it appears this room has it's own and that looks really similar to Brooks room (no hideous wallpaper).Playsinrain wrote:Don't they share a bathroom? Like a Jack and Jill bath? I could be totally wrong, but i thought they did. I don't feel like it's a good idea to put a tree in the bathroom period....captainoflife wrote:Of course Gaines got a full blown tree in her bathroom and Brooks had some lights thrown up on his bathroom lights.
Katie couldn’t even go to the dollar spot at Target and get a $3 tree for Brooks’ bathroom.
The favoritism continues.
I think the Jack & Jill bath is connected to Gaines' room and then the other random room with a fireplace in it.

But... now looking at these pictures, it looks like the room with the fireplace has a different bathroom (you can tell by the lamp/couch in the mirror)
So either Gaines has her own bathroom and Brooks has a Jack & Jill bathroom with the fireplace in the room or....... I don't know. Too early for so much sleuthing.

I enjoyed Katie’s videos of her going through her clothes. Hoping she keeps up being productive!

The upstairs has 2 jack and jill baths. Gaines and Brooks’ rooms aren’t connected to the same bathroom.

me too! They have actually been good motivators for me. I had already gone through my closet a couple months back, but her videos have made me want to do it a second time and REALLY get rid of a lot of stuff. I need to read this book. I've seen it a million times and heard people swear by it, but i think i really need to give it a shot. She's also started getting up at 5am (i think yesterday was the first day for that so we shall see how it goes, if she doesn't stick to that new plan i really wouldn't blame her. Getting up that early for no real reason other than to just get up at that time seems like torture. LOL!!) ... it's like a switch has flipped.nutbagmcgee wrote:I enjoyed Katie’s videos of her going through her clothes. Hoping she keeps up being productive!

I've heard all great things about Marie Kondo's book and they really need it in their life with all the clutter they have collected.
Also, good for Katie for following through to be up by or at 5am. It's only the second day, let's see how she does. My internal body clock is always up and ready to go at 4:30am and I don't even drink coffee.

I get up early, but I go to bed early too.
A tent shelter for the homeless got flooded out completely here last week. That was all the inspiration I needed. My closet and dresser are much more empty now. Not trying to brag-- just wondering what is Katie doing with all the clutter she's removing? She didn't donate the toys, right? That really irritates me. So many kids would love those toys.

Went back and watched a few of their vlogs to see if anything had changed. Nope. Still the Princess Gaines and oh, yeah, our other child, Brooks Show. Which is what they should rename their channel to.

Re: Cullen & Katie: Breaking The Rules, Above The Law | Part
What bothers me is with the Christmas tree (aside from that it is rotten spoiled big, especially for a 4 yr old, in her already too big of a bathroom for a small child) (and yes like someone said Brooks didn't even get a christmas tree at all, that 'poor' boy had to stare up so high to see some colored lamps and he seemed totally underwhelmed, and enthusiastically ran back to the christmas tree in Gaines' room, that says it all)...so what bothers me is the way Gaines understands the christmas tree for her, indeed literally _of_ her, and she was acting possessively. Brooks wasn't allowed to touch it. Yeah the rationalization was that Brooks would take a away a christmas ornament, but he wasn't in fact, he was feeling and touching it to see and experience what it was, which is his full right imo, and as a mother I would _certainly_ NOT have approved of Gaines' behavior. It is my pet-peeve, I am hypersensitive against 1 kid acting like a parent and like being above a sibling. Gaines is too young to understand what Brooks was doing and to understand his needs. She was acting bossy, putting his hand away from the ornament. And again, Katie had to reinforce Gaines, the worst of it all, and repeated what Gaines had told Brooks, like 2 against 1, is what feels so unfair to me, and like we already saw with the carpet Brooks wasn't allowed to approach or touch, a short while ago,in case "GAINES" wanted to play with "HER" dolls. O yeah, since when can't Brooks play together with the dolls as well? Really Katie, he isn't allowed to explore and just have a short look (by touching etc) what it is??
Gaines will really become narcissistic, if she isn't already. Psychology theory says you are psychologically born at 3/4 yrs old, which means personality disorders are formed within the first 3-4 yrs of life. (That's what makes them more severe (personality) disorders, in comparison to the more superficial neurotic disorders which have a later, >3-4 yrs, origin in life.) Katie should stop treating and experiencing Gaines as all high and mighty and as equal to her. Katie should know that Gaines is too small and stupid to understand Brooks' needs. That's what parents are for. And Gaines is a too selfish little brat. Katie should know that being selfish is normal for her age so that she is not to be trusted in her judgment in relation to Brooks. Kids of 4 who have achieved nothing in life yet shouldn't judge their 2 yr old little brother. Katie, it is sickening the symbiotic relationship you have with Gaines. And it is unfair, very unfair to Brooks, you are damaging Brooks.
The same in the morning when Cullen and Gaines were watching Elf in the lamp. Gaines was eating chips or something, and she said no to the dog who tried to eat chips from the table while Cullen was okay (!) with it. I believe it is because Gaines can't share and she was protecting 'her' chips. Cullen could have said "no, it's okay, let her eat if she wishes". Hello! who is the parent here?
It's interesting to me to see how bossy persons are being formed, and that they are being formed (nurture) I think, I have decided for myself for now. I saw it so clearly in front of my mind all of a sudden, accidentally while Gaines was sitting on the counter and certain things had happened in the last 2 vlogs. Gaines will become a bossy person.
@Plays in Rain, while the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plane, Brooks has his own (miserable) bathroom, it's in the vlog.

Re: Cullen & Katie: Breaking The Rules, Above The Law | Part
I wasn't sure about the bath situation, for some reason i thought that their rooms connected with that bath bc i thought there was some issue when they moved in with Gaines using that bathroom at night? I need to go back and watch when they first moved in bc i seriously thought they didn't let her use it bc they were afraid it would wake up brooks or she would go in and wake up brooks from that room? Either way.. whatever LOL I still dont think a bathroom is the best place for a tree. I can't judge them for the size of the bathroom she has (i mean... she will enjoy having that bath when she gets older and most people don't buy or build houses with bathrooms specifically for toddlers, since they will grow into them) but i can judge the fact that it's a stupid idea, and possibly dangerous. Why not just put it in her room? My daughter got a pink Barbie tree that was about 2 foot tall (found for 75% off at after xmas sales) when she was around Gaines' age. My son had an orange SpongeBob one. they had plastic ornaments and no lights and were age appropriate. We put them in their rooms and they could decorate them over and over again. Something like that is perfect for both kids and would have been a better option in my eyes. Now that my daughter is 13 she has her own 4 foot tree that she bought, (also, after xmas sales lol) and she decorates with lights and "real" ornaments. A tree in the bathroom is just strange to me all around. Why the freaking bathroom???????lovingthisforum wrote:What bothers me is with the Christmas tree (aside from that it is rotten spoiled big, especially for a 4 yr old, in her already too big of a bathroom for a small child) (and yes like someone said Brooks didn't even get a christmas tree at all, that 'poor' boy had to stare up so high to see some colored lamps and he seemed totally underwhelmed, and enthusiastically ran back to the christmas tree in Gaines' room, that says it all)...so what bothers me is the way Gaines understands the christmas tree for her, indeed literally _of_ her, and she was acting possessively. She’s not to that stage in KonMari. If you follow the process to the letter you start with clothes (really should be all clothes, not just your own) then move on.Scar2016 wrote:I rarely watch them anymore, why didn't she donate the toys? They cleaned out the downstairs playroom and i assume, rotated toys. They have plenty enough to donate though. Maybe they will get to that point later? Although now before Christmas would be a better time to do that...GigglyMint wrote:She’s not to that stage in KonMari. Re: Cullen & Katie: Breaking The Rules, Above The Law | Part
Having a tree in the bathroom is normal because it can be seen from the street?
Is the tree for their actual enjoyment, or more for appearances?
Everything is about image and appearance with those two. That’s the whole reason why they live outside their means.
I think Katie is decluttering to sell stuff because money is tight this year.
OT- the podcast with E&J shows shows just how immature they all are. Cullen even thought it was cool the preschool aged kids were grown up enough to play outside unsupervised. Nice.
And of course Ellie has to tell Cullen that she and Jared have sex in their hot tub all the time.
