Re: OKThey'reFinallyEngaged?! | OKBaby | Part 26
Soda at Levi's age is a big no in my book too. I made the mistake with my first child thinking a glass here and there wouldn't matter but I was wrong.. His teeth were fine but the more he had it the harder it was to get him to drink water. It took like 2 weeks to stop that behavior.. It was very stressful.
I don't mind juice as long as it's natural and organic.. Preferably homemade.. Not those sugar filled juice boxes. But I don't really have an opinion about it either way. I grew up drinking those and so did my siblings and we're fine. But personally I'd rather not give them to my kids because they're filled with sugar.

Jesus Christ Chloe. If someone disagrees with you, which seems to be a lot of the time, you don’t need to go back and forth to really try to persuade them that 1 year olds can have sodachloe6124 wrote:Did I say that was the first time he had soda?
I said if he gets a tiny bit as a treat once in awhile it’s not going to kill him.
This is why this thread is going off the rails. Everyone has to argue with everyone and think their way is the only way.

Levi isn’t one lol. First of all I didn’t quote anyone I just stated my opinion on the vlog. Others then quoted me to tell me how wrong I was. So maybe others should take their own advice. I wasn’t trying to convince anyone. I really don’t care what anyone gives their kid to drink or won’t give them. It was just my opinion and I was quoted telling me how wrong I was. I suggest take your own advice and ignore me if it offends you that much.Moony wrote:Jesus Christ Chloe. Good lord, no offense to anyone here but soda isnt the worst thing a child can have. My kid has soda here and there and it's legitimately not an issue since 99 percent of the time I only ever offer water. This thread is a little wonky.
Edited to add: screen addiction is a real thing and I definitely think they need to cut that out. My kid got so addicted when she was younger that she would throw fits and it took so long to get her to stop talking about tablet and phone. Kyra need to stop relying on the screen and to freaking let the girl just cry it out when she refuses... and for that to work she needs to also not use it for a distraction

Never said you were wrong, i just disagreed with your opinion, which is fine. Not everyone is going to agree with you (or me) 100% of the time. That's why we have discussions here. You take this way too personally and act like you are being attacked. No one is talking about you or your parenting decisions, we are discussing OK. I think you are missing the disconnect there. there is no reason to be so personally offended about the opinions people have about someone that is not you and that you don't even know.chloe6124 wrote:Levi isn’t one lol. So they want to get married in Spring 2020? they're waiting a year after the baby's born. I think that's smart.. And that way the baby can be part of it too. It'd be cute to see her as a flower girl with Alaya
Re: OKThey'reFinallyEngaged?! | OKBaby | Part 26
I think it’d be smart too, still a pretty short engagement but with enough time to get in shape and possibly breastfeedytmamaviewer24 wrote:So they want to get married in Spring 2020? they're waiting a year after the baby's born. I’m sure we all had soda when we were younger. I did and I’m fine. No unhealthy habits here. People are just too sensitive to little things like this. Sure it’s a big deal but just because a kid has a few drinks of soda here and there doesn’t mean their life is ruined.Playsinrain wrote:I child Levi's age does not need a caffeinated soda period, or even soda at all. It's setting him up for a lifetime of bad eating habits. Give the kid water or if its a treat, some juice. No reason a kid his age should be given caffeine at all. I'm sure they wondered why he wouldnt sleep that night either.chloe6124 wrote:That was really cute seeing them ice skate. I don’t have a problem with a little soda. It was a treat and you don’t see them drinking it all the time.
Looks like Alaya had to wait for Oscar to get done with Levi so they were trying to distract her with the phone until he was ready. She was kind of grumpy and could tell she missed her nap.

They had a whole vlog about how addicted A is to the phone, i highly doubt this was just a short distraction. they were at an ice rink, have her watch the other skate or find something else to entertain her, that kid is addicted to the phone and it's sad to see they resort to that every day.
Will I let my kids have it? No. But I’m not going to bash parents who do. I’ll just say have fun with those dentist bills and surgeries for when your kids lose their teeth.
I don’t agree with the phone though. Now thats something we didn’t have growing up.

Sure they did as well. However, it seems to be a pattern with OK that they indulge when they find something that keeps the kids happy. Candy, the electronics etc. There is no reason to think they would limit the soda as well if it shut the kids up. Also with Kyra's questionable hygiene is the pop really worth the possible dental risk for what gain?mem3896 wrote:Please, I’m sure we all had soda when we were younger. I did and I’m fine. Guess I would just rather safe than sorry when it comes to their teeth if there is not real need for it.

Oh yeah I totally agree that they use stuff just to keep their kids quiet and happy. But in their end everything is their own fault and they’ll be the ones paying the price for it.Steps_to_STFU wrote:Sure they did as well. Just saying but does everyone (people arguing) now see how easy that was to disagree/agree?

My problem with the soda is Levi clearly has had it in the past my four year old has had sips here and there but he still reacts to the fizziness even though we warn him the fact that it didn’t even faze Levi tells me that he gets it as a treat often!

Not just soda either.
I’ve seen them on multiple occasions drinking Starbucks. Granted not every drink is caffeinated, but most are full of sugar and cream. Which is just as bad.

It looks like she has a “dream board” or goal board whatever they’re called on her story for 2019, there was a picture of a house, I hope to god they aren’t planning on moving this year

I hope she just means finishing off their house, the basement and furnishing and decorating it. They’ve spent a lot of money on the landscaping and the rooms in the basement so I would assume they don’t plan on moving, but who would really know with them.Moony wrote:It looks like she has a “dream board” or goal board whatever they’re called on her story for 2019, there was a picture of a house, I hope to god they aren’t planning on moving this year

Re: OKThey'reFinallyEngaged?! | OKBaby | Part 26
Wtf!! She is supposed to be on progesterone to "help keep the baby in" like she was with alaya to prevent preterm labor. But she hasn't because of "insurance issues". Okay Kyra. I thought she was doing better but clearly she's still not taking care of herself and putting her poor baby at risk. If your insurance won't cover it just pay for it out of pocket! Y'all have the money! R u kidding me! Your baby is 25 weeks BARELY past the point of viability. What is wrong with her....
