Sometimes I think, all this "Eve opened presents" and "Eve was running around somewhere unattended" is scripted and acted. It does not seem very natural and I do not know any parents that would let this happen without very clear statements that this is a "no go". It could be, Ruby makes it up, to have Stories to tell (there is honestly not much going on in the 8 passengers house hold besides that).

No, I care about Ruby letting Eve pick up a filthy pacifer off the floor of a doctor's office and put it in her mouth. I can't imagine what doctor would laugh at that.

Yeah I figure the Doctor figured she was like a 3 yr old or something the way she acts so laughed it off. If he had known she is 5 it might of been different. I can't stand how all of the kids behave. When Ruby was yelling at them for being in her closet eating her Oreos, Abby was still grabbing at them. They totally prove Ruby does NOT discipline off camera. They have no respect or "fear" of repercussion from her. It's very obvious. And Ruby does those fake reprimands with them on camera all of the time and you can tell by the kid's smirks it's all for the camera and they know it.
I think my #1 pet peeve aside from liars, is people who parent like Ruby.
I’m nearly 100 percent sure the Oreo scene was set up and completely fake. It didn’t seem genuine at all and so many vloggers love to joke about eating Oreos in their closet. The kids are encouraged to act up for funny footage. Ruby doesn’t care that it makes her kids look like brats or how that may affect them later on.

Family vlogging has becoming such a sham. The big name ones are so fake and scripted. Ruby does it better than others but you can still tell she’s having the kids act things out. She even says something along the lines of “today’s video was supposed to be a feel good one about using our old stuff to make someone else’s Christmas”. Like it’s just so odd you have your videos that are supposed to be about daily life all planned out ahead of time. Some minions even pointed out she had clips from multiple days in this video, like with Kevin before and after leaving for the trip I believe. If the minions are getting curious and annoyed with the sketchy timeline, you need to reconsider your tactics.

I'm assuming Ellie and Jared brought "What do you Meme" since they were the hosts? (It may have been a different sister, correct me if I"m wrong.) I've actually played that game with the adults in my family and yes, it's super raunchy. But everyone I'm playing with is an adult. I'm not a conservative Utah Mormon by any stretch, but there's no way I would play that game with a 15 and a 13-year-old. And then making Jared go through the game and take out all the "inappropriate" cards once she figured out that this wasn't appropriate for kids? Why not let the teenagers hang for a little bit and then make them go elsewhere when the adults want to play their game? I won't even say that I'm surprised that Ellie would bring that game to her family Christmas party, it actually seems pretty in character for her.

That moment when one of the tween girls came upstairs and wanted to partake in the adult time, probably because she didn't want to go to bed at 8:30 and could hear the adults laughing. Ruby's oldest was super defensive and upset at the idea, claiming that she babysat little kids for years in order to enjoy the honor of hanging out with the adult family members. I don't necessarily blame her for being salty over the fact that all of her aunts and uncles dumped their kids on her and expected her to babysit for years so that they could enjoy their child-free adult time at family gatherings, but their family dynamic has clearly built up a lot of resentment and you can clearly see that in the way Ruby's children talk to one another and are constantly in competition or putting each other down. What a weird family.

There's a short part where she's rough with one of the babies until the camera turns up. I hope that she's nice to the dog and that Ruby doesn't allow her to be rough with the dog.

Was just looking at social blade for another reason and noticed 8 passengers now have over 2 million subs!?. Did this happen without them making a big spectacle of it, or did I miss it?

I'm guessing it happened when they were all sharing their winter vacation home with the whole fame hungry family, that's hillariously awkward to me!

They said something about it on instastories and did a poll on YouTube about how they should celebrate (vacation won)...I’m sure we’ll see something about it eventually because Ruby’s videos are anywhere from 1-3 weeks behind and often spliced together from either the same day or different days. She said on her instastories that Kevin didn’t think they’d hit a 100,000 but she believed they’d get a million. They’re also projected to hit 3 millions apparently. Which I find funny because E&J surely aren’t seeing that kind of growth anytime soon and that brings me a little joy lol.

Eve is out of control. I think it’s time Kevin steps in and disciplines her..Ruby isn’t doing shit.

I feel so bad for the older kids, I couldn't imagine having eve as a little sister, it would be miserable.
she's five, she's not two anymore. Eve is smart with a very strong personality, she needs boundaries!
I work with kids, I have never seen a five year old (granted five year olds here are in full day kindergarten, so I don't even work with kids that old) get up to that much mischief, she is doing things 2 and 3 year olds do.

Since they have had so many comments talking about Eve's behavior, they have now made a long spill and letting people know they will start blocking people over criticizing how they discipline her and Russell. Guess they are joining the other family members on the blocking game!

Did anyone else find it a bit creepy the way that Ruby was gushing over Beau when she blogged about his graduation? She said he was a genius, wrapped in a very handsome body

Didn't she say once that she would have wanted to date him if he wasn't her brother?
Ewwww. I love my brother. He's a great guy. I think his late wife and his current girlfriend are lucky women. But never in a million years would I say I would date him if he wasn't my brother.

I have been lurking here for a few weeks, but I haven’t caught up on the old threads yet.

I think Shari is on some kind of stimulant like Adderall. It would explain her love for school and her short height. Which if that is the case she may still get a growth spurt.

Also, I hate the way they treat their dog. I can’t even watch episodes she is in because I just want to take her home.

What is the deal with Ruby posting picture of Eve in her underwear on Instagram? I counted three just scanning through the 8 passengers account.

The pinned comment on the vlog said everyone compliments them on Shari and Chad's behavior and how well they turned out, so basically Eve will be fine. Ok, first of all, Chad is kind of a jerk. Shari seems to be pretty stuck up, although I don't see her daily interactions as much. On top of that, this is not to be attributed to GREAT PARENTING and GREAT methods of discipline. When you are part of the LDS church, you MUST behave to a certain extent. Otherwise, you are in trouble with your entire church. Not only that, but almost everyone in their zip code is also Mormon. You really can't act out without fear of somewhat of a shunning or isolation. Notice how ALL their friends are Mormons? They are all expected by ALL their friends' families to be GOOD. In fact, good behavior and good works are what get them to a higher heavenly planet, as there are supposedly 3 levels/planets.

I hate when parents use the "well my other kid(s) turned out great!" every single child is different, no matter how they were raised, even changing a few tiny things here and there in the way you discipline will make a HUGE difference. Will eve grow up to be a criminal? no of course not, but in the mean time she's a pain to be around and makes things harder and annoying for everyone. Eve doesn't have consequences, she gets a "talking to" (usually done on camera) and that's it, she smiles and turns around and does something just as bad. Start taking things away, She ruins something of her siblings? take her fave toy away until she can earn it back. she's five, she is smart, she will respond amazingly to consequences. She'll also not grow up to be someone who doesn't understand that when she does or says something it can negatively effect others.

Plus, she's different than she was when Shari was that age. When Chad and Shari were little, they weren't vlogging, so acting out wasn't good material. It was misbehaving. And they were broke, and Ruby was popping out babies and miscarrying, and Shari at least was shouldering some of the burden.
Things are _very_ different now. People are so stupid where vloggers are concerned. Whichever one they love is perfect, and God forbid anyone suggests otherwise. And this whole "we're going to block you if you mention discipline" thing is just sad. It's like a little kid sticking her fingers in her ear saying "I can't hear you!"
